To Keep Her Safe

CHAPTER THREE

Becky, the princess of the kingdom, who never followed the rules, who never followed what her father had told her to do. She was always the rebellious one but something after the war changed, she knew what responsibility she had on her shoulders, she was just not accustomed to being so important.

" Good morning, princess ". Princess's maid woke her up, the morning routine of Becky had changed ever since the battle, now she had to get up earlier than usual and instead of going to the library she had to report to her father in the throne room.

" The king won't like you being late ". The maid bowed in front of the princess, Becky sighed and nodded and got up, she had to take a bath and get up ready. " Should I help you with your bath ? ". The maid asked and Becky immediately shook her head, she knew that the maids often helped her mother in her bath ever since she became the queen but Becky didn't like the idea.

" That would be all Irin, just make sure that my dress is perfectly ironed ". The princess requested her maid and the maid bowed down before giving the princess privacy to do her morning routine.

After she was sure that she was alone in her room, Becky sat back down on her bed and stared outside of her bedroom window, the wind was nice and she could feel the sunrays hitting her face.

The weather was pleasant, the princess almost thought of running to the city to spend this day away from her father's constant nagging, telling her to behave like a true princess, like the heir of the throne but Becky knew that she wasn't meant for that responsibility.

" Princess, your dress is ready ". Irin called out from outside, thinking that her master must be in her bath so she won't like her invading her privacy. " Thank you, Irin put that on my bed ". Becky answered as she rushed into her bathroom which was attached to her bedroom, thankfully that it was separated and had a door to ensure that no one would enter without her permission.

" Princess, your guard is waiting for you outside, he stated that the king has an important business with you and you must meet with him in the meeting chamber ". Irin informed the princess after knocking on her bathroom door, Becky sighed and submerged her entire body in the hot water, she already had a feeling that the day won't go as planned.

" Princess, are you okay ? ". Irin asked from outside, she had been waiting for a response but the princess was busy and lost in her own thoughts. " Yes Irin, I heard what you said, please tell Liam that I will be with him as soon as I can ". Becky ordered her maid, Irin left the room after that, giving the princess her privacy.

When Becky was done with her bath, she walked to her bed with a bathrobe wrapped around her body, she looked at the dress Irin selected for her, she gave her maid the duty to select her clothes each day, her maid would know in advance what activities she would be doing that day so she would pick a dress accordingly.

After she looked at her attire, she was sure that the king was having a meeting this afternoon and she would definitely be asked to attend the meeting as it is a duty of the future leader.

" Princess ? ". Liam knocked on her door, Liam was the guard her father assigned to her, after the battle king increased the protection around the princess and even ordered his personal guard to be by his daughter's side every minute.

The good thing here for the princess was that her guard, Liam, was very old and thought about retiring from the army soon. She could easily fool him and get out of his sight whenever she wished but her father would always catch her.

" I will be out in a minute, Liam ". Becky responded from inside, she checked her outfit in the mirror to see if anything needed to be changed or if something was out of place, lastly she stared at her face in the mirror, the princess sighed when she noticed dark circles under her eyes, they weren't so noticeable but Becky knew if the sleepless nights continued this would come to everyone's attention, including her father.
