" Of course I will always protect you ". Freen's words were true, the princess could feel like it was a promise that she will always be by her side. The man who was bleeding out had strength left in him, he brought his fist close to Freen's face to punch her but luckily Freen caught it.

Freen twisted his hand, the man cried out in pain holding his hand, Freen pulled the axe and striked the man once again, she made sure that he wasn't breathing. She removed her axe from the dead body and cleaned it before putting it back, the princess stared at her.

" Let's go ". Freen smiled and extended her hand for the princess to take, the princess stood up by Freen's help, she dusted off her dress, she discovered that her dress was torn by the side but thankfully it wasn't a big problem.

" I shouldn't have been so careless, the man almost took you away, I am sorry princess ". Freen apologized but the princess paid no attention, her eyes were fixated on the cuts on Freen's fist, and her busted lip.

The princess cradled her face in her hands, Freen immediately stopped talking, the princess grazed her thumb over Freen's busted lip, her guard closed her eyes tightly and winced.

" You got injured ". The princess mumbled, completely worried about her guard. " It is my duty to protect you, it doesn't matter if I get hurt in the process, don't think too much, it is just a small wound ". Freen whispered, the princess slowly nodded and took her hands off Freen's face, the princess's guard didn't like the loss of contact.

" We have to reach the palace before dusk, I don't want the king to think that something happened to you ". Freen stated and the princess nodded, this time Freen walked in front and Rebecca followed her guard like a little child.

Freen helped the princess to sit in the carriage and the latter followed every instructions wordlessly, the princess was lost in her own thoughts, thinking about the fact that she was almost kidnapped, thinking how it felt hugging her own guard, the feeling of her strong arms wrapped around her fragile figure, how good it felt holding her face.

What was happening to the princess ?

Rebecca shook her head multiple times to get rid of the unnecessary thoughts that kept emerging in her mind, she had no control over those thoughts, she lost track of time as she kept replaying the events of today in her mind.

Someone knocked on her carriage door which startled the princess. " We are here, princess ". When her guard's voice reached her ears, the anxiety which the sudden knock created inside of the princess disappeared instantly.

When the princess got down on the carriage, the king was present to welcome his daughter, he was worried sick about her well being. After the princess departure to the east village, he kept wishing that he should have gone with her rather than allowing her to go alone with her inexperienced guard.

" Rebecca ? ". The king's anxiousness was evident from the way he called out his daughter's name, the king glared at her guard when he saw blood stains on the princess's dress but in fact those blood stains were not her own blood.

" You are not fit for this job, I warned the commander about your inexperience ". The king spat angrily, the guard had no choice but to hang her head low and listen to the king, she couldn't stop him and neither did she want to, she deserved it in her opinion.

" Father calm down, it is not my blood ". The princess held her father by his shoulders, turning him to face her. " We were cornered by four men but my guard saved me, I'm safe, nothing happened to me throughout my journey ". The princess took her gaurd's side, highlighting the fact that she saved her when she was attacked.

The guard still kept her silence, she had no position to oppose the king when he started questioning her abilities, Freen knew she was just starting her journey and still had a lot of things to learn.
