Avira took a moment to absorb what I said; she looked to Vee, who looked at Avira with an uneasy look, then returned to look at me.
"Adam, to answer your question, yes, I am a mage to the queen, and also, those were royal guards, but they can't see you or know that you were a part of the falling object," Avira said.
"Why not? The only reason you brought me is so you can help me."
Avira looked at me momentarily before drifting her gaze away from me. Confused by this sudden reaction, she looked at me again, but the reaction on her face was different, and she then had a severe and stern look.
"Yes, those were my expectations, but the queen's exceptions might be quite the opposite."
"If I take you in, she might have other plans for you, and I don't know what they are, but I fear what she might do to you," Avira explained.
That was when I froze and furrowed my brows at her and then Vee. "Wait, you secretly do this for me without your queen's consent?" I said, my tone sounding both out of belief and confusion.
Avira looked away from me, and Vee and I looked at her confusedly. And we were concerned.
"Avira, please don't tell me you are doing this without the queen's approval," Vee said, her tone full of fear, and that's when I noticed the confusion missing something between Avira and Vee and the queen. And somehow, when I looked back at Avira, she had the same familiar fear in her eyes.
"It's true. I'm doing this without acknowledging the queen," Avira said in a severe and straightforward tone.
"Avira, if she finds out about this, which she will, she will do anything to get her hands on him," Vee said, pointing to Adam.
"I won't let that happen, and besides, you know who she is. I've known her for 70 rotations, and she's acted unusual. She's never been the same since that object fell from the sky." Avira explained, now focusing her attention on Vee.
Instead of me, she was now back to her full height, focusing all her attention on her.
And seemed not to realize that I was still in there with them, hearing Avira speaking to Vee.
"I'm doing this for him because he needs help."
"With what?" Vee asked, sounding a bit confused and irritated.
"He, Adam, can't remember what caused the object. To fall from the sky, but I think you can help. You're the only one I know who can help me figure this out." Avira said, giving Vee a pleading facial expression on her face.
Vee looked from Avira to me, then from me to Avira.
"Wait, you're telling me that he came from the object that fell from the sky?" Vee asked, sounding a hint of unbelievable in her voice. Her eyes grew a bit wide as she started to put the pieces together in her mind.
Avira nodded at her.
"And that is why I'm starting to speak this language because this is Adam's language, that we are speaking?" Vee asked, sounding as if she was right and everything she asked was true or false.
But everything she asked was true, and Avira needed to let her know she was right.
"Yes." That was what only Avira could say.
I looked to Avira and then to Vee, who seemed a little freaked out about this, but Avira spoke up again, trying to calm Vee down without her having any reaction of anxiety.
