Adam's POV
After the queen smiled at me, I was grateful that I had enjoyed and still enjoyed the meal she had offered Avira and me.
But when I looked to see Avira, she was still slightly eating, alienated, and showing a slight hint of emotion.
Every time, he would put a piece of food in her mouth using what appeared to be a fork, slightly eyed the queen and looked at the queen, who seemed to share the same look with Avira.
I was about to ask what was going on, but we were both interrupted when the beamed doors to both on our left opened to reveal a guard who came in and bowed quickly to the queen before him. The royal guard bee spoke, "I apologize for my intrusion, Your Majesty, but there has been a development."
After a big moment, the queen stood up and eyed the royal guard slightly. "Oh? And what would that be?" she said in a curious yet stern tone.
Avira and I were curious about this, and I noticed that her expression showed a similar curiosity.
"There have been rumors of a being just a few miles from here. That so happened to be similar to the one you have here, your Highness." the guard said, slightly looking in my direction and returning his gaze to the queen.
I looked to the queen, who had happened to look at me, but her look was suspicious and maybe even... concerned.
I was about to speak to go through my train of thought when the queen asked me something. I explained it best so she and Avira, including the guard in the room, would understand.
"If I had known there was someone out there who was my kind, I would have been able to contact them through the equipment that I have and hopefully get a response from to whom it is based from their caller I.D.," I said.
After I explained that, they seemed to have understood, but the queen asked what I meant by I.D.
"It's a short term for Identification," I said.
The queen nodded knowingly before looking back at the royal guard.
"Do we know where it is now?" The queen asked.
I was slightly confused when she asked and emphasized my kind as "It."
The queen looked in my direction, seemed to notice my confused expression, and gave me an apologetic look, which I returned with a nod to the royal guard.
"Uh, the rumors say that the being seems to be staying at a tavern just outside the city, a few miles from here, Your Majesty." The royal guard's tone was straight, strong, and yet stern at the same time altogether.
The queen thought for a minute, leaving us both quiet in the room until she spoke again, "I want to send a small group out to meet this being." the queen said, and the royal guard nodded to her.
"Yes, Your Majesty, right away." the royal guard said before retreating outside from the dining room to where Avira and the queen were.
As I watched this happening, the doors closed, leaving us alone with the queen. She then sat back down and looked at Avira and me, but Avira still gave her a skeptical look, which confused me.
Why is she acting like this? Does she not like the queen? What did she do that I don't know about? I thought inside of my head.
And I wasn't sure how the queen was reacting to it, and that concerned me; I hope Avira doesn't do anything that might insult the queen.
I thought in my head. When I thought about that last part, I could have sworn I saw Avira glimpse at me for a second before returning to looking at the queen.
