She swiftly and silently shut the door behind us as we entered the shop we supposedly owned. I couldn't help but notice the hexagon-shaped locks, three in total, that she deftly secured.
One of them, a metallic bar with a hue reminiscent of Hexium, caught my eye. It was the same metal Avira had mentioned in her stories.
After she used the boot to block the door, the other two locks bolted to the door and could automatically lock themselves with Vee's sudden magical yet quantum abilities.
Once the door was sealed, she turned her gaze towards us. Her eyes had no warm welcome, only a steely focus on Avira. Their brows were furrowed, and a sudden surge of anger passed between them, palpable in the air.
Then, the tension-filled silence broke as Avira moved over to my side slightly.
"You leave Adam out of this; he did nothing wrong," she said in hexane language.
This caused Vee to look from her to me. She noticed the confused expression on Avira's face, and then she slightly formed a smug smirk, looking at her threateningly.
"He doesn't know? Does he?" Vee asked, looking at Avira for a moment, which caused Avira's eyes to widen in shock.
"You wouldn't dare."
"Oh, I would."
"After everything we've been through, Vee, that's the first thing you want to use against me?" Avira said with an enraged expression, which slightly took me off guard.
Seeing how angry she was, I wanted to ask what she was so enraged about, but I kept my mouth shut because I knew whatever they were talking about had something to do with me.
However, they wanted me to refrain from asking what the two were talking about.
I took a minute to observe everything. There were different types of hexagon-shaped glass formed in originally olive-colored glass containers on shelves, as well as other colors and plants that I assumed were alien herbs that the bees used for cooking spices and for atmospheric smells to make their home smell nice.
Heavy steps echoed through the shop before Vee and Avira could delve further into their heated discussion.
They sounded like hooves, and I turned to see the source. It was Silene, draped in silk, that revealed her frey-furred body.
She descended from the dark brown wooden stairs, each creaking under her weight, adding to the suspense of her arrival.
Before I could do or say anything, Avira seemed to notice me looking at Silene, and with a slight instinct, she covered my eyes with both her hands.
"Adam, don't look!" Avira exclaimed.
"It's fine, I can tell he is grown...whatever you are." The anthro goat said, wavering her hand away to try and gesture to figure out what I was.
"I'm a human for your information."
Silene, "Oh, okay." Not caring about what I had just explained to her.
After a brief moment of the four of us in the same room, one of us technically nude, Avira looked to the goat before us, which meant what I assumed was for her to go back upstairs and put on some proper clothes.
She looked at Vee for a moment to try and make her lover get some clothes on.
"Silene."
"yes, honey?"
"Can you give a few minutes alone."
I noticed that silence was about to protest, but Vee gave her a look that signaled to be a 'please' expression on her face.
Silene sighed, with a moment of her rolling her eyes at her sudden brat-like behavior similar to a child back in my world.
When she returned upstairs, I heard the door close. I could tell it was aggressive, though.
"What are you two doing here?"
"We need your help getting Adam off from the borders to find the rest of his kind," Avira said, explaining that she wanted to speak in the best way she could see their purpose here.
