That concerned me, and I wasn't sure Avira also knew about this, such as if we were being played and even the possibility of being set up.
But that stopped when she took me by the hand again and pulled me to a pillar used as one of the bridge's supporters. We were leaning upon it, except I was on my back against Avira's tall chest.
I almost so slightly rested the back of my head against her chest, but I kept it away from the back of my head, not wanting to be insensitive or hurtful to the only person in this world who was willing to help me.
And she was willing to help even if she didn't want anything back from me, which was pretty uncommon from where I was back on earth.
She held on to my five-fingered hand, using her thumb index from her hand to rub it against the bare skin of my left hand.
"Why is she still holding my hand?" I wondered, unsurely and confused, why she would take the time, especially when we were trying to escape from the royal walls and get to where we were. Heading to which was outside the city and hopefully find Vee and Silene.
If we were to pass over the bridge.
I noticed that Avira was still slightly holding on to me.
I looked in the direction of where she was and saw that the guard at his post was facing a different direction, looking and yet facing the opposite direction from where we were. So, at that moment, Avira embraced me tightly, and I wasn't sure what this sudden reaction she was doing was.
But that's what when she said, "Hold on." She spoke.
Before I could see what she was doing and what she meant by what she said.
I looked to see her bloomed wings, and at that moment, she launched herself skyward, causing me to feel a tingle of gravity work out in my body, adjusting itself from the sudden wing propulsion towards the sky.
To be continued
