The next morning, Gem woke up Grian, Joel, Lizzie, Kath, and Jim at 6 am to do some studies on them. "Gem, do we really have to be up this early!?" Grian asked, rubbing his eyes in exhaustion.
"Yes, it's very important that we do these studies now," Gem replied firmly. Grian grumbled and reluctantly got out of bed, feeling tired but not wanting to upset Gem. The others followed suit, knowing how important it was for them to participate. As the 5 entered the room where Gem led them, they saw Pearl and Pix, who were already up and about. "Morning guys, why are you up so early?" Pearl asked in surprise, sounding a bit confused as to why everyone was up and ready so early in the day. "We're doing more studies with Gem," Jim said, sounding quite excited. He liked learning and trying new things, even if it meant having to get up early in the morning. "Oh, cool! What are you studying?" Pearl asked, feeling curious as to what was so important that everyone was getting up early in the morning. "We're studying each other and our abilities," Grian replied. "Gems say it's important that we learn more about ourselves and each other." "That sounds interesting," Pearl said, feeling excited at the idea of learning more about herself and the others. "Can I participate too?" she asked, eager to learn new things and be a part of the experiment. "Gem also said if we try to do stuff that past us did, it might give us some memories!" Jim's said excitedly, feeling curious to see if it would actually work and hoping that he would be able to recall some of his forgotten memories. "Oh, that sounds fascinating!" Kathrine said, feeling excited at the prospect of unlocking past memories. "I wonder what I used to be like back then." She felt eager to learn something new about herself, even if it was something she had forgotten long ago. "Hey, Gem, how long ago was our death?" Lizzie asked, sounding curiously blunt and direct. She seemed eager to get an answer, as if she had a reason for asking. "Uh, let me think..." Gem said, thinking to herself for a moment before replying. "1,000 years ago!" she said with a smile, feeling pleased that she was able to give Lizzie an exact answer. "Wait what?!" Joel asked, sounding surprised and curious at the same time. "How are you guys still alive?" Joel asked, sounding bewildered and confused by what he heard. He couldn't imagine that anyone could actually live forever, and he was curious to find out how the gang managed to do it. "Oh, Joel! I made a spell around my empire so we can stay alive forever so we don't age! And also the corruption doesn't affect us that much anymore!" Gem explained, sounding pleased that she could provide an answer to Joel's question. "Oh yeah, something I forgot, you're a witch!" Joel said with a laugh. "Actually, I'm a wizard, not a witch," Gem corrected him, feeling a bit embarrassed and trying to keep the conversation light-hearted. "But thanks, Joel!" Joel smiled, feeling apologetic for his mistake. He didn't really understand the difference between wizards and witches, so he just accepted what Gem said. He tried to make her feel better, saying, "oh well, close enough."Gem looked around the room, trying to find something and then she held up a tulip. "Kathrine, you used to love making your plants overgrown," she said. "Can you make this grow?"
Kathrine was taken aback by Gem's request but did remember how she used to love growing plants. She knew that her powers were strong enough to do it, so she decided to fulfill Gem's request. She channelled her magical energy into the tulip and watched as it slowly began to grow, feeling pleased that Gem had asked her for help. "So Kathrine, do you feel anything? Remember anything?" Gem asked excitedly. Kathrine thought to herself, trying to think of things that might trigger something but nothing worked. She felt disappointed that she hadn't been able to recall anything but was glad that Gem was trying to help. "Sorry, Gem, nothing," she said, sounding sad. "Hmm, we need something more connected to you, but what?" Gem wondered, trying to think of anything that could trigger old memories for Kathrine. Gem sat down, thinking of something that Kathrine would love and then she heard Pearl's words. "Hey Gem, the only person that knows Kathrine more than any of us is..." "Shrub! Thanks, Pearl," Gem said excitedly, getting to her feet and heading towards Shrubs room. "Wait, Gem, Shrub wouldn't be in her room," Kathrine said, sounding surprised. "She usually has her morning walks by the pond with her wolves!" "How do you know that?" Gem asked, feeling confused. "I usually go on walks with her every morning and we'd pick flowers and..." Gem cut Kathrine off, feeling her heart race as she realised that Kathrine had remembered something. "Kath, you've only been here for two days..." she said, puzzled, trying to think of what else Kathrine could remember. Then, it struck her. "Kathrine, you've remembered something!" she exclaimed with a smile. She was excited to see Kathrine's memory begin to return. This new breakthrough made Gem excited to see where this could lead. "Let's see if we can unlock more memories," she said, looking thoughtfully at Kathrine. Kathrine nodded, a bit overwhelmed by the sudden rush of memories. She tried to focus on what else she could recall, but she couldn't remember anything specific. Still, she was grateful that she had been able to remember something at last. "Come on, Kath, let's keep trying!" Gem said, trying to encourage Kathrine to keep going and continue trying to unlock her memories. "Wait, Kathrine, let me get Shrub!" Gem yelled as she ran down the hall to Shrubs room, feeling determined to get her friend's help in unlocking more memories. Pearl nodded and turned to Jim, Joel, and Lizzie. "Try to help their memories too!" Gem called out as she ran away. Jim, Joel, and Lizzie looked at each other and then started talking and trying to remember things they had done together in the past. They were glad to have Pearl to help them and hoped that their memories would start to come back. "Guys, can you remember anything?" Pearl asked the four in a hopeful tone. "Sorry, Pearl, nothing..." Jim said sadly. "How did you remember Kathrine?" Pearl asked, sounding intrigued. "I don't know...Gem was talking about Shrub and she was also holding a tulip. It was one of my favourite flowers that me and Shrub always get on our walks. Then I remembered," Kathrine explained with a smile. The memory had come back suddenly and she was surprised at what triggered it. "Pearl, is there anything that you remember of us that could help?" Lizzie asked in a hopeful tone. "Umm, Lizzie, you love cake!" Pearl replied, sounding happy as she remembered one of Lizzie's quirks. "Cake? Why cake?" Lizzie asked, sounding confused as to why that one thing could trigger a memory. "You made a rule that everyone in the land had to eat cake for a whole week!" Pearl explained. It was one of Lizzie's more unique ways of ruling, so the memory stood out in Pearl's mind. "Does that help?" Pearl asked. "Sorry, Pearl, nothing," Lizzie responded, feeling frustrated that she couldn't remember anything else. She kept trying to focus on the past, hoping that something else would come back to her. But as the time passed, she couldn't help but feel discouraged. "Hmm, let me think." Pearl said, taking a few moments to gather her thoughts. "Wait, Lizzie, I remember something!" "Uh, Pearl, what are you looking for?" Pix asked, feeling a bit confused by Pearl's frantic searching. Pearl looked around the room, desperate to find an item that could help unlock more memories. After a few frantic seconds, a light bulb moment struck her. And as soon as it did, she whispered something into Pix's ear. Pix pulled something out of his pocket, looking at Pearl with a puzzled expression. "Is this what you're looking for?" he asked. "Oh, yes! Perfect!" Pearl said excitedly. Pearl pulled out an apple, but the apple had a golden glow to it that gave it a purple shine and made it look enchanted. Lizzie stared at it in amazement, wondering what it did. "Pearl, Pearl!" Lizzie exclaimed when she saw the apple, her eyes sparkling with delight and recollection. "I remember! We were trying to find an enchanted apple for my wedding!" Lizzie said, feeling excited that she had remembered something. She smiled at Pearl, grateful that her friend had found the apple that helped unlock a precious memory for her. Lizzie felt a rush of emotions when she saw and remembered the enchanted apple. It was a special memory for her, and it was something she had forgotten but now she remembered. She felt filled with joy and gratitude. "I don't remember what the enchanted apple did though," she said, feeling a bit sad that the details had slipped her mind. "We'll remember eventually," Pearl said with a reassuring smile. "Let's keep trying to recall the past. Maybe there are other pieces that can help us complete the picture." Two down, two to go. While Shrub, Pearl, and Gem tried to help each other regain their memories, Joey and Scott were helping Grian with his wings. Grian was having trouble getting his wings to work properly. He struggled to control it and make it go in the direction he wanted. Joey and Scott were patient with him and helped him practice and figure out the best way to move his wings. After some time, Grian was able to get his wings to work properly and he felt delighted. After hours of studying, Grian learned how to fly straight and not crash into anything.
Everyone was having a break at 2pm. Kath, Joel, and Lizzie had remembered something from their past. They shared their memories and it helped them piece together the story of their lives and their journey. Everyone was feeling happy and relaxed, enjoying their break after a long day of studying and remembering. They were grateful for the time they had and were looking forward to what other memories would be brought to light and shared. Lizzie and Gem entered the room with food and cake while everyone was walking. "Hey guys, food's here!" Gem smiled. "Omg I'm starving, thank you so much!" Grian spoke with a mouth full of food, feeling grateful to have something to eat. Everyone was happy to be able to eat and enjoy the food, feeling relieved after a long day of studying and remembering. While everyone was talking and having a good time, Jimmy was thinking to himself. "Why couldn't I remember anything?" He wondered, feeling frustrated and disappointed by his inability to recall the past. "Why is it so hard for me too?" Jimmy felt like he was the only one who couldn't remember anything and he felt discouraged. He looked at the others and couldn't help but wonder what they were remembering that he wasn't. Fwhip and Sausage entered the room, the smell of delicious food filling their nostrils. "Hey guys, what's that delicious smell coming from?" Sausage looked up and saw the table full of food, running towards it happily. "Omg food!" he exclaimed, looking forward to eating it. "Hey guys!" Fwhip said, greeting everyone. Everyone replied excepted Jimmy, who was thinking to himself and trying to remember. "Hey Jim? Buddy?" Fwhip asked, looking at Jimmy with concern, wondering why he wasn't responding. Fwhip yelled at Jimmy for the 5th time. "Jim!" "Oh, sorry, Fwhip, I was just thinking about something." Jimmy responded quickly, embarrassed and trying to hide his annoyance, but Fwhip could tell that something was bothering him. "It's fine, buddy. Anyways, how is the studying going?" Fwhip asked. "Not well for me, but everyone else is fine!" Jimmy smiled, putting on a fake appearance of happiness. "Don't worry, Jim, we have all the time in the world!" "Just take it slowly and focus on trying to remember. Even if it doesn't work, don't worry too much about it." Jim looked at Fwhip, feeling conflicted. He was trying to calm his nerves and take things slowly, but he couldn't help but feel stressed out and worried. He tried to focus on Fwhip's words, but they didn't help much in calming his nerves. "Here, Jim, have some food!" Fwhip said, handing him a slice of cake. Jim nodded, grateful for the cake. "Anyways, what have you been up to while we've been studying?" Pearl asked Fwhip. "Oh, I've been doing some magic in my room with some salmon and redstone but it exploded..." Fwhip said, sounding sad and disappointed. When Fwhip said salmon, Jimmy had the worst headache he could remember. He tried to ignore it, but it was becoming worse. While Fwhip talked about his studies in his room, Jim felt incredibly lightheaded. The words "salmon" and "explosion" echoed in his ears, sounding like drums just beside him. "Hey, Jim, you don't look so good. You okay?" Joel asked, concerned as he saw Jimmy turn pale. Jim was having trouble breathing, feeling extremely disoriented. He just nodded, unable to speak. His head felt like it was spinning and he felt like he was about to faint. "Jim? Jimmy!" The words faded in and out as his consciousness slipped away. But just before he fainted, he saw a shadowy figure with purple eyes, staring lifelessly at him. He tried to call out, but he couldn't muster the energy to speak. Then, he lost consciousness completely.
