It crushes your ego to admit this, but you had never been so glad to run into Yeonjun until now.
"Ah, yes. You are quite right but Ms. Park here has somewhere to be; and I intend to escort her there." Liam replies in monotone. "As you can clearly see she's far too gone to even take a step on her own."
"Oh~ I had no idea y/n got herself a new assistant!" Yeonjun chuckles in amusement which has Liam tightening his grip on your arms; making you wince.
Liam clears his throat and attempts to leave without drawing any more unnecessary attention to you both. "Now, if you'll excuse us."
"Hold on second."
"What?" Liam snaps at Yeonjun, growing frustrated by every second that was slipping through his fingers.
"I'd love to have a chat with y/n." Yeonjun drawls with a tilt of his head.
"She has no interest in small talk for now."
"Oh?" Yeonjun feigns surprise. "But I got a message from her a few minutes ago that she has something important to discuss with me."
"Can't you see-"
"No matter what." Yeonjun smiles like the sly fox he is. "Besides, Ms. Park here has been awfully quiet about something she told me herself. I'm sure she would dismiss me herself if she must, no?"
You hear Liam grind his teeth. If he tries to insist any further, even a 2-year-old would come to the obvious conclusion that there's something odd about the entire situation. And to add to his frustration, the palms of his hand gripping onto you turn sweaty.
Ugh.
"Oh, and didn't you, yourself claim that she is in no condition to even talk to me; then I wonder what important business she needs to be escorted to so urgently in such a state, hm? Surely, it's nothing too confidential~" Yeonjun recalls innocently.
"Ah, yes. Of course." Liam huffs in defeat. "If that's the case, then I shall leave her in your good hands; since I already have a lot on my plate."
He hurls your limp body in Yeonjun's direction, who catches you with an "oomph"; before taking off in long strides.
Maybe you heard it wrong but you hear Yeonjun release a sigh of relief, holding you with a steady grip. He places his palm on your cheek, turning your head so you could face him. "y/n! Can you hear me?" He pats your cheek in a desperate attempt to open your half closed eyes.
"y/n, can you speak? Where is your assistant?" He asks again; his soothing voice only making you want to fall deeper into your muddled dreams.
"y/n, please..." His voice falls into a helpless whisper.
You try to open your mouth to speak but words fail to come out. You try to blink your eyes but the haze never leaves. You try to move your limbs but it's like the commands never reach them.
I think I'm safe for now, right? Maybe I could sleep for a bit...
And your brain shuts down, only registering Yeonjun's groan before everything turns pitch black.

When your eyes open again, you realize that your blurred vision has lessened significantly. You can finally feel your limbs; although unable to move them for the time being. Your head feels like it just came off a roller coaster ride; dizzy and aching badly but well enough to be able to understand your surroundings and think about what happened last night.
Speaking of which...
WHY AM I IN A CAR?
A MOVING CAR AT THAT?
You jerk forward in a panic, only to be constricted by the seatbelt locking you in place.
"Oh? Thank god you've woken up. The medicines worked quickly enough." A devastatingly soft masculine voice sounds from the driver's seat, which, upon turning your head to the right, you see Yeonjun; looking straight ahead as he drove, his right hand on the steering wheel while his left arm resting leisurely on the armrest between the two front seats.
"What the-" You put your vocals cord to use; only to be interrupted by Yeonjun halfway through your sentence.
"Yes, yes, we get it. You're shocked. No need to yell. My head already hurts from your perfume that could be smelled from a mile away. You should be thanking me for saving your ass back there instead."
"I wasn't-" You begin to defend yourself.
"Okay, alright, princess. Whatever you say."
You clench your jaw and decide to change the topic. "Where are you taking me?"
"Hm, good question. I was thinking maybe I'd take you to a desolate forest, chop you up and sell your organs. How does that sound for a plan?" He laughs deeply.
You shoot him a withering glare.
"Of course I'm taking you to your home! Where else my lady?" He adds in exasperation.
You only roll your eyes in response and look straight up ahead. The storage compartment of the dashboard is propped open and you can see a stash of all sorts of medicines rammed in untidily.
You click your tongue in amusement. "You do drugs?"
Yeonjun bursts out in a fit of laughter and you bite the inside of your cheek to suppress your smile.
When he gets a grip on himself, he shakes his head, the wide grin on his face not leaving. "You must be feeling well already since you seem to be in a mood for jokes. And no, sorry to disappoint you, love, but my perfectly arranged dispensary ended up in ruins thanks to you. Since I couldn't find the medicine I needed, I turned the compartment upside down for it, only to end up buying it because I didn't have any."
The thought of Yeonjun panicking while rummaging through his stockpile of medicines made you want to smile again – twice, in such a short span of time. New personal record, dare you say.
And then, him having to buy some just for you made the trapped butterflies in the cage of your heart thrash against their confines.
Shit. y/n, focus. You can't let your emotions distract you just because someone did one little nice thing for you.
You clear your throat. "So, why do you have so many medicines anyway?"
Stop initiating small talk, y/n.
Yeonjun smiles for some reason before replying. "My mom's a doctor. Well, surgeon more precisely." He chuckles. "She's always nagging me to have every type of medicine at hand, just in case." He says the last three words by gesturing quotations marks by his free left hand.
That's sweet.
You nod in understanding.
"Anyway." He changes the topic. "How're you feeling now?"
"A lot better." You look down at your hands in your lap. "Thanks."
"I'm sorry, what?"
You regret trying to thank him and turn to glare at him, at which he only laughs. "Okay, okay. I'm just messing with you~ Who would've thought I'd see the day when the Park y/n would be thanking me? Awesome."
"Ugh."
