Leilani laughed at herself, she laughed at the fact that she shot Tommy in the foot. It amused her how quickly her emotions had changed. How she had so easily switched. Although she was angry that she hadn't acted like that the entire time with Tommy, and all of her previous relationships. Maybe then she would be happier now. If she had just ignored Tommy's efforts. Shot Rhodri a lot earlier and had never let Isaac pursue her. If only she had not let any men into her life. Life would be a lot easier without men.

Speaking of, Alfie had come to collect her from her hotel at 7am that morning. She didn't know how he knew where she was. There was no way of contacting him once he was on the road. Alfie always had his ways.

---------

6:15 that morning.

Alfie banged on the door with his fist. The only thing he had on him was his gun and an angry expression. He had warned Tommy. He had fucking warned him. He had fucked with his family, again, and he wasn't going to give him another chance.

Tommy answers the door after Alfie's continuous knocking, which had stirred him from his light sleep. Not that he got a lot of it. Whenever he shut his eyes he would remember the events of last night. Tossing and turning over his choices. He came to the conclusion that although he didn't handle it in the best way, a shit way. Lani was safe now. Rhodri wouldn't hurt her anymore. It hurt that that fact came with a cost. It costed Tommy the love of his life.

He was surprised that she had called Alfie. He realised then the pain that he had caused her. Alfie was the lesser of two evils.

"She's not here" Tommy greets Alfie with a stern stare.

Alfie stares at the man dead in the eye before he analyses his state. He had a limp and was walking with a stick. He looked like shit. What the fuck happened here.

"What the fuck happened" Alfie demands, stepping into the house so that Tommy couldn't shut the door on him. He was going to get his answers.

"I contacted her ex fiancé, I wanted to kill him. He turned up here. Lani shot me in the foot" Tommy says, obviously too tired of the situation to lie to the man. And Alfie would be able to tell if he was lying anyway. Tommy also completely throwing in that last statement. Not that it fazed Alfie or shocked him in any way.

Alfie couldn't speak for a moment. He wanted to put a bullet through Tommy's head right then and there. But something stopped him. Lani told him. That was her deepest secret, and she told him. She trusted him enough to let him in. She hadn't done that with anyone. Not even Alfie, the only reason he knew about Rhodri was because she had called him late at night asking for help and that something bad had happened to her. That was all that he knew. He guessed that he had mistreated her.

"Where is he now? I've got a few questions for him" Alfie asks. Tommy pondered at his demeanor. He wasn't pulling out his gun.

"Lani shot him"

----------

"Thank you for coming to get me" Leilani finally speaks. They had been driving in silence for the past few hours. Lani contemplating her past actions, and Alfie contemplating something that he completly loathed. What if Tommy was right for her? What if he had been too quick to judge their relationship? They obviously loved eachover. She trusted him and felt safe, and Alfie regretted that he had been too harsh on his sister. He wanted her to feel safe. Even if it was with a man that he heavily hated.

"Anytime" he speaks. The conversation dies back down to silence. "Tommy told me what happened" Alfie speaks, utilising the sudden conversation from his sister. She had had some time to think now, maybe she would communicate with him a bit.

"Of course he did" she laughs. Not happily though, it was more of a fake laugh. A laugh filled with pain. He had a habit of telling people everything about her.

"I think you should be with him" Alfie states. Quickly realising that this was probably the wrong thing to say. She didn't want to listen to him. He knew that he had betrayed her trust, and she probably wouldn't trust him for a while. If ever. So why would she listen to him now?

She just laughs again.

"It's a bit late now" she says. He chooses his fucking moments.

"He loves you. He just wanted you to be safe" he says, finding himself defending Tommy. Defending Tommy fucking Shelby. This was a very strange day.

"So he went against my word and bought my abuser to his front door" she spits, pulling out a cigarette. She had to distract herself. She had to do something with her hands to stop them from shaking.

Alfie fell silent, again. He didn't have anything to say to that. There was nothing that he could say. He just tightened his grip on the wheel, the thought of someone hurting his sister pierces through him like a bullet.

"In his mind, he was protecting you. Don't stay angry with him, its not right" Alfie speaks.

After this Lani can do nothing but stay silent. She was too angry to think rationally at that moment. She needed time away. Time to think through everything. Time.

---------

Lani hadn't said anything to Ada as she walked through the front door. She just walked straight past her and up the stairs. She couldn't handle another lecture, her telling lani how she was right. Her brother had just hurt her. She was weak. Pathetic.

Ada had of course followed her up. Pleading with her to talk. Just like Tommy had.

"What's he done?" She asked for the fifth time, watching as the woman frantically unpacks her bag. She was just happy that she was back.

"What? So you can gloat? You were right Ada. You happy?" She snaps, continuing to unpack as tears threaten to fall down.  She continues, trying to distract herself.

"I'm not happy that he hurt you. I'm just happy that you're home" she says, trying once again to reach for her.

This time she let's her as she holds onto her best friends hand.

"I'm fucking home"
