Once the maternal instinct had kicked in for Angharad, it would never break. And yes, Lani was going by Angharad again. She had been living next door to her Father and his wife and children for the past year. Honestly it was the best decision she had ever made. Other than the one to keep her child, which turned out to be children. She had delivered a set of healthy twins six months ago. A boy and a girl. They were absolutely everything to her. She had named them Arianwen Dorothy Garmon and Carwyn Thomas Garmon.
She had decided to use her Father's last name for the children. That way it would not raise suspicions to their last names. She had done the same for herself. Angharad Garmon.
Her life in Wales was peaceful. She felt free. At peace, finally. Although her heart was always with Tommy, despite the pain that he had caused her. She knew that she was probably even now after taking his children away from his without any communication. And she knew that it was for selfish reasons. But she did what was best for herself. And her children. They needed this little peaceful life for a bit. She knew that i'r wouldn't be for long. Tommy always had his ways.
"Cinio'n barod Angharad! A mae na rhywyn yma i gweld ti" Lunch us ready Angharad! And there's someone here to see you.
She hears her Father shout from out his window next door. She cursed under her breath as the twins began to cry. She had just gotten them to sleep. As much as she loved them, they were the worst sleepers ever. They would be up every hour crying resulting in minimal sleep for Angharad. She had taken them to see a doctor as she thought it strange that they were still like this after six months and no better than the day they were born. But she was told that it would take time and sent home.
She quickly comforts the babies and wraps them up in warm blankets and hats before leaving the house. The late November chill stings her as soon as she walks out. Her over tired brain had forgotten to get her coat so she was in a dress, and was turning more blue by the second. This prompts her to jog slightly to the house next door. She opens the front door and is instantly warmer. Her father must have the fire going.
Therefore she waits a moment before going into the kitchen as she places the babies in the cot by the fireplace, making sure to take off their hats and blankets so they don't over heat.
"Okay cariadon, bod yn distaw am awr osgwelch yn dda" Okay loves, be quiet for an hour please. She pleads with her children, as though they could understand her.
She smiles down at them and admires them for a second. Their rosy chubby cheeks were absolutely adorable. They had blue eyes, just like their father. Arianwen had slightly darker hair than her brother, again taking after Tommy, whereas Carwyn had Angharads lighter brown. They looked up at her and in that moment she was consumed with love for them.
"Angharad! Peidiwch a gadael o'n aros! Angharad, don't leave him waiting! Once again her Father's voice disrupted the children as they began to scream and cry, piercing her ears.
"Dwi am lladd ti!" I'm going to kill you! She shouts back before returning to the children, picking them up and bouncing them up and down slightly while shusing them, trying to get them to be quiet.
"Here, let me help"
Angharad was too preoccupied to register who was by her side, or the fact that they were speaking English. So without looking she passes Arianwen to the man.
Thomas Shelby was in awe of this child. She looked just like him.
He had come 20 minutes prior to this. As soon as John had told him where she was he was on his way, without saying a word. He was going to get his family back. He was going to see the love of his life again. Lani looked different now. She looked healthy and happy. Well, as happy as you can be while trying to calm down a screaming child.
After a few minutes and the child had stopped screaming she places him back down in the cot, then turning to the man by her side to hold the other child she stops.
Tears immediately well up in her eyes.
He doesn't say anything, instead he moves past her and places his daughter next to his son. He didn't know that she had twins. Polly must have left that tiny detail out. He would worry about that later.
"What are their names?" He asks, avoiding the big questions until later.
Angharad gulps slightly as she looks down at her children. Finally quiet.
"Arianwen and Carwyn" she whispers.
Tommy just laughs.
"How the hell am I going to say that. Middle names?" He asks, still chuckling slightly.
She smiles weakly as she looks up at him.
"Dorothy after my mam and Thomas" she speaks softly.
"After me?" He asks. There was a very obvious answer to that question and Angharad was currently questioning his intellect.
"No after Thomas Brown, the pedophile down the street" she says sarcastically crossing her arms and giving him a playfully stern look.
She laughs at his dumbfounded expression.
"Yes after you Tommy. I may not like you very much but you're still their Father" she speaks confidently, once again looking down at her children who seem to be drifting off into a sleep.
"I have reason to not like you very much either" he mumbles, he does try to play it off as a joke but it comes out as more of an annoyed statement, earning a glare from Lani.
"Do you really want to do this now?" She asks spitefully, gesturing to the semi closed door through to the kitchen were her father and her half brothers sat.
Tommy just shakes his head.
"Later"
