Chapter 27.

"Who?" Zhan said softly as he stared at the little child.

Yibo looked at Zhan before he said, "This is my nephew Luhan; he is my sister's son."

Zhan looked at Yibo and then at the gravestone before he looked at the child and said, "Yuki." He said softly, "How did she die?"

"Her health was already declining, and it only got worse after she gave birth."

"I see." Zhan spoke; he took a deep breath and said, "I... I should go." He took a step back, but Yibo suddenly grabbed his hand and asked, "Are you okay?"

Zhan yanked his hand back and said, "I am fine."

"Why are you here?" Yibo asked.

"I came to pay a visit to someone; I will leave now," Zhan said before he turned around and left.

As he sat in his car, his phone suddenly rang. It was his grandfather's call, "Hello." He spoke,

"I have called you to remind you about the party that is going to be held in the evening; it is an important event, and as the CEO, you better be there; just show your face and take some photos."

"I understand."

"Good, don't give me any chance to complain."

"Alright."

The evening came soon, and Zhan got ready for the evening.

"Sir, are you ready to leave?" Haoxuan asked.

"Yes, let's go." Zhan said as he sat in the car, and Haoxuan looked at him before he asked, "Are you alright, sir?"

Zhan looked at him and spoke, "Why are you asking that? Do I look sick?"

"No, it's just that you look rather tired."

"I am fine," Zhan said clearly.

Haoxuan did not pursue the matter; after all, he was just a subordinate, and he was his boss. As long as the work is not being affected there is nothing to worry about.

Once Zhan reached the party, he said his greetings, met the important people, took photos, grabbed some drinks, and after half an hour, he was ready to leave.

However, the host of the party, who was one of the company's important clients, wanted to talk some more with Zhan.

Zhan entertained him for a while before the host finally left him alone, and he stood in the corner, however, once he was alone, someone else approached him, "are you Xiao Zhan?" he turned back and saw a beautiful woman standing behind him. She was smiling at him as she held a glass of wine in her hand.

"I am."

The woman smirked as she said, "You are Zane's cruel brother huh!"

Zhan looked at her as she said, "My name is Sarah Sinclair. Do you know me?"

Sarah Sinclair, he had heard that name somewhere, but where? He put some pressure on his mind before he remembered that he had read about her in Zane's journal, his eyes widened as he looked at her and said, "You are Zane's girlfriend."

"So you do know me, huh? You are his monster brother, because of whom he died, and now you get to be the CEO? You don't even deserve that, poor Zach; he should be the one at this post, and not you!"

Zhan clenched his fists as he said, "Mind your tongue; you know nothing about me! And Zane is dead. Don't you think it's time for you to move on?! Why are you wasting your time coming after me? It's going to bring Zane back, you know."

Sarah was enraged when she heard Zhan talk like that: "You don't even have an ounce of guilt after you let your brother die? Why are you so arrogant and selfish?"

"Just shut the fuck up and stay in your lane! Don't you dare talk to me as if you are superior to me; get lost." Zhan said.

Sarah was so mad that she threw her drink at Zhan, which shocked him. "I am not scared of you, Xiao Zhan, I am going to make sure that you suffer! That you lose everything as well!"

Zhan glared at her and said, "You are going to pay for this."

"Try me!"

"Sir, Are you alright? What happened?" Haoxuan asked.

"Just drive me home!" he said as he sat in the car and shut the door with a bang.

Haoxuan sighed as he sat in the driver's seat and drove the car. He glanced at Zhan from the mirror and saw that he looked angry. As he stared outside, God knew what was going on inside his mind.

Haoxuan sighed and said, "Sir, next week we have to go for our store's opening. I hope you remember that."

"I remember," Zhan grumbled.

Haoxuan did not speak after that; once Zhan reached his house, he went inside his apartment and collapsed on the bed. After a long day, all he wanted was a peaceful sleep.

"Sarah Sinclar is the daughter of the chairman of Zestify Dynamics." Zhan said, as he looked at Haoxuan, who nodded, and Zhan sighed as he leaned back on the chair. He pinched the bridge of the nose and said, "What else did you find out?"

"Well, she used to date your brother Zane and apparently the two were also talking about marriage when he passed away."

Zhan rolled his eyes, "so that's why she is coming after me." He smirked before he said, "Well then, I guess it's time to crush her and her damn company, Haoxuan from now we have to work harder, help me to prepare a strategy to take down these Zestify Dynamics."

"Sure sir."

"If necessary, send a spy there; if they are going to make this personal, then I'll show them that it's not easy to take me down."
