Chapter 35.

A month has passed since Zhan got Luhan.

The first thing that he did was arrange documents for Luhan and erase the past about his mother, Yuki, it was hard, but he knew that he had to do that.

People can never ever find out about Yuki's profession; otherwise Luhan would suffer his entire life about it, and so he erased Yuki's records and gave Luhan a new identity with his name. He did this to make sure that when he introduced Luhan to the Xiao family, no one can ever dig up any dirt on him.

And if anyone ever did, then Zhan would just have to silence them for the safety of his child. He was ready to do that, he was determined to make sure that Luhan would never suffer like he did. Other than that, he also hired Mrs. Nelson to take care of Luhan.

He had consulted several people and finally decided that it was not a good idea to cut out every close person to Luhan; hence, he contacted Mrs. Nelson, who was more than ready to help him, but he did not leave her alone with Luhan; he made sure to assign the guards to the house as well.

Zhan had also decided to keep Luhan's presence a secret from Xiao's for as long as possible; he never wanted his son to meet those leeches; that would be so much better for him.

He sighed as he leaned back on his seat. After all the work regarding Luhan was done, he felt relieved.

Another thing that bothered him a little bit was that Yibo still hasn't joined the company, which was very obvious, but a tiny part of him still wanted Yibo to come back.

He wondered how he was doing all this time; would it be a good idea to pay him a visit? Zhan was rather worried about him.

Suddenly he heard a knock on his door, and Haoxuan came in and said, "Sir, there is someone here to meet you."

"Send them in." Zhan said, and when he saw who it was, he was rather surprised. He spoke, "to what I owe this pleasure, Ms. Sinclair."

Sarah came before him and this time she didn't look hostile or angry; she looked calm and collected. "I would like to talk to you if that's fine with you."

"Oh, my, it looks like the sun has risen from the wrong side today. Are you sure you are here to talk and not accuse me?"

"I am here to talk." She said and Zhan nodded, "Please have a seat."

Sarah sat before him and sighed, "If its okay with you then I want to ask about everything that happened with you and Zane, please can you tell me the whole truth. I want to know as Zane's lover, please."

Zhan pitied her, and after a long sigh and a nod, he finally spoke, "Fine, then, I will tell you." And so he did. Never in his life had he thought that the first person he would share his pain with was Sarah, the woman who hated him so much, and by the time he was finished, Sarah looked like she was about to cry, but she managed to control herself.

Zhan offered her some tissues, but she refused, and after she collected herself, she finally said, "I am sorry."

"Pardon." Zhan asked, as he felt like he had heard wrongly, and Sarah repeated, "I am sorry, Zhan, I had no idea that you had gone through so much. You were right you shouldn't have been forced like that. All this time, I thought that it was your plan, some vicious plan to kill Zane." She took a deep breath, and then she said, "I believed Zach because I had met him several times and he looked friendly with Zane; they looked close to each other.

Besides his parents and ever since your parents confirmed what Zach said, that's why I hated you.

Zach had told me that he needed my help to get rid of you."

Zhan heard everything clearly and spoke, "So your company stole from us?"

"It was Zach who provided us with the information."

Zhan clenched his fists with anger. Never had he thought that his parents would not only actively ruin his life, but now they were after his reputation as well?

Zhan was raging now; he had enough; if this had been before, he would have let them off easily, but now that he had a son to take care of, his family could stoop so low and do something like this, and tomorrow they would do the same thing to his son! And he would never tolerate that.

And Zhan also had a hunch that his grandfather knew about everything and yet he did nothing.

Zhan clenched his fists and said, "If you are really sorry then can you help me gather evidence again Zach? I want to sue these bastards and make sure they lose everything."

Sarah nodded, "I will. Also, I had no idea about you and Yibo as well, I had no idea he did that to you."

Zhan shook his head and said, "it's all in the past, I...I have taken something precious from him as well, we are equal now, I don't have any grudge against him anymore, how is he anyways?"

Sarah shook her head, "I don't know, I haven't really talked to him these days and he is not answering my calls and texts as well, he must be really devastated."

"I see."
