Chapter 54.

"Mom, can I talk to you?" Zhan spoke as he saw his mother in the kitchen so early in the morning, the house was rather silent as no one had woken up yet.

Zhan's mom looked at him and said, "What do you want?"

"Mom, I think you were right." Zhan said in sad voice and he looked really miserable, "I think you were right to think that I was selfish, I was inconsiderate and selfish brat because of what I did to my brother, I am such a horrible brother and such a horrible person, you were really right mom."

Zhan's eyes became teary as he looked at her and his mother was stunned to see him like that, "what are you saying?"

"Mom after my accident happened and I was forced to be bedridden I finally realized that amount of pain that my dear precious brother had to go through and I am so sorry for that, I feel so bad, right now I wish I had done something more for Zane."

Zhan's mother looked at Zhan and Zhan suddenly grabbed her hand and said, "I am so sorry mom, I now understand your pain, you know mom I get it why you want to meet my son, and I have no problem in you meeting him."

His mother's expression suddenly changed as she looked at him and said, "what? Really?" she smiled and Zhan nodded before he said, "I now know your pain but mom before I let you meet my son, I want to be sure that he is safe."

"What do you mean?"

Zhan wiped his tears and said, "mom you know there is something I have to say, you know my accident was not an accident and it was planned, some one wanted to kill me and when I was in the hospital, I was all alone and I thought about many things, things like what if Zane had not committed suicide?"

His mother's eyes widened when she heard that, "what are you saying!"

Zhan wiped his tears but more tears came in as he said, "mom, I think that I Zane was a part of a conspiracy you know Zane was a perfect child, he was better than me in every aspect he was the best child, the best person anyone could be around, and he was so optimistic so how can he commit suicide?

And you know mom that when you came to my room and slapped me, I had lied to you by saying that I told Zane the truth in fact that day eight years ago when I last talked to Zane, I told him that I was going to give him my kidney I was ready to do anything for him because he was my brother. And you know what mom? I think that he was not really sick!"

Zhan's mother's face paled when she heard that and Zhan said, "mom, I mean if he was getting better then how come he suddenly got a kidney failure I think back then it was someone's conspiracy to make it seem that Zane was sick someone wanted to kill Zane and me both. They succeeded in killing Zane but then I went away so I was spared but now they are after me as well. And they might even come after my son!" Zhan said as he cried and shook his head looking like scared child.

His mother felt pity on him as she looked at him with tears in her eyes and Zhan said, "mom you can ask Sarah, she always thought that I killed Zane and she thought like that because Zane had said to her before that someone was after his life but it was never found who it was!

And ever since Zane died rumors spread that I killed him why? Why? why would Zach and his mother do that? And if me and Zane were out of picture then who gets the most benefits?

This is why I want to leave this place and run for my life! Mom what if they even come after my son? Do you want to lose the chance to raise a child again?"

"No!" she said as she looked at Zhan, she was quiet and in deep thoughts and Zhan knew that his work was done here.

What Zhan was saying really made sense, she looked at him and then thought about everything that happened, ever since Zane died why did Zach and his mother always said he was killed, he was killed and why they were always taking Zhan's name?

Perhaps they wanted to make Zhan a murderer and frame him for Zane's brother but since he went abroad nothing like that happened and ever since Zhan has came back, the mother and son are after Zhan, Zach even leaked the company's information.

"Mom." Zhan's mother looked at Zhan and he said, "What if another reason was that Zach hated Zane because he liked Sarah because he is always with her and he even brainwashed her and turned her against me. After all Sarah comes from a very rich and powerful background as well."

Right, Zhan's mother thought and suddenly many thoughts swarmed her mind. She suddenly got up and went to her room and once she was gone Zhan rubbed his eyes a little, "Fuck my eyes burn. Ow. I am never going to use that damn drop again."

The next person that he encountered was his aunt, she was at the rooftop watering the plants and he stood there as well, she looked at him and once again started to mumbled something, "why is he not dead yet."

"You said something aunt?" Zhan spoke, and his mother glared at him and said, "Why do you care?"

"Why wouldn't I care? You are my family after all."

His aunt snorted and said, "what are you playing at?"

Zhan smirked and said, "I am not playing at anything well let's just say that I now understand more about you, I sympathize with you and Zach, I have finally understood that the real enemy is grandpa and not you both."

"What do you mean?" she asked and Zhan said with a sigh, "I am scared for my life and wanted to resign from the position of a CEO and when I said this to grandpa he slapped me and said so many harsh things and then people to watch over me, he even warned me that he would take away my son from me if I dared to bring that up again, I swear I was so angry at him and then I said to him that Zach can take the place and I am even ready to withdraw the case."

"What?" his aunt's eyes widened, "What did you say?"

Zhan smiled as he said, "you know I am a parent too and I now understand you might be feeling aunt, how can I separate your son from you how can I do that to my brother? So, I took the case back and I think that Zach is more suitable to handle everything."

"Yes, yes indeed he is," his aunt said and Zhan spoke, "however you know what grandpa said? He said that I should not take the case back and even eliminate Zach since he leaked the information from the company. And grandpa wants him to go to jail."

"What?" she said and Zhan nodded, "I was against it and so he got angrier, why do you think that I am staying here in the Xiao mansion instead of my house with my child? Because I am being forced to stay here so that grandpa could control me! But no more I am done with him, I am going to help you aunt, I am going to help you go against grandpa and Zach should get everything and I want to leave the Xiao family."

Zhan added, "This is for Zach's own safety as well you know! I know that jail is not a safe space! You have to fight for your son! I can't do anything alone."

Zhan's aunt looked at him before she kept the watering jug down and went inside the house.

And once she was gone Zhan sighed and smiled, "this is so fun."
