Chapter 34.

"Uncle." Luhan called as he ran towards him and hugged him tightly, Yibo bent down and gently picked him up in his arms and hugged him tightly.

Luhan smiled while Yibo tried his best to control his emotions, he didn't want to cry in front of Luhan, "have you been a good boy?"

"Yes! I did my homework; I studied and the teacher also gave me a good for my maths homework."

"Wow, that's wonderful." Yibo said as he looked at Mrs. Nelson who was looking at him with pity and sympathy, she had taken care of Luhan as and was attached to the child.

Yibo gave her a nod before he took Luhan to his house, and there he spoke, "You know dear, tomorrow someone is coming to meet you."

He said as he gently put Luhan down and sat before him, "Who is it?"

Yibo gently caressed and said, "It's your dad."

"Dad? I have a dad."

Yibo smiled and said, "Yes you do. Are you excited to meet him?"

Luhan smiled brightly as he nodded, "Yes! All my friends have dads as well! I will also have a dad. Will my dad love me like you, uncle?"

"Of course, he will."

"Will he buy me toys as well?"

"Yes. He will. your dad is a good person, he will get you whatever you ask of him. He will love you a lot, would you like to live with him?"

Luhan smiled and said, "Yes."

"Great, you know you have met your dad before."

"When?"

"When you got lost in the mall and the uncle who helped you, he is your dad."

Luhan blinked before he smiled. "He is my dad? He is a good person. And he is pretty too."

Yibo's eyes became wet as he went ahead and kissed Luhan's forehead. "Of course. He will come and get you tomorrow; let's pack your stuff, okay?"

"Okay? I will take my drawings and show them to him."

"Of course," Yibo said as he took Luhan to his room but when he looked up he saw Sarah was there as well, she was crying, unable to control her tears.

Yibo said nothing and just started to pack Luhan's stuff. While the child was happy and completely unaware of what was happening, Yibo knew how much his heart was hurting; each passing second was like a stab to his heart.

After he packed Luhan's stuff, he played with him and made something for the two of them before he finally put Luhan to sleep and stayed by his side for the whole night.

The next morning Zhan did come to take Luhan with him, and while he waited for Yibo to come out with Luhan he was met with Sarah, who looked at him with disgust and said, "You are truly a monster."

"I don't want your opinion."

"How could you do this to Yibo? Don't you feel bad for him? Are you even human? Why do you love to ruin lives so much? Back then, you promised to give your kidney but you backed out at the crucial moment which led to Zane's death!"

"Wait what?!" Zhan spoke as he looked at Sarah sharply, "What the hell do you mean? I never agreed to give him my kidney!"

Sarah frowned, "What the hell are you saying? I was told that from the start you were okay to donate the organ and you wanted to help Zane but then you backed out because you were jealous of Zane! And you wanted him gone so that you can have his shares."

"What nonsense! Who the fuck told this to you!" Zhan said, "I was forced from start to donate! I never agreed to donate my kidney; my parents didn't even ask for my opinion. I was dragged and forced; I was even forced to donate my blood since I was a child, and I was scared for my life. That is why I tried to run away! But because of Yibo was caught and taken back!

I told all of this to Zane, and he committed suicide; he didn't die naturally."

Sarah looked at Zhan as if she had seen a ghost, her face was pale, and her eyes became wet, "he...he... committed suicide? I was told that... that...he died because of you... I... what? You are lying... how can he? How can Zane do that? He left me." Sarah cried as she clutched her stomach, "he left me, and our child...how selfish."

Zhan was shocked when he saw her like that, so from the start, it was a misunderstanding, "what child?"

Sarah cried as she spoke, "I was pregnant with his child, but after he died, I suffered from depression and ended up losing my child, that's why I hated you even more."

Zhan looked at Sarah with shock, "Who told you? who told you that I had agreed to donate my kidney?"

"Zach and his parents," Sarah said.

Zhan closed his eyes as he sighed, he looked at Sarah with pity, this entire time she thought that Zane died because of him and she didn't know that he committed suicide, well no one knew that Zane committed suicide how could they hide something like that from Sarah.

Zhan looked at her with pity and said, "I... never wanted him to die... I never really got to know him but I knew that he was a good person.... I directed my anger towards him, but it was my parents who were the real culprits. From the time I was a child, I was dragged to the hospital, and my blood was drawn without my permission. It was like I was born for this sole purpose and I hated that.

I had missed so many important events because of this and all of these built-up strong feelings of anger inside me made me want to escape and go to another city, but I was not able to... I directed this anger at Zane. After he died... I... I... don't know what to say...."

Sarah cried harder as she walked away; she needed time to herself.

Zhan saw her leave and sighed, soon Yibo came out with Luhan.

Zhan smiled at his son and glanced at Yibo. He looked pale, and he didn't even look at Zhan; it was like he was ignoring his existence. Luhan looked at Zhan, and Yibo said, "He is your dad; come on, go to him."

Luhan looked at Yibo before he walked towards Zhan, and Zhan smiled at him before he gently picked him up and hugged him, Luhan hugged him back, "Hi dad."

Zhan's heart swelled with warmth when he heard that word, and suddenly, he felt the need to protect this precious little thing in his arms. He hugged him tighter, his innocent little bean.

Zhan might not be an experienced father, but he decided then and there that he was going to be a better father, he was going to be a better parent, he wouldn't be like his parents, and he would do anything to give Luhan the best childhood.

"Hi, son," Zhan said with a smile. He then looked at Yibo, who was looking at the both of them.

Zhan made Luhan sit in the car before he looked at Yibo, who wasn't looking at him, "Yibo..." he started but Yibo stopped him, "get lost."

Yibo then said, "You keep your word and keep my nephew happy or else I will kill you." he said seriously.

"I will." Zhan said, "But I want to talk to you."

"I don't want to hear anything that's not about Luhan, now get lost."

Zhan sighed and said, "I was just saying that if you want then you can join the company once again."

Yibo looked at Zhan and smirked before he said, "Thanks a lot for this generous offer but no. Now leave already, please! It's painful looking at you. I don't want to be near you."

Zhan felt a pang in his heart and he felt hurt, he took a step towards Yibo, but the latter stepped back.

Zhan clenched his fist and stared at him for a few more seconds before he sat in the car. Yibo looked at Luhan, who waved at him from inside the car.

Yibo smiled at him and waved back at him before the car drove away, and once the car was out of sight, he couldn't control his tears anymore.
