Chapter 48.

"Yibo." Sarah spoke as she ran in the corridor, Haoxuan was already there talking to the cops and the hospital staffs, while Yibo sat on the chair with his head in his hands.

Sarah sat before him and asked, "How is he?"

Yibo did not move, and Sarah gently shook him, he finally looked up at her and, Sarah gently wiped his tears and said, "Yibo? What happened? Is he okay?"

"I don't know, I don't know, but he should be okay." Yibo said, he wiped his tears as he said, "he has to be okay."

Sarah looked at him and then saw his shaky hands, she knew that Yibo was in a state of shock, everything that happened was so fast and overwhelming that he wasn't able to process it, she gently held his hand, "he is going to be okay."

Yibo nodded, his face had no expression and he was rather quiet, his voice barely came out as a whisper, "Sarah."

"Hm..."

"How is Luhan?" he finally asked. He looked like a robot at this point, he wasn't crying, wasn't shaking anymore, he looked rather calm.

Sarah spoke, "I left him at my house, he is going to be okay."

"I hope that he is not alone."

"No, there are many people with him, I would never leave him alone." Sarah spoke, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, I wasn't the one who had an accident, I am not the one in the operation theatre."

"That's not what I mean Yibo."

"I know what you mean." Yibo said, "but I... he will be okay."

Sarah sighed as she clenched his fists, suddenly she looked at Haoxuan and he seemed free now, so she walked to him and said, "how is Zhan?"

Haoxuan looked at her and said, "We can't say anything right now, all we know is that his car was tampered with and we think that the collision that happened was planned as well, according to the bystanders, the car was not in speed and one car came towards his car with too much speed which was why he had to quickly turn the steering wheel, and the other car collided with his, which sent his car out of control and it crashed against a tree.

Mr. Xiao had also called the emergency services and thankfully they were able to reach to him right on time, so not much damage was done, he was awake when he was found. He was badly injured though."

"What about the other driver."

"The one who collided with Mr. Xiao was brought here, and he is being treated before he will be interrogated."

Sarah spoke, "did you inform his family?"

"Yes, I did."

"What did they say?" Sarah asked and Haoxuan spoke, "his grandfather just said that the work should not be affected and I was so angry after hearing that, that I couldn't care less about what the others had to say.

Surely, they don't care, I am sure this was planned. I told him to be careful."

Sarah closed her eyes and sighed, she looked back at Yibo and then at Haoxuan.

"So where is he?"

Yibo looked at the people who had come to the hospital, and Haoxuan looked like he was angry to see them.

Sarah just sat beside Yibo, while Haoxuan spoke, "he is fine, he..."

Zhan's parents and his aunt were the ones who had come to see Zhan at the hospital the next day, and that too out of formality, or because they had some other work.

"He isn't dead yet?" his aunt spoke viciously, before she scoffed, "wow, how stubborn he is just like a cockroach."

His mother spoke, "Mr. Haoxuan, what about his child?"

Haoxuan looked at M. and Mrs. Xiao and spoke, "I have no idea what you are talking about."

Mr. Xiao spoke, "oh please, the existence of a child cannot be hidden forever, we have seen the photos that our investigator had sent, he does have a child and as his grandparents we have the right to see the child!"

Mrs. Xiao spoke as well, "yes, since he is wounded and injured, the child is naturally our responsibility, we should be able to take care of him legally as well."

Haoxuan scoffed, "you are not going to ask about Mr. Xiao? At all? What happened? How it happened, you are not going to ask anything?"

His aunt spoke, "that's karma! Karma for killing his brother, for taking my son away from me! For ruining the lives of so many people, it will not surprise if he dies!"

Yibo and Sarah both looked at her sharply, Sarah spoke with rage, "can't believe that these are actually related to him by blood, how can they by his family? No wonder he is so fucked."

Yibo clenched his fists as he sat silently, however he wanted to kill these people so bad.

Haoxuan spoke, "ma'am, sir, I can't say anything without Mr. Xiao's permission, you are wasting your time, since I don't know much about anything."

Zhan's mother spoke with anger, "what if he dies! Who will take care of his son!

Why are you playing with the future of a child! Just tell us where he is and we will take good care of him! If my dear Zane would be alive today then he would be married and have a child as well, but...but...but since he is not here and we never got the chance to his see him get married or have children, it's only fair that we get to see Zhan's child."

Haoxuan wanted to punch this woman, "is Mr. Xiao really your son?"

Zhan's father spoke, "yes he is unfortunately."

Haoxuan spoke, "This is last time I am saying this, but I cannot help you, there is nothing I can do, so please just leave. When Mr. Xiao wakes up you can talk to him, you are not getting any information from me."

Zhan's aunt spoke and she looked like she was enraged, "that fucker! How cruel is he to deny his parents the right to see their grandson! I don't understand that why was he even born! You should have just got the abortion when the time was right Mary."

Zhan's mother spoke, "I did go for abortion but it was my mother and my mother-in-law who stopped me, otherwise, I didn't want another child! Giving birth to Zane was already enough. But if I had known that my son would be such a demon then I would have really aborted him at any cost."

His aunt spoke, "Bastard! He ruined my son's like, took Zane's life, I hope he survives but I hope he becomes disable and unfit to take care of his child! I hope his child gets taken away from him and by raised by us right in front of his eyes and only then he would be able to understand the pain and suffering of a parent."

A loud crash was suddenly heard and Yibo got up, he charged towards Zhan's aunt and he it looked like he was going to punch her, but Sarah grabbed his hand, even though she wanted to punch her herself.

Haoxuan also stopped him but he was enraged as well, Yibo looked dead in the eyes of Zhan's aunt and said, "you are so lucky that you are a woman, or you wouldn't have walked out of here alive." He took deep breathes, before he said, "all of three of you get out of here, and please drive safely accidents can happen with anyone."

"Who! Who are you to talk to me like..." Zhan's aunt started but Yibo spoke, "consider me your biggest enemy from today."

Zhan's father spoke, "we are his parents and his family, what right do any of you have to get us out of here?"

Yibo and the other two glared at them.

Sarah spoke, "you are his family? Then why don't you act like that?"

"How we act with each other should not be considered by outsiders." Zhan's mother spoke.
