"Don't make this harder than it already it. Just sign the papers." Zhan said as she stared at Yibo who was behind the bars.

He glared at Zhan and refused to speak, Zhan sighed, "you know right that I can ruin your career if I filed a case of assault against you, you might never get another good job I will make sure of that, your sister's past, your parent's deeds everything will be made public.

You are going to lose this custody anyway, either you do this the hard way or my way."

Yibo clenched his fists as he glared at Zhan, he refused to speak after that, he refused to even look at Zhan,

Zhan sighed and said, "fine, then my lawyers will deal with you. Don't worry you can contact Sarah get her to arrange a lawyer for you, but you are going to lose anyways.

Give up, you are fighting a losing battle anyways, your lawyer is going to give you the same advice anyway."

With that Zhan left, Yibo sat at the corner of his cell as he brought his knees up to his chest and kept his head down on them, before he started to cry once again.

Zhan was true to his words as the next day Zhan's lawyer came to meet him, and the cops and others all pressurized him.

The pressure was immense, being kept isolated and being questioned and threatened was getting on his nerves.

Soon Sarah came there as well, she looked tired as well but she was still worried about him, she brought the lawyer with her as well and the lawyer studied the case and gave his honest reply, "well, Mr. Xiao is the biological father of the child and he has against you, currently we have nothing on him.

Do you have any proofs against them that can make him seem like an unfit person to be a parent?"

Yibo shook his head, he had no proof about the bullying, about Zhan beating Dean to death, god knows what happened to him.

While Zhan has the proof of Yibo stealing from him, since he managed to obtain that old camera footage from the motel, and now this assault charges and to mention his financial situation and the past history of his family.

His father was abusive and a gambler, while sister was an escort, Zhan had a lot against him, plus he can easily bribe the judge as well." Yibo sighed, Zhan was right, it was truly losing battle, he felt devastated, broken and destroyed.

He wanted to cry, go to Luhan and hug him tightly, and take him away from here.

Sarah saw his state and sighed, "Yibo... it's going to be okay."

The lawyer spoke, "it will be hard to win against the father, and the cherry on the top is that you have no job Mr. Wang, and not much savings as well. The situation is definitely not under your favour. The long custody battle can take a toll on you, physically, mentally and emotionally, it can also affect the child, as they are not dumb, to not understand that something is wrong."

Yibo's lips quivered as he looked at the lawyer, "What are you saying?"

"We can go to court if you want, however there is a very less chance of winning, however if you sign the papers, we can still negotiate with the other party to permit you meet the child regularly."

Yibo clenched his fists as a permanent frown was etched on his face as he felt like his world was going to end.

What the lawyer and Zhan said was true, it was so true. He knew that he stood no chance, but it was his love for Luhan that he wanted to hold on and not let go.

But he still can't forget the fact that Zhan was the biological father of Luhan and its not good to keep the child away from the father, he was just his uncle and not father.

After all a father is father, and there is no way that Yibo can change that.

Having a father figure in love was important, and Zhan was right, if Luhan stayed with him, his uncle, then people will naturally assume that he is an orphan.

Zhan can protect him, Zhan can give Luhan anything he wants. He was just his uncle, and just a few years back when he learnt that Yuki was pregnant, he would fight with her nearly every single day to just abort the child.

He had never wanted Yuki to keep the child but was adamant on having the child and Yibo hated her for that, he didn't even check on Luhan when he was born, guess the karma was getting to him for trying to convince Yuki to get rid of the child.

Yibo took deep breathes as he kept his hand over his head, it was so hard for him to agree, because it felt like he was ripping his heart out by his own hand and trampling over it.

"Fine." Was all he managed to say, in a shaky voice.

"Wise decision." Zhan said to Yibo who walked out of the prison.

He was finally free and was ready to go home, to Luhan however as soon as he came out, he saw that Zhan was already waiting in front of the police station.

Yibo didn't even say anything to him, grabbed his hand and made him sit in the car and gave him the papers, "Sign them now."

Yibo looked at the papers and with shaky hands and great difficulty he signed the papers, tears constantly slipped from his eyes as he stared at the papers while Zhan took them away.

Yibo sniffed as he wiped his face and stepped out of the car, he started to walk but Zhan came out of the car too, "I will take you home."

Yibo did not reply he just kept on walking, Zhan sighed as he rushed and grabbed his arm, "I said I will take you home."

Yibo yanked his hand back as he glared at Zhan, "Don't touch me." He growled, "get lost, I don't want to see your face ever again! Xiao Zhan I.hate.you."

Zhan's heart clenched when he heard those three words from Yibo's mouth, he clenched his fists when he saw the hate in Yibo's eyes. He had never thought that one day he would hear these words from Yibo's mouth, but with his actions it was obvious.

Yibo spoke, "before today I have never regretted meeting you, or loving you, but now I do." Zhan's eyes widened when he heard Yibo say the words, 'loving you'

What did he mean by that. Love?

Yibo loved him?

"You what..." He moved forward but Yibo moved back, "don't come near me! Fuck! This hurts so bad." He spoke as he kept his hand over his chest and cried, he looked at Zhan and said, "I loved you so much Zhan, ever since I met you, that day when I spoke to you for the first time in the class, it took a lot of courage for me to approach you, I wish I had never taken that step.

I wish I didn't, I had waited and begged and prayed to God to meet you again to pay for my sins, we did meet in college, I guess one year of bullying was not enough, so now you took everything from me, congrats Zhan, I have nothing left now. Are you satisfied? Because if you are not then I am sorry, I have nothing left to lose.

I wish, I never went to see you that day, I wish I would have just killed my parents and saved Yuki, I wish I was the one in Yuki's place, I wish I was dead instead of her."

"Yibo..."

"Fuck off." Yibo said, "I hate you. I hate you so much!" he said before he turned and left.
