"I'm not that girl".I muttered to myself,"Don't be stupid Maya...He'd never love someone like you.."

No matter what I do,He doesn't notice me.

I noticed he liked Riley,She's a brunette,Right?I dyed my hair brown,Hoping he'd notice me.

Instead,He asked me why I had done that to my hair,And told me he preferred my natural hair colour.
Eventually, I changed it back.

Riley was a popular, Noticed by everyone,We used to be the best of friends...But let's just say,Popularity got ahead of her,And she ditched me...

Lucas,After all of this,Became my best friend,And I know,It probably sounds cliché, But I fell in love with my best friend.

But here's the part of the story which everyone knows,Which happens to a lot of people,Well I'll give you a clue,He doesn't like me back.

Otherwise he wouldn't be trying to get Riley's attention like he was a lost puppy, Desperate for attention.

Riley's best friend was another popular, Farkle.
Farkle had changed a lot,His hair had been cut shorter,He had grown taller,He was wearing designer clothing(Probably picked by Riley)and was loved by...pretty much everyone.

Whereas Lucas had stayed the same over the years,But I thought he was perfect,In every shape of form.

He didn't think of himself as perfect though, He had told me himself several times that he thought himself as "Not attractive", Because Riley still hadn't noticed him.

I had noticed him...,Why hasn't he noticed me..?

But I forgot,Love,At the end of the day is a game,You either win,Or lose.
And in this game,I was currently losing,I had been for a lot of years...
If only he'd notice me...

"Hey Maya".Said Lucas walking up to me,To take me to school as he did every single morning.

Yep,That's right.
Lucas picked me up for school considering we lived near each other, Besides,We've known each other all of are lives,We're not strangers,Are parents have known each other,Way before the two of us were even born,They were the best of friends are parents, But now,Me and Lucas were the best of friends.

Lucas's dad was best friends with my father,Micheal,But he died two years ago,In a car accident.

But,Lucas's father moved to Texas.

Lucas's mother was best friends with my mother,Katy, They went to highschool/Collage with each other.

"Hey Lucas",I smiled at him,"So...Are we gonna go to school?"I asked him.

"No".He joked,"We're going to the run down park,By the lake".He chuckled.

It really was a run down park,It was lovely when me and Lucas were children,But since we grew up a bit,Teenagers had ruined it,By littering,Destroying the parks property, And grafituing all over the once beautiful park.

"At least we've had good memories there"I smiled at him,"So wanna go now?"
