Chapter 29. A moment of madness

Maya's POV-

It had now been a month since the incident, I was fully recovered now.

Well,sorta recovered. I mean,What can you say?It wasn't that long ago,now was it?

Lucas and his family returned back to new York. My mom made me swear to her that I wouldn't return back to Texas,Especially after injuring myself. She didn't want the same fate to occur again. But I can't blame her.

Today was the first day of class. It was a Monday. I hated Mondays,and couldn't help but wish it was already Friday. I mean,Fridays are heaps better,right?

I was in class right now,speaking of it. I was sat down at my desk, Behind me was Lucas and the desk right next to me was Charlie. Lucas,for some reason,couldn't stand Charlie.
I assumed it was jealousy,but I couldn't be sure.

I felt someone Patting my shoulder. This was probably a sign of someone wanting to get my attention.

"Maya?" I turned around,It was Lucas. "Can we go to Topanga's after school?"
He smiled warmly at me. I honestly was in no mood for this,But I decided to agree to go anyway.

"Sure,I can't wait to go!" I said,Smiling back at him.

Charlie glanced at the two of us,He looked lonely. "How about Charlie goes with us?"

Lucas didn't look too pleased with the idea but he nodded. I quickly crept over to his seat,and whispered into his ear. "How about we set him up with Riley?" I whispered to him. I didn't really feel like Riley was the best option for him,But he would have someone to go with then.

Lucas nodded. He would have agreed to anyone I'd set him up with,Even if it was back of the class Brenda. He just didn't want the three of us all to go to Topanga's.
At least this way Charlie wouldn't feel too left out.

"Hey,Gardner." I said. He turned around and faced me,a smile placed on his face.

"Yes?" He asked me.

Usually I wasn't the type to set people up,But all I could hope was that this would work.
Surely, it had to. Right?

"Would you want to come to Topanga's with me and Lucas tonight? We're planning to set you up with someone so it can be a double date." I said, smiling at him.

"No,thank you." He replied. "I'm already admiring someone."

"C'mon Charlie, Who knows?You might like this girl even more." I said to him,laughing.

"I don't think so,but fine." He said,finally giving into what I had to say.

"Great." I grinned at him. "I can't wait!"

He laughed and grinned back at me. Lucas sat back in his chair. I glanced at him and turned to look at him. "Lucas,I can have friends,you know."

"I know,I know." Said Lucas. "But what has that got to do with anything?I didn't say anything to do with him,Maya."

"I just figured tha-"

"You figured nothing,Maya." Said Lucas,his tone was slightly gloomy, I thought it was to do with the whole me and Charlie issue but it could be something else.

I wasn't really that sure on anything at the moment.

Mr Matthews walked in,over to his desk. "Today class,We're going to all be doing a class project."
