Maya's POV-
It had been a full week since I had been out of the hospital. Maybe even longer,I couldn't be bothered keeping track of the dates since the incident.
I was still recovering.
I was using crutches for my legs to help me walk,My neck was fine. But at the very least it was sprained.
So I suppose not so fine as I make it out to be.
But I was going to be fine,I was going to get through this.
Lucas's mother demanded him to return to New York. She feared for his safety,She didn't want him having the exact same fate as I did on the bull.
But I could see why,It wasn't safe one bit. But or less something adults should do,And kids stay out of it.
Lucas had to come back to New York,Whether he wanted too or not.
Apart of me hoped he would be happy coming back,But I needed him back in are lives.
Charlie and his dad had been generous enough to stay the week in Texas,Waiting for me to make a full recovery. They did this since they knew we'd probably have a hard time travelling back.
It was kind of them. Too kind. I couldn't help feeling guilty about it.
I was sat down on a bench,Outside. I was thankful I still had use of my hands. I wanted to draw something, Drawing was a passion of mine which many didn't know about. But I loved it.
I grabbed my bag which was next to me and grabbed a pencil and my drawing pad out.
Carefully, I looked at the pencil in full detail to make sure it wouldn't need sharpening. Luckily, The pencil was perfect.
I than stared at the blank piece of paper. I wasn't too sure what to draw,Maybe I could draw everything around me.
Maybe the field here in Texas & the sky.
The sky was a bright blue,For some reason it fascinated me. I usually took interest into things like this ---- Nature,Or whatever was around me.
But I suppose that was because I'm interested in art itself.
I began to sketch what was around me. It felt as if that was the only way to get out of reality, and into a world where ..... there was no drama. Injuries. Arguments. Stress.
"What are you drawing?" Said a voice coming from behind of me said. I couldn't turn around to see who it was.
The voice then trailed off. The person walked in front of me,sitting down beside me. "Hey,Hart."
"Hey,Huckleberry." I said ,smiling at him.
"What are you drawing?" He asked me,glancing down at the piece of paper on my lap.
I shrugged. "Mainly what's around me."
"Ah." Said Lucas, continuing to look at the piece of paper. "That's the sky, is it?"
I nodded. "And that's a bench, tree,sun?"
I nodded once again. "It isn't much,But what can you do when your in my state?" I said laughing gently.
"That's true,I guess." Said Lucas,Smiling at me. "I want you to meet an old friend of mine."
"Who?" She asked.
"Zay."
Charlie's POV-
Me and my dad were doing some 'Father - son' bonding. Before we came to Texas he was originally visiting me and all of my sisters. My dad wasn't a part of are family anymore,He rarely visited. But he was there when you needed him to be.
He was there to visit me,Since my other siblings got on with my mom more.
I didn't get along with her,as much as the others did. I was basically the only boy in the family, The girls mainly made me do everything in the house. I was never free.
School,Topanga's, the cinema,Anything you can name was my only escape from them. Along with a certain hobby of mine; Photography.
My sisters found it pathetic that I was interested in something. They expected me to be doing stuff for them a whole twenty four, seven.
But it was a true interest of mine. That's how I came across Maya and her friends.
We all took photography, known as media,at school. Maya and her friends all took that class.
I didn't really have any friends. I had been at the school for a year but no one really noticed me.
I wanted to be in Maya's friend group for quite a while now. But I couldn't because of Lucas. Then Riley. Then Josh. They all started hanging around with each other but then stopped eventually, a while after that that was when Maya and Lucas started dating.
But long after Lucas went that was when me and Maya became friends.
We could have long conversations together, have fun. It was odd Considering I didn't usually get on with girls ---- Afterall,I live with them. But I got on with Maya for some reason.
I found her particularly interesting, But I didn't have a honest clue why.
We just got on.
"Son?" Said my father, interrupting me from my thoughts.
"Yes,dad?" I asked him.
"You've been really silent." He said, crossing his arms at me. "Your never silent. What's up?"
"Nothing,I was just thinking." I implied.
"Well that's something new." He teased, laughing.
"Hey!" I said ,laughing. "I do think. It's normal to think...right?"
"Son,of course it is!" He laughed. "Don't get so serious with me,I'm only kidding with ya."
I laughed too,joining in with him. "I know,dad. I know."
"Haha." He chuckled once more before finally stopping his laughter. "Anyway,How are you enjoying Texas?"
"Yeah,it's good. I might go and see how Maya is later."
"That's good." My dad nodded. "We'll be returning home in two days time or so now,is that okay with you all?"
"It should be. I'll go tell Maya and her mom & Lucas and his mom later." I replied back to him.
A/N~
I've finally included Zay,and given Charlie a pov. And I've actually updated. :-p
I can't promise frequent updates,Considering school is starting for me tomorrow, However,I shall try and update a little more.
