Chapter 11.Friendships are important

"Friendships are important, But they can be very quickly be taken for granted."
"So take the Friendship that you've got with delight,in hope that you'll always remain friends despite everything that's happened."

Lucas's POV-

The date night continued to get slower,and slower,Riley was slightly immature about what I had to say and decided to ignore me,Despite what I was saying.

But ya know what they say,Keep your friends close,You never know when your gonna lose them.

At this moment I honestly didn't care whether Maya liked Josh or not,I just wanted to continue being her best friend no matter what was going to happen next.

If she did like Josh,I was going to support her with whatever she had to choose.
I just didn't want to lose her.

I glanced at Maya who seemed to be enjoying herself,But it seemed to have been a slightly odd evening for her too.
Her and Josh,Several times throughout the evening, Seemed to have been arguing then being friendly towards each other.

I hadn't had a clue what they were arguing about,But all I could tell now was they were being very friendly to each other by the way it looked.

I was happy for her,Afterall,I wanted her to be happy,Despite me not being happy this evening but I knew one thing.

Maya's happiness was the most important thing to me,I wanted her to be happy,As long as I know her I'll always try and make her happy.
Seeing her unhappy felt like the worst feeling possible for me.

But I suppose that was an only natural feelings to have,Since we've been best friends for years now.

I decided to try and focuse on the rest of the evening, Rather then to dwell on the past.

"Riley?". I asked her,Because of what I had said Riley had began to shun me,Acting as if I was Invisible.

Despite me hoping we could just be friends rather then a couple she's not taken it well, I thought she would.
But I guess I was wrong,Not only have I lost my date,But a new friend as well.

I glanced over at Maya and Josh,They seemed to be having a great time,But Maya looked as if she was worrying every so often.

Josh had spent way too much time with my Maya,No..she isn't my Maya.

I felt just like a little kid,Arguing over my favourite toy,But Maya wasn't to be fighted over,She wasn't a toy.

This feeling I had..was jealousy, I was jealous of my best friend spending time with others.
[Note that Lucaya isn't going to happen just yet c: ]

" Maya." I smiled at her."Can I come and sit with you?"

"What about Riley?". Said Maya,Frowning slightly at me." She's all by herself."

"Yes,She is." I sighed. "But Josh could go sit with her,I just want to spend some time with my best friend."

Maya sighed at me,For a moment I thought she was going to tell me to go away,But I was wrong. "Fine!You can sit next to me for a bit". Sighed Maya once again,Giving into me.

" YESSS!" I yelled,a little loudly,Maya looked gobsmacked by my reaction.
"What?" I said shrugging my shoulders."I'm happy we can finally speak to each other."

"So am I." Maya smiled warmly at me before giving me a hug,We were never usually like this,But we were to caught up in the moment.

I happily hugged her back,I wish we could always be like this.

But I guess that's the bad part about growing up ,You don't get to enjoy simple things like this,I decided I didn't want to grow up for quite some time,I enjoyed just being a kid and spending time with my best friend,Maya Penelope Hart.
She hated her middle name but I loved it ,It was beautiful, Especially for her.

"Yo Penelope". I chuckled." I could get used to these hugs."

Maya rolled her eyes at me,and playfully punched my arm."Whatever cowboy. "

"Again,with the nicknames are we?" I wasn't angry with these nicknames, I actually found it kinda cute on how much effort she put into these nicknames.

"Of course not." She grinned at me. "I'm not the type of girl to give people nicknames ,Am I Sir?"

I chuckled to myself."Since when am I a sir?And yes you are,Miss Sarcasm Queen."

"Sarcasm Queen?" Said the blonde,Raising her eyebrows up and down at me.

"Yes...have you got a problem with that name?" I replied back to her,She looked quite upset by the name I had given her.

"Y-yes..." Maya sniffed quietly, She then put her head on her arm sleeve so I couldn't see her face.

"I'm so,so sorry Maya!I'll do anything to make it up to you!" I said instantly, Maya's happiness was the most important thing to me.

Maya lifted her head up slowly,a grin on her face."Really?Great!"

"Hey!why have you just perked up all of the sudden?aren't you still upset?" I asked,Clueless to her actions.

She continued Smiling,and then laughed at me.

She had pretended to be unhappy, Just so I would do something for her.
Great.just great.

"Hmm,You couldn't have Possibly.. I don't know..lied to me about being upset ,could you?" I chuckled,Pretending to be shocked.

"I would never...only joking." She laughed."Yes I pretended too."

I didn't say anything ,instead of a reply I just smiled at her,She smiled back,both of us not saying anything.

"It's not only until you've really looked at each other and made"
"A human connection that you can only begin to get to even know each other."

Maya ,after a while looked away ,I felt disappointed by this Slightly but I hadn't had a clue why..

I didn't really have any inspiration so this was made,Again,Sorry for any errors I still can't use my hand to well.

Buuuuuut Lucaya hasn't happened just yet keep in mind. :P
