'I SUGGEST THAT WE WORK OUT THE ENTIRE PERIMETER.' Marcus spoke, his words firm in the guard's ears, 'If we work that out, then we find the location of the shield who will most likely be residing inside the base of operation - the centre.'
An anxious-looking lower guard fiddled with the hem of their cloak, somebody nearby to them with similar features took notice - perhaps their sibling, stepped forward. 'But won't it be dangerous to go around that area? We all know what happened to Felix and Demetri.' The King's gaze snapped towards them, his eyes slightly narrowed.
'A war is not won without any risks.' Was his response to the attempt at a subjection given, 'Now, if it's so dangerous for you, perhaps we should stick you with the newer guards, hm? Remind you of our expectations?' Marcus had grown restless and was prepared to let it all go in order to get her back, and that would most likely take winning this feud.
The guard visibly tensed as they bowed their head, 'Of course, master.' They spoke quietly, now to as keen, if at all, to speak to the man.
'Now, any more objections to be given?' Marcus asked the room, but was met with deathly silence, 'Very well. You are all dismissed.' He ordered, gesturing to the door as he resumed being hunched over his desk, ruffling his hair in stress whenever his assumptions and predictions fell false.
Every spare second his mind had was consumed by his obsession of finding her, yet to do that was no simple task, god knows how long the Romanians have had to plan every moment of this war, coincidentally allowing themselves to be known when the Kings had an obvious weakness.
He couldn't bare to use his gift anymore, the tie they shared seemed to dim every time he did so, the flashing of black and crimson had started once more, the gold was rarely ever visible, it was just a reminder at how helpless he felt about the whole ordeal, he could've done more, he should be out there looking.
His head crashed into his palms as his body heaved with dry sobs, his mind, his heart, his soul, all tired of being tormented over and over, time was no friend of his, that was clear to him now, if only she had been mated to someone else, perhaps she would be safer, yet he couldn't imagine his life without her now, he was unsure how he had bared being unknowing of her before.

'WE KNOW YOU'RE LYING TO US, BARNES.' Voices of one particular goblin slithered into Liam's mind, the harsh pain reformed once again on his body as he gritted his teeth against one another, almost breaking them as he concealed his cries of agony.
'Tell.' A throb of excruciating pain revealed itself, 'Me.' Another. 'The.' And another. 'Truth.' The final blow struck his back as he finally screamed into the room, the sound echoing throughout the chamber.
'She is fucking nobody!' Were his words, yet they didn't seem to satisfy Cassius.
'Don't give me that malarkey, any vampire celled with a human pumped full of blood would be on them in moments, so tell me, why haven't I noticed any extra bite marks?' He hissed at the man, obviously sick of Liam's lies that he was adamant on telling.
