'SO, NOW THAT I'M A VAMPIRE, IT'LL BE EASIER?' Katherine asked Timothee, who nodded. 'Do you think that it'll be more powerful now?'

'Oh, most definitely, I can't exactly say much, my gift wasn't as potent as a human, though I could do small things, perhaps sometimes control a fire's movement, maybe extinguish if it were in an already lit area, streetlamps, that kind of thing.' he smiled, letting a small flame of his own dance around his fingertips as they both focused upon it. 'Maybe blow an idiot onto his behind with a little breeze.' Katherine giggled at that one.

'Timothee, I told you about what I did when I was younger, right?' He suddenly sat up a little straighter. 'The whole hallucination-illusion type thing?' she reminded him a little to jog his vast vampiric memory.

'You want to try it again and try and see if you can expand on it.' He guessed, to which she smiled sheepishly. 'Come, we'll try out in the main ballroom.' Timothee grasped her hand as they both sped towards the grand room, it was easily the biggest in the castle, and it had plenty of open space.

'Try and focus on whatever it was you did when you achieved it before, try and picture it in your mind perhaps, if you can.' he explained as she nodded in agreement.

Katherine tried to replicate what she'd do before, as a human, at first, she imagined a butterfly flying around the ballroom in her mind, and when she opened her eyes, she saw it, the small purple insect fluttered above Timothee's head, to her, it appeared slightly translucent, she could see through the illusion, but she wondered if Timothee could too.

And so she tried to project it towards him, and suddenly his eyes widened as he could see the creature, but to him it didn't appear see through by any means, it was like it was right there before him, but as he reached out to touch it, his hand went through it.

He shuddered slightly, trying to shake off the odd feeling he felt. 'Try something bigger, just don't hurt yourself.'

This time, she imagined the ballroom in her mind, but instead of being pristine and polished with beautiful royal embellishments, it's walls were instead climbing frames for vines, the floor now coated in beautiful golden leaves that fell from the ceiling. It seemed so magical in her mind, that when she opened her eyes to see Timothee walking around in shock, she wasn't surprised herself.

After a few moments of awe, he suddenly spoke out. 'Forget the illusions, try and do what you did that day in the Throne Room, I want to try and work on everything you've ever done at some point, obviously not all today.'

'Where I set the man on fire?'

'When you set the man on fire.' he smirked, laughing a little. 'What happened, do you know?'

'It was like the heat from the sun just seemed to come to me, through the light I suppose.' she thought out loud, she knew it probably wasn't crazily scientifically accurate, though she guessed vampires weren't really either, yet here they stood.

'Try doing it again, try it on me.' he pulled up his long sleeve of his button up, exposing it beneath the sunlight. She winced visibly as she looked uncertainly at his arm, hesitating. 'Don't worry, I've dealt with much worse ensoleillé.'

She felt the heat flow through her palms through the rays that poked through the windows, she then tried to push it towards Timothee's skin through her own his face visibly contorted into one of pain and he ripped his arm away, a bright red glowing hand mark left upon his arm.

'Putain d'enfer.' he cursed beneath his breath as he shook his arm about, trying to soothe the angry-looking mark. Katherine cringed as she held her own arm in the same area, not wanting to imagine the pain he felt. 'Let's maybe move onto something else now.' Timothee suggested as he tried to settle the pain slightly with a cool breeze.

'Remember when you fell from high up that day? You quite literally created a mattress from thin air, do you remember doing that at all?'

'Er.' Katherine thought for a moment, 'I think so? Not very well, I think I passed out after thinking, praying, in my mind that something would catch me.' she fiddled with her fingernails uncomfortably.

'Ensoleillé. I don't even know how to describe whatever gift you have, you're insanely overpowered, we need to be careful and ensure that you can maintain whatever this is. You are a result of the two most powerful vampiric bloodlines merging into one, a gift like yours was inevitable if I'm going to be honest.' he placed a hand on her shoulder, causing her to pause her previous actions and look up at him.

'Just be patient with yourself and take time to get used to your gift, Jane and Alec definitely had to take a while to deal and grow with theirs, learning to control it and not randomly send someone to begin writhing in pain or numb to anything. Maybe if you had a gift like a shield or something that's pretty simple to deal with, then you wouldn't need to do things like this as much.' she smiled at him meekly. 'We'll try something like this every other day, it's best to give yourself time to breath.'

'Thank you Timothee.' Katherine stood for a moment, before choosing to sit next to him again. 'Do you know when Aro and my father are returning?' she asked, frowning slightly.

'Probably tonight, I think they've caught the two they went for, Rudiana and Emilia.' Timothee explained, to which she simply nodded, the two both equally detested Rudiana, but Katherine never really knew Emilia all too well, so she didn't feel as much betrayal when it was revealed that she was actually working with the other side.
