'YOU KNOW, I ASSUMED YOU'D BE BACK AT THE CASTLE.' Liam commented as he walked beside the raven-haired male. 'Y'know, planning your wedding.'

'You don't think I've been creating plans in my mind or elsewhere since I first saw her?' He replied back, smirking as Liam rolled his eyes.

As of their current location, they had travelled to a small fishing town located on the coast that was quite frankly in the middle of nowhere, all that Liam knew was that it contrasted the hot Italian weather that had passed recently.

They had been chasing Rudiana Andrei and her mother for a while, along with the other key members of the coven they had defeated, collecting any scraps of information they could to ensure they could pinpoint where they had tucked themselves away.

'I'm assuming you spoke to Cassius?'

'I believe he rather enjoyed our conversation, I know I did.' Liam simply answered, in the midst of the silence between them that followed after, he began humming an old tune he remembered from his human childhood.

The breeze from the sea ran through the elder vampire's hair, he could taste the saltiness of the waters simply from it. 'I've written to Demetri, about him finding Vladimir and Stefan. We're hoping that they've not found yet another shield, they're growing quite annoying at this point. I don't know where they've all sprung up from.' He added bitterly.

Liam snickered. 'You're telling me, I heard that the Romanians had their eyes on at least ten humans with the potential to be a decent-ish shield.'

Aro rolled his eyes. 'And we have recently discovered one wandering around in vampire business near Forks, Washington.' he scoffed, annoyed at the idea of the human Swan girl, as much as he was surprised by her shield strength, he heavily disliked her stupidity.

'It's ironic, I think there were only two or three in the book that dates my bloodline.' Liam added on, the two finally able to converse about something that didn't end in an argument.

Finally, they arrived in front of an old fishmongers shop. The peeling text upon the wooden sign was in a language Liam didn't understand, if he was perfectly honest, all he knew was that they were in some ancient Scandinavian fishing village.

The door was already wide open, a strange idea given the rain that had began to pour an hour before, now heavily lashing down upon the small working area. Inside, a woman was putting away several kinds of small fish that lay stacked in multiple crates.

She seemed quite young, her hair a light brown, her mannerisms weren't ones that matched the people you would see among those here, her posture was excellent for a start, unlike the man outside who had threatened him with a fishing rod for wandering too close to his boat.

'Ah, I'll be with you one moment Mother-' Her recognisable voice spoke as she heard footsteps, yet no heartbeats. She then turned, her face morphing into one of horror as she came face to face with one of the Kings and his soon to be father-in-law, though both despised the idea of that title.

'Hello there, Rudiana.' Aro smiled keenly at the young girl, holding his hand out for her to shake. 'It has been a while, I must say.'

Rudiana looked at his outstretched hand and scoffed. 'You don't think I'm that stupid, do you?'

'It was worth a chance, you know I'll have to do it one way or another, we still do need to find your dear mother.' Aro shrugged as he returned his arm back to his side. 'Liam, would you be so kind?'

The man rolled his eyes as he suddenly grasped the female in his iron fist, glaring at her as his eyes darkened. Literally. 'Hurry up, I actually want to be there to walk my daughter down the aisle with some preparation as to what the hell is happening.'

Aro then moved to press his hand lightly against hers, allowing every thought she's ever had to flood into his mind, his eyes turned glossy for a moment, taking in all of the new information that passed through his head.

'Ah, you didn't take anyone else with you to hide out here?'

Rudiana suddenly made a harsh attempt to rip out of Liam's grasp, but failed miserably. 'I didn't care about anyone else, they didn't even try and save my father from you!' She sneered.

'Probably because he didn't care about them.' Liam grunted as he only tightened his grip upon Rudiana, slimming her chances of escaping once more. 'The git died from his own stupidity, he only has himself to blame for his death.'

Aro smiled, satisfied as he knew it was only a waiting game before the girl's mother returned from her hunt to feed. Emilia had been using her gift excessively to ensure that their time here wouldn't spread.

'Hm, it appears we'll just have to wait for a bit. Don't want to make a scene, do we?'

'Hurry up, Volturi.' Liam groaned, he couldn't stand the heavy stench of fish for much longer, a trait he had passed on to his daughter.

Luckily, the woman known as Emilia soon passed into the threshold, instantaneously dropping the crate of fresh stock she had been carrying beneath her arms. Allowing Liam to grasp onto her with his hand he had freed by snapping her daughter's neck to temporarily leave her unconscious.

'Ah, Emilia, it has been a while, no?' Aro smiled so welcomingly, it made the woman feel nauseous, knowing that that's what he did, what his game was.

'Aro.' She replied bluntly, scowling at him and Liam. 'So I suppose you're just going to kill us now, like you did with my Bruno?'

'That's right isn't it, you're the one with the curse, the famed vampire that was turned, cursed with the most insufferable pain - to be mated to a one that is not to you, but to another. A true Shakespearean worthy idea I must say. Thankfully, it is a rare one indeed, I do think you're the only case I've seen of it.'

The grown woman squirmed in her hold, her anger bubbling over, blinded by rage so easily was Emilia, blinded by her love for the man who could never love her. 'Just get it over with, will you? Kill me now!'

'But you may still have some use to us yet, dear Emilia, don't you worry just yet.'

'How did you even find us here, I ensured that we had covered our tracks, that long ago I persuaded Demetri to never track us!'

'Did you not realise that you are quite literally depleting this little village's population and leaving no reasons as to why? Nearby towns have noticed, in case you have forgotten, word spreads throughout our allies.' Aro smirked.

'Fine, but in no way will I ever work with those who did what you did, so don't even think that I'll use my gift for you.' She snarled. 'Just keep your hands off of my daughter.'

Aro opened his arms for a moment, freeing his hands from their clasp, stepping forward slightly toward the vampires. 'I'm afraid that isn't a possibility, Rudiana has done things, some are naturally obvious, yet others are ones that I shall not mention now, but they will have to be dealt with I'm afraid.'

'You're a monster.' Emilia sneered at the raven-haired man, Liam rolled his eyes in response.

'Aren't we all?' He snapped at her, twisting her neck as she fell to the floor.
