'WHAT IS GOING ON?' Katherine enquired as she followed Timothee whom hastily walked towards a destination she wasn't sure of, the castle layout now seemed new to her, it looked so different. She was grateful he didn't force her to use vampiric speed, she was still getting the hang of it and didn't wish to crash into a millennium-old wall and destroy it on accident.

Although she did expect to have a more heart-warming reunion with her best friend, she knew this was much more important... Whatever it was.

'You'll understand.' He spoke, his words were more short, finely cut, something she wasn't used to receiving from Timothee.

And now she realised where they were headed, from the darkness that now grew, and the cries of pleads for mercy. Yet she didn't understand, why the hell were they here? 'I thought I'd show you before word gets out to your father.' He muttered uncomfortably beneath his breath.

They now stood before rows upon rows of cells, they were inhabited by the most atrocious of our kind, yet one called out in familiarity, the hair of this character was heavily dishevelled and messy, his darkened eyes that were once ruby now simply stared out into nowhere.

'How charming.' His voice that used to be smoother than butter as it glided upon words, now echoed with a gruff edge, bend with his obvious betrayal he felt. 'You've come to torture me for information you think I have.' His eyes never moved from wherever they stared, away from the two current members of the Volturi.

Timothee stepped forward. 'We're not here to torture you, I'm sure your good acquaintance Liam will be glad to take care of that.' Cassius simply let out a "hmph" as his eyes still never wavered from that one spot.

'Why'd you do it?' Katherine enquired, she knew he wouldn't give her a proper answer, but she thought it was worth a shot.

He let out a short laugh. 'I've done a lot of stuff, little one. You'll have to be a little more specific.'

Of course, the brunette sighed mentally. 'Sleep with my mother.' She stated.

'My answer isn't something I'd love to share with her daughter if I'm perfectly honest.' He grunted, she knew it would've been something like this. 'Listen, we both know that I'm not going anywhere until I know where I can find the rest of your coven that most obviously abandoned you, seeing as they aren't here. I know you probably don't know their exact locations, but you must know something. If you won't cooperate, we'll find a way ourselves to track down Rudiana and ensure that your bond with her will cause you a pain that my mates felt at multiplied rates, a taste of karma won't do you too badly for all of your crimes.'

'I was just like you once you know.' He pointed his pale, slightly bony finger toward Timothee. 'A newly promoted Elite, I was scouted out by Eleazar,  a vampire who would have such a powerful gift. But once they found out the dangers of it... They began to fear what I could do.' His voice began to grow louder as he spoke. 'I had the ability to become another, to become anyone I wanted. I could become the most beautiful male in the world and women would fall at my feet.' He continued, but as he spoke, I noticed his skin shifting slightly, his features changing.

'Before my death, before my transformation took place, I fought in a war, I pledged my loyalty to my country, to my squadron... I pledged my loyalty to them, they turned their backs on me. I was protecting them all, then I was captured by the opposing side. Where I was tortured so much my body became beyond repair... Beyond anything, except vampirism, though that was also a close one, even vampirism couldn't heal those wounds.'

Then she saw it, the scars, the bruises that littered his skin, gashes so gruesome that most would've thrown their insides onto the floor. 'I'm hideous.' His voice now became raspy as his hair was no longer smooth and silky looking despite it's dishevelled state, it was now raggedy and thin.

'I'm a creature nobody could want.' He stated. 'That damned warlock ensured that I would feel that feeling of self-hate by giving me my ability, to be anything I wanted, knowing that nobody would want me.' His voice seemed to crack midway through each word. 'One day, I found someone who actually made me feel at home, someone whom didn't care about the bruises, your mother cared for me in a way I hadn't seen in a decade. But as soon as that magic-wielder found out about that, he ensured she would despise the world, and herself. He gave her an ability so haunting I had to go.'

Katherine frowned. 'Rudiana doesn't know, does she? About you and my mother, about you?' She concluded.

'I thought... I thought that if she knew, she'd never stay by my side, she'd reject our bond... Although I wish she did now, the guilt that I feel because she isn't married to the perfect man she thinks she is, it's more painful than any bond ripping apart-'

Just as the redhead was nearing the end of his sentence, heavy footsteps echoed throughout the chamber of the dungeons, and Katherine mentally sighed - she was almost at an answer.

'So you've found the oaf?' Her father's familiar voice bounced off of the walls until he came face to face with Cassius, with only the metal bars protecting the latter vampire from the gifts of Liam Barnes. 'Well how funny is this? The tables have most definitely turned, hey friend?' He knew exactly what to say to Cassius to ensure he would be riled up. 'Wow, y'know, I much prefer this side of the bars. How about you?' He turned to Timothee and Katherine, who both just looked at eachother in pity as they witnessed the pettiness of the girl's father.

'Dad.' Katherine warned him, trying to tell him they needed Cassius to trust them enough to tell them the locations of the rest of them.

'Don't worry, angel, I'll ensure this ends in the way that'll satisfy us all.' Then he turned to Cassius. 'Well, most of us.' He was too blinded by vengeance, he just wanted to see Cassius suffer as he made him suffer, and if they needed information, he'd ensure he worked it out of the weasel's mind.

A darkness seemed to pool throughout the Barnes male's body, it pulsed with his heartbeat, it ran along his venom throughout his veins. He could see the darkness within the ginger, he could see his disapproval with himself, although Liam was not able to tell what for, he noticed the guilt, the desire for vengeance...

'So... Cassius. Where is your beloved?' Liam asked, knowing he wouldn't get an answer. Yet he now saw a part of the darkness inside of Cassius grow and pulsate... The guilt. 'What is it, what have you done to feel such guilt?' Liam asked another question, his tone becoming deeper, more demonic by the syllable.

He began to plant images into the mind of his enemy, scenarios of the redhead and Rudiana, scenarios that were usual causes of such guilt... But the case was that none seemed to trigger the already set guilt, except one... Yet he knew why he felt this guilt already, he knew it was because he had slept with the creature that birthed Katherine Reine.

Barnes began to grow frustrated, the darkness inside of him seemed to take over as he melted into the shadows of the corridor and into those inside of the cell, a dark aura began to surround him, feeding off of the despairing emotions within the several cells. It began to turn him into something worse than Katherine had seem him become when his power overtook him before. He seemed to not just become the darkness, but to lead it, to make it darker if that was even possible.

It was then that Cassius began to scream, the mental torture of horrific images that were planted inside of him began to get to his mind as they proceeded to get worse by the moment, graphic, gory, atrocious images now flooded him.

Another scream filled the air as Timothee looked to Katherine, who seemed to be in a far off place now, clutching her chest, her eyes distant as she fell to the ground, mentally not where she lay. And that's when the curly-haired one realised.

The candlelight, any form of light within the area was now dimming as Liam's aura grew stronger, and that's when he realised that not only was Liam harming Cassius, but everyone in the area, cries shrouded the particles that flowed throughout the space.

But he was confused why he didn't see his worst nightmares, his darkest fears, until he saw that the little light left in the room was pulsating around him instead.
