MARCUS HAD CRADLED THE GIRL'S LIMP FRAME, brushed her hair out of her eyes as she slept, tended to her every need. She had been sleeping for several days now, no the poison had not yet been completely cleared from her body, yet her skin had slowly become less pale, yet the sun had been hidden in the clouds throughout the globe, light had not touched the Earth for days now, yet on one fateful day, the sun had escaped from behind the clouds.

Marcus had taken it upon himself to give her the medicine she required daily, while Aro had organised a schedule they would follow to spend time with her fairly, much to Caius's delight; he had been sour about the fact Marcus was able to help her and he couldn't.

Today it was an occupied schedule for the Kings, several laws had been broken by many and the dungeons had been expanded and overcrowded several times; trials had been left for too long and they had to be resumed.

Aro was sat in the elaborate throne in the centre, while Marcus sat to his right, Caius was nowhere to be found; he was sitting with their beloved in his quarters, most likely pouring soup down her throat, making sure her needs are tended to. Most would be shell-shocked to know that the fierce king was being so gentle, around a human especially, he had the highest point on the 'human haters' chart among vampires in terms of reputation, he detested them, but there was an exception, and this exception was not human yet a piece of his heart, as he was of hers.

'Miss Summers?' Aro called out to the group of people standing in the throne room, smiling innocently as a young brunette girl gallantly strolled towards him.

'You have been around our mate, yes?' He asked

'Not for long, but I met her when I caught her in my parent's vacation house in Perth, she was with these morons.' Ruby answered, her tone holding traces of annoyance as she mentioned the two Daunt brothers.

'Of course, Mister Daunt? The both of you please.' Aro called yet again into the crowd at his feet

The two men stepped forward, one stared down the raven-haired man in front of him, whilst the other just looked at his forehead, not wanting to make eye contact at all, he was only doing this to stay alive and help the girl he met only days ago. He didn't object to Italy of course, he had noticed that the locals in Volterra had indeed been outside sunbathing on their rooftops, as if the sun hadn't been out for days.

The plucky brother whom had the confidence to stare down the man who could and most definitely  would end his life within moments if he made one wrong move directly. He also was enjoying Italy, he had about 6 girls offering to take him into their homes to meet their mothers and was enjoying every moment of it.

'You were the ones who, and I quote "Rescued that lass from the devils!", would I be correct?'

'To be fair it wasn't from the devil, we just found her in some dingy-horror-movie-lookin'-cell-torture-chamber room in this building downtown.' Monte blurted out, he noticed that as she said the last part the brunette man on the other throne had stiffened visibly, his eyes turning darker than the red, he had yet to ask about those awesome contacts, he could use them to scare the shit out of Jack next Halloween, because they looked legitimately real.
