AS TIMOTHEE MOVED KATHERINE OUT OF THE SCENE, she came around to her stronger, usual self now that the darkness was not battling with her light she had shrouded Timothee in, leaving herself exposed.
'Let's hope that doesn't happen at your wedding.' Timothee joked, lightening the mood as she gave him a cross look. 'What?' He exclaimed. 'He may end up refusing to give you away.' He added on, smirking at her.
Though it did make her ponder, if there was a wedding, what would it be like?
A soft song of a bird caught her attention, it's melody so unique now as she heard another sing back to it, they each had a slight difference, and she noticed it as clearly as daylight now, whether it be in the prolongment of the notes or the pitch.
Timothee suddenly gripped the female's arm, causing her to turn around to him, he seemed to study her eyes. 'Has the thirst been bothering you at all?' He asked her.
It were as if he spoke a magic word, one that acted as the big red button, almost instantaneously, she felt that irritable itch that had sat in the back of her throat turn into a sore pain, like her entire throat had dried itself of anything at all.
'A little.' She responded. 'It didn't bother me too much until just now.' Her reply was blatantly honest, she felt no need to lie, nobody was expecting perfect control...
Were they?
The male lifted his wrist as he slightly pulled up his ebony sleeve and smiled, obviously satisfied with the time his watch read. 'Heidi will be arriving any moment into the throne room with the tourists soon... I'll send a human up into your room, the masters wish to be there for your first feed or I can always arrange for something like a blood bag to be brought into your chambers if you didn't want to-' He spoke.
'I think I'll be fine with a human.' She said, knowing it was the easiest option for everyone, besides the human of course. Katherine began moving towards her wing of the castle, listening to the bird's song the entire way, smiling slightly at the serenity of it as it blessed her newborn ears.
She decided to change into a deep periwinkle gown, feeling that the brighter colour matched the tone of the day outside, the sun had seemingly never beamed so brightly onto Volterra, the townsfolk were most likely relaxing in a blissful weather.
The brunette moved towards her vanity, hands quickly gliding through the drawers until she found the one that harboured her bracelet that had found it's way back to her, smiling, she fastened it hastily onto her wrist, though she ensured her sleeve covered it.
A slow steady breath released itself from her chest as she could smell the scent of the blood that belonged to the staff, but she attempted to control her inner-self, harnessing it, to attempt to soothe the irritation that grew worse as she thought of it. Katherine decided to attempt to distract herself, instead choosing to read a novel she had plucked from her beside, it was probably one Marcus had left for her, she smiled at the memory, he would constantly leave new books for her to read to aid her task of distracting her mind from the horrors.
'Ah, there's my beauty.' She heard a voice call out a few moments later, setting her book aside, she got up onto her feet and walked towards the blonde male, his eyes glistening with the flame of passion she adored.
'Then you must be my beast.' The brunette replied with a smirk as she pressed her lips onto his, pulling away after a few moments as she heard the oncoming footsteps of her other mates.
As they came into the room, so did a strong stench of human blood, and that's when she noticed the additional person.
The male stood at about 6 feet, soft bleached curls sat atop his head and his eyes were as vibrant as the sky, she only hoped that the brightness of their eyes did not reflect their soul, but, it was the circle of life, it was the food chain, humans sat below vampires, that was how it was written.
She didn't even need to think twice, her body seemed to act upon an instinct, the one that had sat dormant inside. The blood that rushed down her throat was heavenly, it was only now that she realised how thirsty she was, that her throat must have felt as dry as the Atacama Desert, yet she couldn't focus on this now, the only thing her mind seemed to care about was the gushing substance that she pulled from the male human.
She almost was tempted to find another human after the current one had dropped to the floor, her instincts inside of her screaming into her ears to do so, yet she pulled herself back, knowing that she needed to control herself.
A hand placed itself tentatively upon her shoulder, her tense figure relaxed almost instantly as Marcus's grip kept her anchored. She began to regulate her breathing a bit better now, the slight amount of human blood left in the room began to blend it's scent with the fumes that were released by the air fresheners that Heidi had planted.
'You'll grow used to it, it won't exactly become normal, but it won't be as difficult to withstand after a while, unless you come across la tua cantante.' Aro explained, trying to distract her from the scent that belonged to the blood of countless human staff. 'We've had to execute several that had found them inside of Volterra's walls.'
Katherine found herself being gently guided towards a seat by Marcus, she stayed close by him as they rested upon the sofa, practically trying to merge into him with the close proximity.
'Have any of you found yours?' She asked, also trying to take her mind off of the blood.
In response, the three brothers never moved their gaze.
