A bouquet—no bouquets. Plural.

Bouquets of various flowers so vibrant they seemed to pulsate with life, like something plucked them from a dream, welcomed me.

And if it wasn’t enough, there were chocolates, too many of them.

What attracted me most were the pictures around me. Pictures of me and Ruvit. Our memories. Then his presence behind me.

Yes, I broke down, but his words were enough to make me feel at ease as he placed all the broken pieces together.

But then suddenly he scooped me in his arms and said.

“By tomorrow, all you will be thinking about how deep I was inside you. All you will be concerned about is how to walk properly.”

My heart beat with a frantic rhythm as he went on proving his words through his actions.

He made me sit on the bedroom couch, with my legs touching the carpet beneath it. He walked behind, his eyes locked on mine.

Leaning against the bed frame, he rolled up the sleeves of his white shirt.

There was a hint of tired strength in his posture, probably because of the efforts he put in to decorate this room.

But that somehow only made him more captivating and hot.

“What’s your favourite chocolate?” His voice rumbled around me, deep, deliberate and playful.

There was no rush in his stance, no demand. Just a patient, watchful presence.

“Mr. Rathore,” I called out lovingly, and maybe I spotted his ears turning red. “Yes, Mrs. Rathore?”

He stammered—really deflected—as if my two words were enough to get control over him.

“I am already Mrs. Rathore to you and yet, you don’t know about my favourite chocolate?” My sweet voice turned into deadly.

I pouted in anger when a chuckle escaped his lips. “Madam, for your future husband’s sake, your favourites keep changing.”

“Uh, huh.” I rolled my eyes sassily, but that didn’t give away my pink cheeks.

“And that’s wae, I ordered each and every chocolate from across the world.” He added, a mischievous gleam in his black eyes.

“Though, most of them didn’t reach in one day.” He tapped his fingers on the top of the bed frame, his engagement ring shining brightest in the room.

“Now,” He trailed off. “Your favourite chocolate for the night, sweetheart?”

Even in the air conditioned room—which was already on when I entered this room—I felt my whole body heating up.
