Her voice.
The realization hit me like a revelation, staggering me in place. It was impossible to believe, yet undeniable.
Her voice—the very one I was hearing now, was the same enchanting melody that had captivated me on that day.
My mind had tormented me, making me believe I was going crazy, falling for two different girls.
But now, it all clicked into place.
I didn’t know where my destiny was meant to lead earlier, but now it belonged only to her.
Only her—Aridhi.
I didn’t care what God had written for me, he had to change it. Or maybe, he has already written the two of us as one.
Damn, when did I become like this? Talking to God as if he was my best friend.
Nevertheless, a profound sense of relief washed over me.
I was so incredibly glad that Aridhi was the owner of that beautiful, soul-stirring voice.
I hadn’t fallen for two separate girls, but for two facets of one extraordinary woman—the voice that had utterly entranced me, and the beauty that I had come to worship.
It might seem strange to fall for someone just because of their voice.
But to love the owner of that voice, to adore the person behind such a captivating sound, felt incredibly pure.
This wasn’t mere attraction or a passing crush. It was something different, something absolute, something that completed me.
If it was an obsession, then yes, I was utterly obsessed with her.
But the overwhelming way I felt for her, the intensity that consumed me, was nothing short of love. Pure, true love.
I would happily burn the whole world down for her now.
Flashback ends.
“So that was how you two became best friends.” Mum said, her gaze shifting between me and Dhruv, a knowing smile playing on her lips.
“And how he met his Ardhangini.” Dhruv smirked at me.
“Yeah.” I smiled, the memory of Aridhi’s radiant face warming me from the inside out.
“He’s been whipped for her from the very first day.” Dhruv exclaimed, throwing an arm around my shoulder.
“But we don’t know how Aridhi truly feels. She never spoke about this matter.” He sighed, a hint of genuine concern in his voice.
I stared at me, thinking about what he just said.
Yes, Aridhi never talked about her feelings for me. For her, I might just be her friend—male best friend.
