Chapter 28: Monster Battle

3rd person pov:

Bakugou goes at makia, and yet the big beast doesn't flinch.

When the blade makes contact. It's deflected by makia's hardened skin.

Baku:"What the fuck?"

A deafening rawr of a laugh fills the air of the arena.

Mak:" small blades tickle like feathers. Now it's my turn."

As makia goes to backhand Bakugou. He goes to jump up to avoid it. Only to remember something.

Baku:^Shig:"Don't jump over  his attacks. It'll only get you killed. He loves to go for the legs."^

Baku:^I was wondering why he told me to do that. When the berserker never went for too many low blows. Now I understand.^

As one arm goes low. The other hand comes from another angle of attack. So Bakugou backs away to get a clear view.

Baku:^He's a slow attacker, but one wrong move, and I'm dead.^

Bakugou smirks with excitement and jumps onto makia's arm.

Baku:"Let's see if your face has the same armor!"

Elsewhere, mirio and tamaki are fighting off men. Once surrounded. They both hear a deep voice coming from the door to the cabin.

Dabi:"That was easier than I thought. Now to finish this."

Mirio:^How did he get past us?^

Tama:^He's after the emperor.^

Mirio jumps our of the crowd and towards dabi. Only to feel a sharp pain in his back from a soldier shooting him in the back with an arrow. Ignoring the pain. Mirio continues to advance.

Dabi takes a calming breath, and in the blink of an eye. He vanishes. Mirio then falls to the floor as his throat was slit in that one moment.

Tama:"Brother!"

As tamaki tries to finish and get to mirio. Soldiers move in and stab tamaki in multiple places at once. Each blade covered in poison.

Tama:^M.....my body feels numb. Yet a thought I was just stabbed.^

Tamaki looks and realizes that he's bleeding.

Tama:"P...oison?"

He also falls to the floor.

As dabi reaches to open the cabin. Mic, Edgeshot, shoji, tomaki, and Sato all fire arrows and kill the soldiers.

Mic:"You aren't getting to him."

Edg:^I don't sence anyone there.^ "Be careful. This guy is no ordinary fighter."

Dabi:"Looks like I can clean house before taking power. Thank you for offering your lives to me."

Meanwhile, bakugou aims at makia's eyes. Only for his spear to be bit and held into place. So the warrior uses the handle to jump up and above him. While up in the air. Bakugou pulls his short bow from behind his back and drops his cloak to blind makia for a moment.

While falling behind his opponent. Bakugou fires a few arrows in search of a weak point. Only for all shots to bounce off.

With another laugh. Bakugou gets pissed. That moment of distraction causes makia to land a backhand to bakugou. Sending him flying into a wall and falling to the ground.

Makia walks towards bakugou and grabs a stone pillar to use as a mase.

Maki:"This is the end. Goodnight, barbarian killer."

As bakugou rolls to face the sky and caughs up blood while gasping. He sees makia over him. Bakugou sees the bow, and one arrow just inches away from his grasp. As the pillar comes down and makia laughs. Bakugou manages to grab them and aim one last shot up makia's nose. Causing the beast to silence for good.

The pillar falls beside bakugou, and so does the beast.

The crowd cheers soon stops when shoji is seen badly injured in the emperor's viewing box.

Shoji:"Bakugou! We need your help! The emperor.......... midoriya has been taken by Dabi!"

Bakugou is furious and stands up.

Baku:"Where are they!?"
Shoji:"At the palace! He's requesting that you come alone to negotiate for him. He also requested that you bring your best weapons and armor!"

Baku:"What happened to the guards?"

Shoji:"They've been defeated."

On the ship laid everyone dead except shoji. Who dabi sent to be a messenger.

Once in the palace. Izuku is forced to stay in his room, but dabi grabs the swaddle from his arms.

Dabi:"Your child will be my ticket to ensure you behave."

As dabi takes it. He realizes something is wrong. So he uncovers. Only to see a brick instead.

Izu:"You think you're the only one to have plans? Guess again, touya todoroki."

With a smile. Dabi begins to chuckle.

Dabi:"Not bad. Looks like I won't be bored after all."

Izu:"Are you really after me, or is someone else your target?"

Dabi:"can't a guy have two targets? I was supposed to be emperor after father and nastuo died. Thar is until you got in my way. Then I found out about your lover, and his connection to the death of my love. If it wasn't for that blonde gladiator  weakening keigo in battle. I would've taken his head and took keigo as my lover."

Izu:"Keigo the barbarian, and you were?"

Dabi:"That's right. Now, I want you to feel the same heartbreak I felt."

Dabi hears someone in the main hall calling out.

Baku:"GET DOWN HERE AND FIGHT ME YOU PETHETIC PIECE OF SHIT!!"

Dabi:"Right on schedule."

Dabi uses rope and the cloth izuku used to trick dabi. Once izuku is restrained. Dabi shuts and locks him inside his room.

Dabi walks down the main steps with his golden armor of. It has the same ingravings as keigo's but with extra flames carved into it. With a claymore in hand. Dabi gets in position for the fight.

Bakugou puts his helmet on and holds his shield with one hand, and a sword attached to his other arm with straps.

Dabi:"So you're using that sword."

Baku:"Where's deku?"

Dabi:"He's out of the way. That's so you don't get distracted."

Bakugou smirks and readies himself.

Elsewhere, kirishima hears everything going on and wants to help, but Mina pulls him close.

Mina:"Think of our child."

She places his hands on her stomach.

Kiri:"I am. Which is why I have to help."

Mina:"If you free izuku. It'll only end badly. Stay here and wait. That's all we can do."

Kirishima punches the wall by the door.

Kiri:"Please let Bakugou win."

Izuku has his arms bound behind his back and a cloth tied around his jaw to silence him. So after a few moments of struggling. Izuku stops when he hears metal against metal. The bells of combat ring throughout the palace.
