Thirty

A week passed as Beatrice swayed in the nursery with Eliza in her arms.
"Can you fall asleep for me Eliza?
Please?" Beatrice asked.
Eliza looked at her with big eyes.
"No?
Ok then" she said before seeing Simon in the doorway.
"Do your magic, please?" she said.
Simon held Eliza.
"Is everything ready?" she asked.
"Yeah.
Brendan is loading the car" Simon said before kissing her.
"I wish we could just stay here," she said.
"I know but we just need to say hi and then we can go back," he said.
"Promise?" she asked.
"I promise," Simon said.
She smiled before walking out of the room.
She walked to the car before looking around.
Brendan wrapped his arms around her.
She turned around.
"This won't last long," Brendan said.
"Simon told you?" she asked.
"I heard," he said before kissing her.
"I'm sorry.
I know this is your family but I find now I'm just anxious" she said.
"It's alright.
I'll be there to pry them off of you" Brendan said.
Simon then walked out with Eliza and the keys.
"All locked up," Simon said.
"Let's get this road trip started then" Brendan said.
Beatrice smiled before looking at the house.
After everything she had been through she was finally living the perfect life.
All it took was one awkward date and a murder to be forever theirs.
