A few weeks passed as Beatrice stood in an empty room in her studio painting what was around her with expensive watercolours after a class.
She was preparing her next example for the group of creative teenagers and young adults to follow.
She had music playing through her headphones as she swayed her hips to the beat knowing she was alone and that the doors were locked.
She looked at the painting before smiling as she watched it turn into the image she had in her head.
It was a nice distraction after the mess of a date a few weeks ago.
Well, two messy dates.
The one with Simon was perfect until Brendan ruined it while questioning her about things she didn't understand.
But the one with Brendan was well non-existent as she canceled it last minute.
All she could think about while getting ready that night was how in a few years she could be the big star in a murder documentary because she trusted a man like him.
He was sweet but she could tell he was truly closed off to the point that all he presented himself was arrogant and rude.
She didn't know what to think as he was so sweet at the cafe.
She sighed before picking up more watercolour on her paintbrush.
She was distracted but maybe that was a good thing.
"Hey," she jumped out of her skin at the sound of someone else voice.
She covered her mouth as she looked at Brendan in the hallway.
"Why would you do that?
How did you even get in here?" she said as her heart pounded in her chest.
"You need a better lock," he said.
"Oh my god," she said.
"You look good painting.
I can see it relaxes you" he said.
"I'm still waiting for you to explain why you broke into my studio," she said softly.

"Right.
I wanted to see you and wanted to apologise for ruining your date with Simon" he said.
She nodded "Thank you.
I'm sorry for cancelling on you, I just was put off by how forward you were when you had just met me hours later I guess" she said.
"Just say I was acting like an ass," he said.
"I was tempted that night.
I'm not very experienced with things like this.
I've only been in three relationships and they never lasted long enough to lead to you know....sex.
I just want to get to know one of both of you and if I want both of you then I'll talk to both of you when that all unfolds" she said.
"You've never...?" he asked as he looked into her eyes
"Nope," she said as she popped the 'p'.
"It never was right," she said.
"I truly didn't expect that.
You're gorgeous bunny.
Men must be chasing you daily" he said.
"There is and their names and Simon and Brendan" she said.
He laughed "You got me there" he said.
"Well um, im done with this painting.
Wanna get a drink?" she said.
"I thought you get off work late on Mondays?" he asked.
"Usually I do but one of my colleagues never showed up for his shift so I have time I've had a stressful day and would love to get a drink right now if you want to as well" she said.
He smirked "Who would I be if I said no," he said.
"A healthy adult not handling bucketfuls of stress," she said as she put her painting on the drying rack for the morning.
"I just need to grab my bag.
You can come with me so you don't get locked in here" she said.
"I've proven I can easily break locks so I wouldn't worry," he said.
"I just got these doors installed.
You can't unlock them without a passcode" she said.
"I could still break it," he said.
"Come on before I leave you to test your breaking-in skills," she said as she held the door open.
She walked downstairs before going to her locker in her office.
Brendan watched her take off her paint-stained apron before getting ready to walk with her as she grabbed her bag and coat.
"I've got that," he said as he took her bag and coat from her before placing her bag on her desk.
"Turn around," he said.
She looked at him before turning around.
He put her coat on before grabbing her bag.
"Why are you being so nice?" she asked as they started to walk to the exit.
"Just trying to make a good impression.
Is it working?" he said.
"A little yeah," she said.

An hour passed as Beatrice sat across from Brendan in a dirty pizza place close to the studio.
She took small sips from her coke as he searched his pockets for something.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
He got out a flask.
"You wanted a drink," he said before pouring vodka into her coke before handing her the flask.
"I've never had vodka.
Never been that much of a drinker" she said.
"Try it," he said.
She smiled before taking the smallest sip before handing the flask back.
"It's fruity," she said.
"It's a raspberry vodka," he said.
"Do you always carry that around?" she asked.
"When I remember it," he said.
"We should probably order something before they kick us out," she said as she took a sip of her spiked Coke.
"We did order something," he said.
"Food.
I meant food" she said.
"You can order something.
I'm paying bunny" he said.
"I know this sounds bad but I don't really like pizza.
I agreed to come here because I thought you wanted to" she said.
"You don't like a lot of things don't you?" he asked.
"No.
I just haven't tried a lot.
But right now I would kill for a proper Italian lasagna" she said.
"I remember that for next time," he said.
"Next time?" she said.
"Yeah.
Did you think I would give up after one date?" he said.
"No, it's just kind of cool that you are already planning that.
My past dates weren't this I guess human.
I was stiff each time but it's different with you and different with Simon.
You both make me feel like I've lived here for years" she said.
"I'm glad," he said.
They continued talking until the pizza place kicked them out.
After that, they talked some more when he insisted on walking her home.
Everything was so natural with him and all it took was one apology.
