Months passed Beatrice like they were minutes.
She constantly wanted to freeze time but knew that she couldn't.
Even if she wanted to when life seemed almost perfect.
Simon and Brendan made a schedule.
She and Simon went on dates each Wednesday and Brendan and Beatrice went on Fridays as she was still figuring out what she wanted even though she knew already, deep down.
It was early as Beatrice drove to the studio after pulling an all-nighter to finish a project.
She felt awful but had a class to teach so she had no way out of this one.
Her small car drove into the car park before stopping.
She looked in her mirror at her makeup she wasn't doing well at hiding what she put it on for.
She then grabbed her things before getting out of the car.
She walked to the door before turning the alarm off so it didn't blare the minute she touched the four before walking in.
She almost dropped her coffee as the alarm went off.
She unset it before looking around.
There weren't any cars in the car park and none of the lights were on.
It made her uneasy.
She walked around before going to her classroom after realising that no one was around.
She opened the door before freezing as she saw Trevor on the floor with his entrails pouring out of him like a river of blood pooling in his body.
She dropped her coffee before screaming.
She didn't know what to do.
She felt sick as she struggled to stand.
What should she do?
Who did she need to call?
She grabbed her phone that was in the pool of coffee as her hands trembled.
She looked at Brendan's number knowing he would be awake.
She put the phone up to her ear as it rang.
All she did was stare blankly at her coworker's dead body as she knew nothing would bring him back.
Not when he was practically ripped in half.
'Hey, bunny.
I'm busy at the moment.
Can I call you later?' Brendan's voice caused her pulse to slow slightly which helped her think.
"Please Brendan stay on the phone.
I don't know what to do" she said as everything poured out.
She began to sob.
'What's wrong?' he said.
"I just need you or Simon here, please.
Studio Brendan please" she said.
'Alright we're coming' Brendan said before hanging up.
She looked at Trevor before running out of the studio.
Beatrice looked around as tears fell down her face.
Minutes later Brendan was running to her not knowing what happened.
"Bunny.
I'm here" Brendan said.
She looked at him before breaking down.
"Trevor's dead.
I went to set up my classroom and he was there" she said as Brendan rushed to wrap his arms around her.
"What happened?" Simon rushed to the both of them.
"I don't know," Brendan said.
"Can you show us, bunny?" Brendan asked.
She shook her head "Please don't make me go back in there" she said.
"Ok.
We won't.
Just tell us where to go" Simon said as he looked at her.
"My classroom," she said.
"Stay here," Brendan said before walking into the studio with Simon.
They both looked around "Let's make this quick.
She's out there in shock" Simon said.
"I'm aware," Brendan said.
They walked to her classroom before noticing her things scattered on the floor.
They went inside before looking at the body.
"No wonder she's scarred," Brendan said.
"I wonder who did this?' Brendan said.
"I have an idea," Simon said.
They looked at each other.
"I'll call the police.
One of us stays here, the other takes Beatrice to one of our places.
Preferably mine.
After that, we take it from there but I have a good feeling she won't want us to leave her" Brendan said.
"I'll go.
I just need keys" Simon said.
Brendan gave Simon his house keys before they both walked out to find Beatrice.
Beatrice was still standing in the same spot as she looked at the ground.
Brendan hugged her again.
"I'll find who did this," Brendan said.
"No.
I want you to stay with me.
Please" she said.
"I need to stay here.
Someone has to call the police bunny" he said.
"Then I'll stay here.
I can stay in your car or in mine.
I don't mind how cramped it is" she said.
"I'll be staying with you," Simon said.
She looked at him "Really?" she asked.
"Yeah.
Come here" he said.
She ran into his arms needing the feeling of close touches.
"Let's get going.
I'll get you something to eat and drink on the way to Brendan's place" Simon said as he smiled at her.
They walked to her car before getting in.
She hugged her knees as she formed a ball-like shape in the passenger seat.
"Me and Brendan are going to protect you for now.
Just until we can be sure this won't happen to you" he said.
She nodded her head "He had three kids.
Kelly, Fred and Minny.
They need him and now they're stuck with a mother that will hurt them.
Trevor is the only reason why she never hit them.
I just don't know what to do" she said.
Simon took her hand.
"Worry about yourself.
The police will most likely put them in another household after this" Simon said.
"It should have been me.
I have nothing but Trevor....he had a family.
He was a good person.
All I have left is you and Brendan" she said.
Simon looked at her.
"Don't you ever say that again.
Me and Brendan would do anything for you so don't you fucking think for one second that you should be dead in there instead of a guy you only met a few months ago" he said.
She looked at him as tears ran down her face.
"I'm sorry," she said.
"Hey, im not mad at you.
I care about you so damn much that seeing you like this makes me wish I could take all that pain and sadness and deal with it instead of you" he said.
She nodded "Can we get muffins before going to his house?" she asked.
He wiped her tears away from his thumb before smiling.
"Yeah," he said.
She nodded before placing her hand on his.
Beatrice felt safe knowing he was there.
Even if he wasn't immortal she knew she would be safe now.
