The next day Beatrice laid in bed as she tried every position possible to get comfortable.
She then gave up as she hit the bed in frustration.
"Can't sleep?" Brendan said as he walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist after his shower.
"No.
It's not helpful either.
I won't be getting any sleep when baby's here either.
Fuck" she said.
"You won't be doing this by yourself.
You'll get sleep" Brendan said as he walked into the walk-in closet to get dressed.
"Where's Simon?" she asked.
"Downstairs," Brendan said.
Beatrice got off the bed before walking downstairs.
She walked through the house before freezing as she felt something snap inside her.
She then felt something rush out of her before looking at the floor to see a puddle of liquid by her feet.
"Simon," she said as her heart stopped.
Simon walked to her before rushing quickly to her as she hissed.
"Love?" he asked.
"My water broke" she said not knowing what else to say.
"Simon there early.
This isn't right.
I'm not ready.
I can't" she said.
"Hey.
Look at me.
We're going to get you to the hospital and you're going to have this baby.
Alright, beautiful?" he said.
"Ok," she said before whimpering.
"Brendan's upstairs.
Go" she said before walking to the car.
She got in before looking at her stomach.
"You're unpredictable.
One of your dads is like that" she said.
Suddenly Brendan and Simon were in the the car with the hospital bag.
"Simon's directions," Brendan said as he began to drive.
She placed her head on the back of Brendan's seat as she fought through the contractions.
"Bunny.
You still breathin'?" Brendan asked.
"Just drive.
Please just get me to the hospital" she said before going through another contraction.
Minutes later she was walking into the hospital.
Brendan went to the front desk.
"My bunny is having a baby," Brendan said.
"Brendan calm down please" she said as she walked around.
The nurse walked to her.
"Come with me and we can get you into a room" the nurse said.
"Wait.
I just need to breath a little.
Everything's moving too fast.
I can't keep up" she said.
"Ok.
Why don't we want near a room just in case?" the nurse said.
"Ok," she said.
The nurse went to grab Beatrice's arm but she pulled away.
"Don't touch me.
Just walk and we'll follow" Beatrice said.
The nurse nodded before walking away.
They all followed as Beatrice grabbed Simon's arm as they walked in circles around the hospital.
"Have you picked any names yet?" the nurse asked.
"They're early," she said.
"Still mothers usually know" the nurse said.
"No," Beatrice said before experiencing one of the most painful contractions.
"Ouch," she said before looking at the nurse.
"Where's the room?" Beatrice asked as she gave up trying to stop the baby.
There was no stopping it now.
They walked to a room and Beatrice changed into a hospital gown before laying in the bed.
She looked around as the nurse plugged her into a monitor to keep track of her contractions and the baby's heartbeat.
"Your contractions are suggesting that you will be pushing soon.
I'll leave you to take this all in but I will stay close" the nurse said before leaving the room.
Beatrice sat up before looking at Simon and Brendan.
"I think they heard you when you said you want this all over," Brendan said.
"What of something wrong?
Why would they be early?" she asked.
"Your delivery date was never looked into.
The doctor gave an estimate" Simon said.
"The nursery isn't finished yet.
We were supposed to do that today.
The crib isn't built yet" she said.
"Hey.
Relax.
You won't be out of here for a while.
One of us can get everything done or I'll make a few calls" Brendan said.
"Ok.
I'm sorry im just now realising that nothing is fucking done" she said before whimpering as she got another contraction.
Simon sat next to her before letting her squeeze his hand.
"You know I was thinking that if it's a girl Julliet or Eliza.
If it's a boy Elijah or Elias" Simon said.
She looked at him "When did you pick those out?" she asked as she played with his bracelets.
Didn't think you would like to hear them while going through all this.
Luckily I still remembered them" Simon said.
She caressed his face.
"I know I've been a bitch through this but thank you for hanging on.
Thank you both for not leaving me to suffer in silence" she said.
"You're body is going through trauma.
It's not your fault" Simon said.
"It's not my first time dealing with a pregnant woman," Brendan said.
"Am I worse or better?" she asked.
"Better.
I'm staying for this one aren't I?" he said.
She looked at him.
"Yeah.
To be honest, if you tried to leave I would drag you back" she said.
"That harsh," he said.
"I need you both.
You can't walk away without me doing something about it" she said.
"And what would that be?" Brendan asked.
"Well, I have three options.
One is talking to you, two is putting a gun to your head and the third is dragging you home with a thick chain and a large fishing hook" she said.
"That's my girl," Brendan said.
She smiled before hissing as she got another bad contraction.
She breathed through it before placing her hand on her stomach.
"Get the nurse," she said before yelping as her body told her to push.
She didn't even have her epidural but she wouldn't have time to get one.
The baby wanted out.
