The day passed her in a way she had never experienced.
It was as if time stopped and she was still in that moment.
She sat on Brendan's couch as she picked at a piece of toast Simon told her to eat.
It was almost ten and Brendan wasn't back.
She was worried but did everything she could to not bother him.
She didn't want to be involved.
Simon sat next to her after talking with Brendan.
He was on his way back.
"Brendan's going to pick up Chinese on the way back.
He's making sure to get your favourite so you eat something" Simon said.
She put down her toast before cuddling into his side.
"I'm not hungry.
I've been nauseous ever since you tried to get me to finish that muffin" she said softly.
"I'm not watching you refuse to take care of yourself," he said as he wrapped his arm around her.
"I just don't want to be sick," she said.
"I know," he said.
She looked at him.
"How long will Brendan be?" she asked.
"Thirty minutes, why?" Simon asked.
"I'm going to take a bath or a shower.
Just something to help me relax" she said as she stood up.
"Me too," he said.
She froze "What?" she said.
"Im joking.
Go on.
I need to talk to Brendan about this morning anyway" he said.
She nodded "Ok" she said softly before walking away.
Beatrice walked to the bathroom before turning on the shower.
She took off her clothes before getting in.
She hummed at the feeling of the water washing away the heaviness of this morning.
She let the water run dish her as she put her head under the shower head.
The pain was overwhelming as she allowed herself to think about it.
She wondered how he felt.
Was he scared?
Did it hurt?
Of course, it hurt but what if the killer cut him in half after he died?
Tears ran down her face as the water from the shower washed them away.
Did Tracy know?
What if she did it?
"Fuck" she numbered before collapsing.
She covered her face with her hands wanting it to all go away.
"I'm sorry, im so sorry.
Trevor im so fucking sorry.
It should have been not you.
Never you" she said before letting out a pain-filled scream.
She let every emotion out as the adrenaline tried to kill her.
She was feeling everything at once while trying to feel nothing at all.
She could hear Brendan and Simon behind the door as she broke down.
The door opened as she sat there vulnerable.
She didn't care though.
She knew one of them would see her naked eventually if things went the right way.
"Beatrice," Simon said.
She looked at the closed shower curtain before pitting her trembling hand out.
"Towel," she said.
Brendan gave her a towel before watching her hand go back into the shower.
"I'm going to turn off the water," Simon said.
She watched his hand turn off the water as she wrapped herself up before getting out.
She looked at both of them.
"Oh, bunny," Brendan said.
"I'm fine," she said as she sat on the counter.
Simon grabbed another towel before using it to dry her hair so she didn't get cold.
"I shouldn't have let you be by yourself," he said.
She nodded "You can't follow me everywhere" she said softly.
"We both know that.
We rather not hear you screaming at the top of your lungs" Brendan said.
"I'm sorry.
I didn't think you would care" she said.
"You don't think we would care.
Are you stupid?
After this morning I wanted to buy handcuffs to attach you to me" Brendan said as he became activated.
"Brendan" Simon warned him as she stood between Beatrice's legs.
"My mind wandered and it wouldn't stop.
Nothing will stop and I want it to.
Simon, I want everything to stop" She said.
They both looked at her as Simon played with her hair soothing her.
"You need to eat and then you can do whatever you want" Brendan said.
She looked at him "Why are you mad at me?
I didn't do anything wrong?" she said.
"It's been a rough day.
I'm not mad at you just a little frustrated" he said.
"From what?
Please tell me the truth.
That's all I want" she said.
"The scene had no clues, witnesses or proof.
Whoever killed Trevor left nothing before but the body.
The police said that he would be missed but there was nothing they could do.
I could have killed that police officer" Brendan said.
"Are they going to tell his family?" she asked.
"Yes but not in detail" he said.
"Then I will," she said as she stood up only to feel her legs tremble.
"Not so fast.
One moment you are stable and the next you breaking down.
You can tell them but not hours after you found him bunny" Brendan said.
She walked to the living room still in a towel as her heart pounded in her chest.
She looks around before seeing a bag from her apartment.
She went through it before going to the bedroom to change.
Brendan and Simon stood in the bathroom.
"What are we doing next?" Simon asked.
"If you're alright with it we will both live here with her" Brendan said.
"Yeah.
But that means you keep your temper away from her.
We both know what that pain is like" Simon said.
"Do you think I would get angry with her around?" Brendan asked.
"You already did and if you keep doing it she won't trust you.
She needs both of us.
We both know she has feelings for the both of us also" Simon said.
"We also agree to look into this murder.
If the police won't do something we will" Brendan said.
"Agreed," Simon said.
They walked into the living room to see the bag Brendan packed for her open on the floor.
"Bunny" Brendan called for her before hearing a beer bottle open.
"Fuck sake.
Forgot I had a bloody bar in the kitchen" Brendan said.
They walked into the kitchen to see Beatrice eating.
"How much did you drink?" Brendan asked.
"What?
I thought you would want one.
It's in the fridge" she said as she looked at the Chinese Brendan bought.
Simon sat next to her.
"Come here," he said before hugging her.
She cuddled into him as she realised that Simon was the one she craved the most comfort from while Brendan was her sense of security.
