Days passed as Beatrice stood outside Brendan's house after Simon and Brendan left.
There was a stock issue at the club and she didn't want to keep them away.
She knew she couldn't cling and had to get back to her regular life but it was more difficult than it appeared.
Her apartment was the only thing left from before Trevor died.
The studio had been scheduled to be knocked down in a month because no one wanted to rent a building where a man was gutted.
She didn't blame them either.
Beatrice looked around before walking away from the front door.
She didn't want to stay locked up forever no matter how scared she was.
It only took a few steps and she would be on her way to taking back her life or at least a part of it.
She walked into her usual cafe before waiting as Ste and Doug talked in the back.
It only took a few minutes for Ste to notice her before walking over.
"I haven't seen you in a while.
What can I get you?" Ste said.
She looked at him before smiling.
She wanted something different.
"What are my options?" she asked.
"Well, we have a hazelnut latte and also a ginger tea.
Based on what you order I think you'll like both of those" Ste said.
"I'll get the hazelnut latte.
A scone, chocolate muffin and a jar of strawberry jam, to go please" she said.
"Coming right up," Ste said.
She smiled before looking around.
Nothing had changed, it was all the same and that was comforting to her.
Once everything was ready she walked back to the house.
She sipped her latte as she focused on what was around her before looking at the club.
She stood still before looking at her watch.
They would hopefully still be there.
Beatrice walked inside only to see Joel at the bar cleaning glasses.
"Hey," she said as she sat across from him.
"There in the back," Joel said.
"Oh ok.
Mind if I sit here for a minute?
Haven't really been outside in a while" she said with a smile.
"Sure," he said.
She watched him polish the glasses before picking up one.
"Brendan's got me cleaning the entire club while he sits on his ass back there," Joel said.
She looked at him "But I guess you wouldn't know.
He's a teddy bear towards you" Joel said.
She laughed before walking around until she was behind the bar.
"I might not know much about working at a bar but I can help if you want," she said.
"Really?" he asked.
"Sure," she said as she grabbed a cloth.
She took a glass before dipping the cloth in a cup full of water Joel had.
She began washing the glass.
"Someone as kind as you shouldn't be around him or Walker" Joel said.
"Have you heard of opposites attract?
We're all different but that's why I love the both of them.
You'll understand when you meet someone like that" she said.
"You love them?" he asked.
"Yeah.
Recently I've gone through something I wouldn't wish on anyone and they have stuck by me through it all.
Brendan got frustrated once or twice yes but for good reason and Simon was an angel.
You may not like them but I do and probably will always care about them" she said as she put the glass back on the bar alongside the other polished glasses.
"Try saying that when they change who you are," he said before Brendan and Simon walked into the room.
"Hey," she said.
"What are you doing here?
I thought you would be at home" Simon said as they both looked at her.
"I want to get better so I want to get coffee and then wanted to see you" she said.
"Why are you cleaning?" Brendan asked.
"Because I wanted to.
I like helping when I can" she said.
Brendan walked to her before hugging her.
"If you leave the house let one of us know" Brendan said.
"My phone broke.
I'm sorry I didn't think" she said.
She looked at him "On the way home I'll get you a new one" he said.
"I got something for you though.
For both of you actually" she said before walking over to the takeaway box Ste put everything in.
She gave Simon the scone and Brendan the jam.
"Bunny you angel" Brendan said before kissing her cheek causing her to blush.
"You didn't have to do this," Simon said.
"It's a thank you.
You know for everything" she said.
She then looked at Joel before looking at the muffin she bought for herself.
"Joel," she said before giving him the muffin.
"What's this for?" he asked.
"You're doing a good job and he doesn't thank you for it," she said.
"Well, thanks.
Brendan if you hurt her I swear to god" Joel said.
"Who said anything about that?" Brendan asked.
"How about we head home?
We're done here anyway" Simon said.
"Sure," she said.
She grabbed her coffee before smiling at Joel.
She then walked out.
"Where did you find her?" Joel asked.
"That's none of your business.
Now get back to work smiley" Brendan said before walking out with Simon.
"How did we get you lucky?" Brendan asked.
"No clue to be honest," Simon said.
