Beatrice hadn't been this happy in a while.
Brendan was so kind and funny and she was happy that he could remove his cold and emotionless mask with her.
She didn't fully know him but felt like she had known him for years.
She was now waiting to see or hear from Simon again.
She was curious about the idea Brendan put in her head.
Could she fall for two people and it be ok?
If she fell for both of them would people think that she was nothing but a whore.
That alone made the idea turn sour but there was still a part of her that was curious.
She stood in the flower section of a small gas station as she looked for a few bouquets of flowers for her next class.
She picked up a bouquet of white roses and smiled before smelling them.
She put them in the small group of flowers collected on her arm before continuing her search.
"Decorating?" a familiar voice causing her to look away from a bouquet of wildflowers.
She looked over to see Simon.
"Just picking some things for the studio.
I teach art classes and want to show my class flower anatomy and texture" she said.
"Want help?" he asked as he noticed the dripping stems of the flowers soaking her sleeve.
"I'm ok.
You can stay though if you want" she said.
"I don't mind.
I forgot what I came here for anyway" he said.
She smiled before picking up her last bouquet of flowers.
"I heard Brendan apologised yesterday," Simon said.
"Yeah.
He broke into my art studio to do it though" she said.
"I only heard the blueprints of his plan.
Look the thing is we both want to get to know you for the same reasons" he said.
"I know.
Brendan put that thought in my head that night" she said.
Simon looked at all the different bouquets of flowers before picking one up that smelt the sweetest.
He put it on her pile of flowers before looking into her glossy eyes.
"I think I've got everything I need.
Once I buy these do you want to come with me to my studio?
I want to talk with you more" she said.
"Me too," he said.
"Yay.
Wait here I'll be right back" she said.
She paid for the flowers and bought a sweet rum before walking back to Simon.
"Should we go?
My car is just outside" she said.
"I've got a better idea," he said as they walked outside.
He led her to his Motorcycle.
"Oh um I've never been on a motorcycle before" she said feeling her nerves hit her like a bullet.
He got on the motorcycle before looking at her.
"All you have to do is hold on," he said.
"What about the flowers?" she asked.
"There's a bag at the back," he said.
She put her bags in the little bag at the back of his bike before getting on.
She quickly wrapped her arms around him not wanting to fly off the minute he turned on the engine.
"One thing before we get going," he said.
She looked up at him before feeling him shove his helmet onto her head.
"I've been doing this for a few years so you can wear this" he said before turning around.
She clung to him again but squeezed the life out of him as he started to guide the bike out of the gas station.
She shut her eyes as she used him as something to hook onto.
"You need to see where we are if you want me to take you to your studio," he said.
"I don't think I can," she said.
He laughed to himself.
She slowly looked up before looking around.
"Left here," she said as she tried not to think about how she was sitting on a death machine.
She gave him directions until they were in front of the studio.
Beatrice took the helmet off before getting off the bike only to see a woman fiddling with the door.
"Um, can I help you?" Beatrice asked as the woman tried to open the door.
Simon stood next to Beatrice watching the woman carefully.
The woman turned around.
"Beatrice?
Oh finally.
I've been trying to call you for three hours" the woman said.
"Tracy?
I thought you would be at home.
Trevor isn't here" Beatrice said.
"He is.
I know he's been sneaking out to come here.
Let me guess you stay late waiting for him to fuck you" Tracy said.
"No.
Are you alright?
You're shaking" Beatrice said as she kept her distance.
"He hasn't come home for three days.
I know he's here.
I know there's a weird bedroom in the back" Tracy said.
"It's an office lovely.
Look I haven't seen him.
He hasn't been showing up here either" Beatrice said.
"What am I supposed to tell the kids?
He has a family you slag" Tracy said.
"That's enough.
You call her that again and you'll never see your kids again" Simon said.
"Simon it's ok.
She's not stable" Beatrice said.
"Let me in.
I know he's here" Tracy said before punching the door leaving little drops of blood on the glass.
"Wait here.
I'll call the police" Simon said.
"Ok," Beatrice said.
Simon walked away but still watched the scene like a hawk.
"You took him away from his home.
Give him back" Tracy said.
"I haven't seen Trevor and when I do he's always talking about how much he loves you and the kids.
I have feelings for a guy or two but not him.
Never him" Beatrice said.
Tracy looked at her.
"Go home before the police show up," Beatrice said.
"This isn't over," Tracy said before running off.
"Simon she's gone" Beatrice said.
She unlocked the studio door as Simon followed her with her flowers.
"Why did you let her go?" he asked.
"Tracy isn't mentally stable.
Trevor keeps her home but most of the time she's in hospitals.
She didn't mean what she said" Beatrice said as she set the alarms just in case.
Beatrice walked into her classroom before taking the bag of flowers.
She pulled out the sweet rum she bought before opening the bottle.
"Want some?
After that we both need a drink" she said.
"Have any glasses?" he asked.
"No," she said before drinking some of the rum straight from the bottle.
She passed it to him before getting a few vases and scissors.
She began cutting the plastic wrapped around the flowers as she and Simon shared the rum.
It was peaceful and that was what she needed after seeing Tracy again.
