Months passed as Beatrice sat in a local coffee shop with Cheryl.
Every time they met up it only made Beatrice more happy that she was away from her second old home.
"How's life going for you here?" Cheryl asked.
"Incredible," Beatrice said as she smiled softly at Cheryl.
"You don't seem happy.
You look not like yourself" Cheryl said.
"I'm ok.
I've been feeling sick a lot the past week" Beatrice said.
"Have you told Brendan and Simon?" Cheryl asked.
"No.
They won't function if there's something wrong with me.
They won't leave my side until im ok" she said.
"I thought they both stayed home," Cheryl said.
"Brendan got a job at the pub down the street and Simon stays home.
He's getting into journalism which I didn't expect" she said.
Beatrice then looked at the pastry on a little white plate.
She picked at it before feeling the familiar feeling in her throat.
"I'll be back" she saud here rushing to the bathroom.
She threw up in one of the cubicles before washing her mouth with the cold water from one of the sinks.
Beatrice then took a deep breath before gargling some water.
She spit it out in the sink before walking back to Cheryl.
"You ok?" she asked.
"Yeah," Beatrice said.
"Beatrice.
What's going on?" Cheryl asked.
"Flu most likely.
I have a doctor's appointment in an hour so I'll find out then" Beatrice said.
"Well, I better get going.
I gotta get back home" Cheryl said.
"Ok," Beatrice said before getting her things.
"I'll walk with you to your car," Beatrice said.
They walked out of the coffee shop.
They walked to Cheryl's car before saying their goodbyes.
Beatrice then headed to her doctor's appointment as she wondered if she should call Simon.
She hated doctors and usually one of them would go with her but with this appointment, she ended up not asking one of them and now she knew she just had to be brave.
Minutes passed as she sat across from her doctor after doing a few tests.
"I'm happy to say there's nothing out of the ordinary.
But what is interesting is that with these results you're supposed to be healthy.
How long have you been feeling unwell?" the doctor said.
"A week" Beatrice.
"Ok.
It is possible that it isn't something simple tests can pick up.
I'll take some blood and do a quick analysis after.
If I still can't find anything we will study your results a little more and get back to you" the doctor said.
"Ok," Beatrice said.
The doctor got all the tools before taking Beatrice's blood causing her to feel light-headed from her needle phobia.
She then had some water as the doctor went out of the room.
Minutes passed as the doctor came back in.
Beatrice looked at the doctor as she sat down.
"I had a look at your blood samples and found the reason that you've been feeling unwell," the doctor said.
"What is it?" Beatrice said.
"It seems that you are pregnant.
You are a few days along" Beatrice froze.
"Pregnant?" she asked.
"Yes," the doctor said.
Beatrice took a deep breath before placing her hand on her stomach.
"Now I won't drag this longer than I already have.
I will see you when you next book an appointment" the doctor said.
Beatrice rushed out of the room before going outside.
She gasped before hiding her face in her hands.
Tears collected in her eyes as she looked around.
She didn't even know that she missed a day of birth control.
Beatrice called a taxi before getting home as everything spun around her.
She had a baby inside her and knowing that made her feel slightly more sick.
What was she going to say to Brendan and Simon?
What if they don't want a baby right now?
Was she even ready?
She was shaking as she felt tears rush down her face.
She was clueless as all those times she thought about having a baby suddenly hit her like a bus.
She wanted this so why was she not happy?
