The disciple showed Wei Wuxian every area of Cloud Recesses with great pride, especially their library. Seeing the pride in his clan made Wei Wuxian vow once more that this time the Lan clan would not be destroyed. He would make sure of it. The disciple animatedly spoke of all their studies and training. It was obvious he loved Cloud Recesses. Once they got close to the entrance Wei Wuxian asked the disciple to tell Quingheng-Jun that he would be back after taking care of a few things. The disciple seemed bothered by their guest leaving seeming to think he had done something wrong. Wei Wuxian released a bit of his scent to ease his nerves. "Don't worry I just have to talk to a few people before returning in less than a week." The disciple bowed and watched him climb on his sword leaving cloud recesses for now.

Wei Wuxian knew it would be a long trip to Qishan so the sooner he started the better. He would fly through the night and be there in the morning before things got too busy. The perks of being an immortal stuck in the human world were enormous energy reserves. Plus it would be much safer for him to fly at night with his black robes. With the way things were going no one (the Lans) needed to know he was heading to Qishan to make a deal.

The flight through the night was uneventful. Even the temperature was pleasant since Qishan had so much volcanic activity the air was much warmer than he had expected. As expected he reached the Wen Sect leader's castle around 9 am.  A guard tried to stop him but Wei Wuxian looked at him coldly eyes shifting between silver and red. Before the guard could do anything other than shake Wen Rouhan himself appeared at the stairs. Wei Wuxian could see recognition flash in his eyes before he dismissed the guard and led Wei Wuxian to his office.

Contrary to what Wei Wuxian expected of the man he fought off for five years the office was decorated simply with a table covered in papers and books lining the walls. They both sat down at each side of the table before Wei Wuxian spoke up wanting to get the meeting over with. He didn't want to be rude but still had to prepare for his wedding after all. " Greetings Sect leader Wen this one is Wei Ying courtesy Wuxian I am ...was one of your gods of death Yilling Laozu." Wei Wuxian waited a moment as Wen Rouhan studied him "Ahhh! I remember now you are the kid who wanted to create the path and garden strictly for children. How did that turn out? I remember approving it but the idiots up there thought the reconstruction was me trying to garner power without letting me explain."  Wei Wuxian smiled genuinely. "It worked out wonderfully children can now enter the reincarnation cycle three times faster."

" Listen kid not that it isn't great to see you but why are you here?" Wen Rouhan asked staring Wei Wuxian down trying to use his scent and aura to oppress Wei Wuxian. Calmly Wei Wuxian explained everything that happened letting Wen Rouhan know his power and scent did nothing to him. Wen Rouhan was extremely aggravated, especially with the horrible treatment the underworld workers received. He was also impressed with how far the young man had come. He had always thought the boy had potential when he was able to transform the underworld to his whims without it being his domain. "Ok Wei Wuxian, time went back but what do you want from me?" Wei Wuxian smirked " I have two things to speak to you about; first- I wanted to figure out a way to reclaim the lands that you were forced to take from the Lan Sect. You know I was a god of justice and I found the whole thing terribly unfair. Two..... My sponsor said that if you give up leading the war they have the power to sponsor you and Baoshan back to your rightful places in the celestial plain."

Wen Rouhan's eyes widened as it was impossible with both him and Baoshan down here that anyone had enough power to bring them back. "Who is all down here to cause such a shift?" Wei Wuxian smiled wolfishly before answering " We have two gods of the underworld, two gods of mercy, two war gods, two gods of the arts, and two gods of strategy." Wen Rouhan blinked for a second before he burst out laughing like he hadn't in years "Oh they fucked up. Let me guess they left the most cutthroat ones up there since they are quiet right? It's always the quiet ones." He was almost rolling on the floor as Wei Wuxian looked on with amusement while Wen Rouhan smacked the table as he laughed. This was the man he remembered when he first got to the underworld not the crooked one he fought against all these years.

A few minutes later Wen Rouhan wiped the tears from his eyes before looking back at Wei Wuxian calculatingly. "You know I may be able to help with the lands that you want BUT you would have to pretend to be my son." Wei Wuxian looked at him like he had just grown an extra head. " No, no Wuxian listen to me. You would be my son whom I kept hidden since he is an omega. I wanted to protect you from everyone including your older brothers. As my son, I would need to give you a dowry for your wedding. Right? I could give you those lands as dowry and an extra boost to your status since you are the most prized son of the chief cultivator. The story could be that I had you hidden away with your grandmother. She was training you to be able to protect yourself from any one of my enemies. What do you say?" Blinking slowly Wei Wuxian hesitantly accepted knowing that would be the easiest plan.

He had no idea what Wen Rouhan hoped to gain by helping him so much. Although he had to admit it would be nice to have some backup in the mortal world. " Good, I always wanted a child that wasn't a disappointment. You said your wedding is in a week? Let's go present you to your brothers and start getting all the preparations for your wedding ready. Oh! Don't trust them at all. Those boys are as rotten as their mother. I'll message Baoshan later tonight so she can attend as well." For a second Wei Wuxian was scared looking at Wen Rouhan's eyes glow red and cunningly sharp. He looked like the cat that caught the canary.

Wen Rouhan grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him out of the office and out of the palace to his favorite tailor shop. Wen Rouhan was looking forward to avoiding his paperwork as long as he could. The wedding of a long-gone prodigal son seemed like a perfect excuse not to deal with all the other sect leader's whining. That day was torturous for Wei Wuxian. The tailor took measurements and ideas for his wedding gown, which should have been all. However, Wen Rouhan forced him to get a whole new wardrobe befitting his new role as his son and Madam Lan. He ordered two outfits and jewelry styled in a grand way he had seen the madams presented to society wear one white with gray clouds and black under robes the other was a pretty blue with white and blue under robes both with black and white sash with gray clouds on it. The silks felt oddly nice against his skin but the heavy guans made his head ache just looking at them. Still, that would be a small price to pay to stand by Lan Wangji's side. By the time they finished, Wei Wuxian was exhausted and Qishan was buzzing about the wedding of one of Wen Rouhan's sons.

Wei Wuxian just wanted to find a bed and collapse into it. Wen Rouhan had made sure to let him know that wouldn't happen since they still had to get through dinner. With heavy steps, they made it back in time for dinner where Wen Rouhan presented Wei Wuxian to Wen Xu and Wen Chao as their youngest brother. By Wen Rouhan's plan, Wei Wuxian had allowed a little of his scent through to identify him as an omega to the two alphas. Wen Chao didn't take it very well and stormed off after sneering at him, but Wen Xu seemed to take it in stride. He even patted Wei Wuxian's head on the way out muttering how omegas had to be protected and glad he wasn't like Wen Chao. Wei Wuxian looked at Wen Rouhan shocked but the man just shrugged knowing Wen Xu had already deduced Wei Wuxian was not a contender for the Sect throne. Wen Rouhan led Wei Wuxian to a guest room and made sure to remind Wei Wuxian to set up protections before leaving to decide what to put in Wuxian's dowry.

Three more days passed like that, Wen Rouhan had dragged Wei Wuxian all over Qishan to get everything prepared for the wedding. Wen Xu sparred with him a few times admiring his battle prowess with approval but otherwise ignored him. Wen Chao openly showed his disdain for him. One of the nights he had found Wen Chao collapsed in front of his barrier having tried to break through it for some reason. Wen Rouhan was quick to grab his son away and punish him severely. He didn't see Wen Chao for the rest of his stay only hearing rumors of his beaten state.

Still the closer the day got the more nervous Wei Wuxian felt. He knew Hanguang-Jun was fine since he had a few spirits watching over him to keep him safe even from himself. The night before he left Qishan his grandmother Baoshan showed up at his door. It was an emotional night since they hadn't seen each other in so many centuries. He knew in two days he would be a married man. He would be the son of Wen Rouhan, the grandson of Baoshan Sanren, and the husband of Lan Wangji his beloved in front of the entire world. Even if Lan Wangji never accepted him Wei Wuxian would do his best to get the justice Lan Wangji deserved. He would do everything in his power to make sure Lan Wangji had a happy ending.
