Wei Wuxian woke up earlier than even the Lan's schedule dictated. He got himself bathed and ready for the day before calling his assistant A-Hua. She hovered in front of him briefly studying him to make sure he was unharmed since she last saw him. Then she bowed respectfully presenting him a thick scroll. " Is this everything A-Hua?" It was. He knew it was. A-Hua had always gone above and beyond for him almost treating him like her child. She smiled widely with her pretty red lips accenting her sharp fangs. "Yes, my prince. This scroll even includes witness reports written by the witnesses themselves. They were more than happy to finally be receiving justice. Do you require anything else?" Wei Wuxian patted her head gently like he would a child with a small smile.
Her eyes sparkled with joy at the affectionate touch. The spirits of the dead were never truly given affection only respect for they used to be. They enjoyed that their master was so affectionate with them. It provided them the stability they needed to maintain their sense of self. " No, no worries. I know you are extremely busy....but if you find time..... can you keep an eye on my husband for me to keep him safe?" She giggled melodiously poking Wei Wuxian's nose to tease him. " Seems our little prince cares a lot about his husband. My my, what am I to do he grew up so fast. One second you are pinning away then I blink and you are married *Dramatic sigh* Of course, you can count on me. I will keep an eye out for him." She vanished into thin air while a pouting Wei Wuxian grabbed the papers of his dowery along with the report. " No respect around here, geez. Who is the master and who is the assistant?" He never noticed the slightly open door that Lan Wangji had been standing behind.
Lan Wangji had woken up at his normal time slightly before the Lan sect bell went off. He sat up to get ready but sat still as he heard a woman's voice. Initially, he was confused that someone was in his house before he remembered he was married now. That someone else now lives with him for better or for worse. He didn't care what his new husband did. Truly he had been ready to die that day the young man stopped him. That bitter feeling in his chest was just because his new (not even a day old) husband was disrespecting his house. That was right, Wei Wuxian would not disrespect his house with some random woman. If he wanted to meet some lover he could do it elsewhere. Brimming with determination he made his way to Wei Wuxian's room.
Opening the door gently to surprise his husband in the act, he was the one left in shock. The woman was gorgeous with an otherworldly beauty wearing fitted wedding robes. The shocking part though was that she was floating a respectful distance from his husband. His brain could not stress the word floating enough. He ignored the relief he felt that his husband was not already having some affair. For his part, Wei Wuxian was calmly looking through a scroll while patting her head like she was a little kid. He swore that if she were a cat the woman would be purring. It reminded him of the rabbits he had played with as a child.
" No, no worries I know you are extremely busy.... but if you find time..... can you keep an eye on my husband for me to keep him safe?" The woman giggled sounding like bells while she poked Wei Wuxian's nose with her red nail-polished finger. " Seems our little prince cares a lot about his husband. My my, what am I to do he grew up so fast. One second you are pinning away then I blink and you are married." She let out an obviously fake sigh looking completely agrived with a hand over her heart. Wei Wuxian started blushing before pouting at her making her giggle a bit more. "Of course, you can count on me." Then she vanished like she had never existed in the first place. Lan Wangji carefully made his way to the common room table still in his sleep robes to make himself calming tea and process what he had just seen. Was that a ghost with his new husband?
A few minutes later Wei Wuxian came out of his room planning everything he had to accomplish that day. He proceeded to drop all the papers in his hands on the floor allowing his brain to flat line. He was internally freaking out seeing Lan Wangji in his semi-open sleep robes, hair loose looking better than any incubus he had ever seen. A lot more successful in catching his attention too. His face turned scarlet and his scent leaked for a split second in his panic. The scent made Lan Wangji feel loved, desired, and intrigued. The feelings startled him. He had to admit he enjoyed the view of Wei Wuxian losing his carefully maintained control without trying. He had to admit to himself at least that his husband looked lovely in red. It was a rush to feel so much power over the other's reaction.
