Chapter 14

               The husbands spent the entire week in the Gentian house mating with each other. Lan Wangji took the opportunities between love-making sessions to feed and give water to an exhausted Wei Wuxian. He needed to show his omega that he could be vulnerable around his alpha. That he would take care of and provide for all of Wei Wuxian's needs. To Lan Wangji's pleasure, his husband's heat could keep up with his rut. 

               Normally an alpha would have to find a way to let their omega rest in between sessions. In some extreme situations, alphas would continue fucking even if their mate had passed out. It was not a very omega-friendly society. Most times a mated omega was the property of the alpha. This was the reason he was so adamant that Wei Wuxian mark Lan Wangji to place them on equal footing. He was extremely lucky Wei Wuxian seemed to have boundless energy. Most of the time it was Lan Wangji urging Wei Wuxian to rest for a bit while his knot went down. Wei Wuxian wanted to continue through the oversensitivity even if it hurt him. Sadly he was acting like he would never have the chance to be intimate with his husband again. Lan Wangji was getting mixed signals.

                 Now that Wei Wuxian knew that Lan Wangji didn't want to get a divorce they made some plans for the future. The first one was combining their rooms in the Jingshi. They would need a bigger bed since they planned on sleeping together from then on. Lan Wangji was even secretly hoping for children to ensure Wei Wuxian stayed by his side. It was a horrible thought, but he couldn't help wishing for it deep down. With the omega's heat was over Lan Wangji convinced Wei Wuxian to stay with him for one more uninterrupted day. He showed his mate that even without being in heat Lan Wangji desired him. His husband seemed shocked at the attention while still being receptive to Lan Wangji's ministrations. 

                  Wei Wuxian came out of his heat feeling cared for and sated like never before. He did have to secure his robes more than normal. His husband had a penchant for marking him everywhere. The shameless man seemed smug that there were marks on Wei Wuxian's neck that his clothes couldn't hide. It was like he wanted everyone to know what he had done with Wei Wuxin in the Gentian house. 

                  That was another thought now that his mind was not hazy with heat. He was thankful he had sent Madam Lan's ghost away before anything happened. He would have never been able to look Lan Wangji in the eyes again if they had sex in front of his mother. Now that he thought about it Wei Wuxian would have gone into complete seclusion. Never returning to the underworld seemed a small price to pay to avoid the slim chance of running into late Madam Lan again. 

                    Lan Wangji was walking around extremely smug even with his expressionless face at Wei Wuxian's side. People whispered loudly about the love bites on Wei Wuxian's neck. So much for the 'no gossip' rule in Cloud Recesses; a bunch of hypocrites, the lot of them. All Wei Wuxian could do was glare at his husband without heat. He was glad he could make his husband happy even if the small smile was at his expense. If he could keep that smile with just a bit of embarrassment as the cost he would gladly keep paying.  

                    Wei Wuxian ignored everyone enough to get back to work. He was barking orders making everyone move to keep their Madam happy. If he gave the gossipers extra work.... well, only he would know. He also had to work hard to keep Lan Wangji focused on the impending attack. It was like his husband was in a honeymoon phase. He seemed determined to drag Wei Wuxian away to their bedroom at random times of the day every day. Not that Wei Wuxian would have minded normally. He had said he would take whatever scraps Lan Wangji gave him. If a bed warmer is what Lan Wangji wanted him to be then that is what he would do.

                   Two weeks passed with this new routine. The Lan sect was very happy their sect leader and Madam were finally fully mated. Now no one would be able to claim that their sect leader was still pinning for his brother's mate. The sect leader himself seemed more relaxed and approachable. This made dealing with Madam's embarrassed work punishments easier to deal with. Working extra hard to protect their sect was a small price to pay to see their leaders happy.
