"Lun?" I heard my mother's voice call from the front room. "Lun hurry we're leaving soon"

"I'm coming down soon Mother" I called back adjusting my tie in the mirror. I smiled at myself in the mirror as I fixed my dark brown hair.

"Well hurry you silly boy!" She called laughing

"Alright alright Mother" I said coming out of my room and down the stairs

"Finally Lun" She said smiling at me, a gleam in her eyes "Do you have your bags?"

"Yes Mother" I said as I leaned down to kiss her cheek

"Haven't forgotten anything have you?"

"No mother" I said laughing at her "Now didn't you say that we were in a hurry?"

"Oh yes I did, didn't I?" She pondered for a bit before shrugging "Oh well let's go then"

You wouldn't think that this woman was one of the most powerful people in the country, Baroness Neku, but she was. And I was her only son Lun Neku. My mother just bought a new flying ship to get me to the Capital for I have been accepted into the Grane University, which was a high honor for someone of my mear age of 19. I smiled to myself as I watched as the maids and footmen carry our stuff into the ship

"You don't have to come with me, Mother" I said turning to her as she faned herself. She turned to me and snapped the fan shut

"Yes I do, I can't let my only son go by himself, now can I? What kind of mother would I be?" She said tapping my chest with the fan

"I was joking mother, of course I want you to come with me" I said as she placed her hand on my arm.

"Now let us be off" I said walking forward to the ship with her by my side.

"Such a gentleman" She said mockingly

"My mother taught me to be" I replied grinning at her as she smiled back

"Mind the cheek boy" She giggled as we walk onto the ship

"Why Mother I am offended that you think I am cheeky" I said with a gasp. It must of taken all her ladyness not to burst out laughing at me. I grinned at her as the ship went off. We sat on the deck watching the crew run around and make arrangements. We talked for a while as we drank some tea with my mother's close friends, Lady Mesli and Duke Sinha. The three of them had been best friends since their schooldays and it was nearly impossible to see them apart. We took tea on the deck but when it started getting cold we took to the dining room for supper. Mother had brought her favourite chef and soon we were being served only the best dishes. Today we were having a seafood feast.

"Oh I do love shrimps" Duke Sinha sighed as he put some on his plate

"That is why I asked them to make it, Si" My mother said laughing as she sipped some octopus stew

"You had it made just for me? Oh Nees you are too kind" He said smiling at her fondly

"Oh you suck up" Lady Mesli said as she chewed some crab sushi "You just want her to get her chef to make you dessert"

"You dare say I have some interior motive!? Nee, don't listen to her" Sinha implored "Just because I would also like eclairs does not mean I am trying to get you to make them for me"

"What am I supposed to do with the two of you" Mother said giggling "Lun? Any suggestions?"

"I suppose you could just not get them anything nice anymore" I said smirking "Starve them off you, per say"

"Lun you are too cruel" Mesli exclaimed "Don't listen to your son, Nee"

"Yes Nee, don't listen to him, he doesn't know what he is talking about!" Sinha echoed
