Justin's POV
I was confused and disoriented after finding myself inside of what felt like a hospital room. JUDGING by the noises all around me, I seemed to be surrounded by strangers - or were they Doctors - as well as a few medical equipment. My head was spinning and my whole body was aching. As I slowly opened my eyes, Adam's face was the first thing I saw. He looked as though he had been crying for hours. His eyes were bloodshot-red, but I was happy to see a smile slowly start to flicker on his face. He leaned over to kiss me while playing with my hair at the same time.
"I'm so happy you're awake, Buttercup," he lovingly whispered in my ear, "you were out for a while. I was so scared, honey. Don't you worry, though. The Doctors said you passed out due to extreme exhaustion along with your fever, but they also said you should be okay. We just gotta get you home, have you in bed until you're all better." Adam paused for a moment, stroking my hair and kissing me. Then, he carried on talking. "How are you feeling, by the way? You okay?"
"I feel so tired," I answered, weakly, "I don't think I'll even have the strength to get off this hospital bed." Adam sighed, giving my shoulder a gentle pat.
"I know, Justie. I know. Well, You're gonna be in my arms, anyway, so you just relax, okay? Now, let's go home. DJ and Tristan are waiting in the car for us." I nodded and Adam picked me up, carrying me out of the hospital and into the car.
Adam's POV
Justin fell asleep in my arms as soon as we got to the car, his head resting on my chest. DJ started driving immediately, while Tristan looked over at me.
"How's his fever?" he whispered, not wanting to wake Justin up.
"The Doctors were able to bring it down to a somewhat stable level," I whispered back, "it's not as high as it was earlier, which is good. He's still very weak, though." Tristan let out a worried sigh, looking at Justin.
"Let's get him straight to bed as soon as we get back at you guys' house," he said, "poor thing!"
The boys and I spent about a week, taking care of Justin. He slept a lot, hardly eating. Barely moving. He didn't even have the strength to talk. Our fans had started sending us DMs on Instagram, expressing how worried they were because we hadn't uploaded anything on our YouTube channel since that Dhar Mann skit we reacted to. I didn't know how to respond to them. They had no idea Justin had been sick. And I couldn't tell them this, because I knew Justin wouldn't want them to know. Instead, I posted a message on our Community Tab, reassuring our fans that a new video would be out soon, which helped to calm them down a bit.
After a week of taking care of Justin, he was finally well again. He must have seen our fans' Instagram DMs, as he insisted we did a video. Or better yet, a LiveStream. I was very much looking forward to doing it since Justin was unable to join me when I did one. However, we didn't get around to doing it because of an incident that happened on the day we were supposed to Stream. We both knew it would happen eventually, but it still had an impact on us, especially on Justin.
Justin's POV
It was going to be a great day. Adam and I were getting ready to do a LiveStream on our YouTube Channel for our fans when our phones pinged as a notification came through.
"Probably more Instagram DMs from our fans," Adam remarked with a smile on his face.
"I'll have a look now before we start with the Stream," I told him. He laughed, nodding his head. I went ahead and opened the notification on my phone. It was from Instagram, but it wasn't a DM from a fan. Rather, it was an instagram post, created by one of our fans captioned: "Adam And Justin Being The Most Adorable Couple ever", and it was a photo of me and Adam holding hands at the restaurant we went to after his confession to me. I smiled to myself.
I left a heart on the post before going into the comment section, which I wish I never did. At first, all the comments were very positive. Everyone was so supportive, saying things like: "Adstin forever!" and, "Adam and Justin should get married already!" It went on and on, until some hate comments began to appear.
Comment Section
@lankyboxlover: Wait, Adam and Justin are dating? Eww! That's so gross! I can't believe I was even a fan!
@ILoveLankyBox: I'm unsubscribing from their channel! Ugh!!! Disgusting pieces of shit!!!
@smilerdude: IT's ADAM AND EVE! NOT ADAM AND STEVE! Besides, why's Adam dating Justin, anyways? Justin is so lame!
@yourlocalhero: Adam! Dump Justin! You deserve someone way better than him...
Back To Justin's POV
I didn't realize I'd thrown my phone across our recording studio, succumbing to a panic attack. I hadn't had one in a while. Every part of my body felt numb and I couldn't breathe. I felt strong arms pulling me in for a hug. It was Adam.
Adam's POV
I rushed over to Justin as he suddenly threw his phone across the room, having one of his panic attacks. One minute, he had a beautiful smile on his face while scrolling through the comments on one of our fans' Instagram post. Now, he was down on his knees, shaking. Crying. He shook in my arms as I pulled him in for a hug.
"Justin!" I said, stroking his back: "Buttercup! What's the matter? Are you okay?" He didn't say a word. He just handed me his phone, showing me the hate comments he read. I felt my blood start to boil inside me. Yes. People are entitled to their own opinion, but I didn't like how these haters were talking about my boyfriend as if they knew him. I felt like responding back to them, but I thought better of it. Justin has always told me to never fight hate with hate. It would only make things worse.
So, that was why we didn't get around to doing our LiveStream. And ever since Justin saw those Instagram hate comments, his depression was triggered all over again, causing him to become withrawn and distant. He hardly ever left his room. And, he seemed to grow colder and colder toward me as each and every day kept passing by. I didn't take it personally. He was depressed. It wasn't his fault.
"We're in this together, Justin," I told him, kissing him passionately on the lips, "you got through this depression before, and you're gonna get through it again. I love you, Buttercup! So much!" I kissed him again as he began to fall asleep in my arms. I kept telling myself that he would get through this. That I would soon have my Justin back. Little did I know that things would quickly take a dark turn.
(Yo, lovely readers! If you made it this far into the chapter, thank you so much for joining me. I know this one was probably really painful and not easy to read, but I hope y'all can join me for the next one. I can't promise that the next chapter will be a much lighter and happier one. You'd probably be able to tell by the way Adam ended his POV, but what I can promise you is that the chapter after the next one will be less heavy and dark. Thank you for reading! Love y'all!)
