A Special Appearance

Chapter 36

"Ok so first off, I want to get the snacks ready, then the drinks and finally we can change and put on some makeup for tonight." Lynn grabs her plate and puts it on her countertop. "Sounds good, so what kinds of snacks did you get us." Jenna sets her plate on top of Lynn's and leans over the bar. "I got nacho's, a salted nut mix, mini pretzels and some crackers on which we can put some toppings" Lynn grabs everything and spreads it out on the counter. "Okay, okay. Sounds good." Jenna smiles as she grabs the bag of nacho's and opens it. "Hey that's for tonight, we just ate." Lynn quickly snatches the bag back from Jenna. Jenna pouts a little but she doesn't do anything against Lynn. Lynn grabs a bowl and puts the nacho's in. Then she covers it with cheese and puts it off to the side so that she can heat it up later, hopefully it works in the oven instead of the microwave. Lynn does the same with the salted nuts and the mini pretzels. "Okay so next we need to prepare the drinks." Lynn says. "So just grabbing them out of the grocery bag and putting them in the fridge?" Jenna asks. Lynn thinks for a second but then nods. "Yeah there really isn't much to prepare in this case." She chuckles. So she does that, she takes Jenna's champagne and a bottle of soda out of the bag they took for groceries a few days ago. "So that means we can get changed!" Jenna smiles as she quickly gets up. "You really are excited for that huh?" Lynn laughs as she sees Jenna almost skip towards Lynn's closet.

"What I just can't wait for us to wear our dresses and I am definitely going to do your makeup again. Plus I think I can do something with that messy head of hair you have." Jenna grabs the black glitter dress she bought and the matching heels. She then hands Lynn, who is just smiling while looking at Jenna, her white dress with her heels. "Come on, I can't wait anymore. I have been waiting for this almost all week so I want you to look perfect." Jenna says as Lynn grabs her clothes. Lynn forgot how much shorter this dress was then what she would wear. "Fine, fine. Just give me my time okay." Lynn walks towards the bathroom to change while Jenna already has her top off. Lynn quickly locks herself in the bathroom and holds the dress in front of her. "Okay Lynn, this is it. I really never would wear this myself but it is for Jenna, she made me kind of like this so I think it's fair." Lynn softly says to herself. As Lynn starts stripping off her regular clothes she can hear multiple bangs, the fireworks are always loud in Lynn's city but she honestly has started to love them. Loud, surprising and pretty. "That's actually a pretty accurate description of Jenna too." Lynn laughs to herself. She finally stands in her underwear and take the dress of the clothes hanger. She slowly slides it on not wanting to accidentally rip it apart or stretch it out. When Lynn finally has it on she remembers when she first wore it, the way she looked at herself and saw a completely different person, but she like it, quite a lot actually.

"Now come on, are you ready yet." Jenna knocks on the bathroom door. Lynn quickly straightens out the dress and unlocks the door. "Yep, ready." Lynn says. As Jenna enters Lynn is reminded by how different Jenna looks in a dress like this, apart from going out to dinner, Lynn has gotten used to laid-back Jenna. "There she is, you look amazing!" Jenna says as she enters. "Now come her with that pretty face." Lynn wants to react but just decides to let Jenna have her fun. So she leans down a little until she is on the same height as Jenna. Jenna grabs her makeup bag and starts working on Lynn's face. Lynn waits a while until Jenna says "aaand there you go. Perfection!" Lynn turns to her side to look in the mirror and she sees that Jenna did the same thing from when they went out to dinner. Just some basic makeup, nothing outlandish. "I didn't want to put too much work into your makeup because I already like you." Jenna softly pats the top of Lynn's head with a smile. Lynn stands back up and rolls her eyes. "No, no. come back here. I still have to do your hair." "What's wrong with my hair?" Lynn asks as she glides her hand through her messy hair. "Nothing, it's just everywhere. So I want to try something, if you're okay with it of course." Jenna puts on big eyes and a begging face. "Fineee, just this ones okay!" Lynn gives in and leans back down. Jenna squeels quickly and then grabs her brush. Lynn already starts to regret her decision.

"Okay finally, don't do anything!" Jenna yells. It took Jenna almost half an hour but she finally straightened out Lynn's hair. Lynn looks into the mirror and sees her still messy hair but now it falls down her shoulders, she has bangs on her forehead and her hair flows over her ears. "You just gave me your haircut!" Lynn laughs as she looks at it. "Yeah I really think that this looks nice on you. I don't want to change you into me, but like this you just seem more confident and less shy." Jenna giggles. Lynn puts on a fake offended look and they both laugh. "No but you're right, it does look pretty good, I think I will stick with my own hair most of the time but maybe when I go to parties and stuff I can do this." Lynn smiles. "See! Now I still have to fix myself up so how about you put the snacks and drinks out on the table." Jenna says as she starts applying foundation on herself. Lynn smiles and gives herself one last quick look in the mirror. Then she leaves to the living room. She sees the bright flashes of fireworks outside, even though they're blocks away the flash travels through Lynn's living room. The streets are busy with people looking to celebrate new years in a bar. Lynn puts the bowl of nacho's with cheese in the oven and the other bowls on the table, she first pours two glasses of soda deciding to leave the alcohol for later. Once everything is set up it's almost thirty to eleven. Lynn feels butterflies in her stomach, this was it, this year is over. And now another one starts, one probally filled with a lot of Jenna. Lynn sits down on the couch and turns on the tv, she switches to cable and puts on a new years countdown. Jenna then walks in, the clicking of her heels draw Lynn to the door, Jenna looks even more beautiful. Her makeup is pristine and her hair looks amazing. "Wow Jenna, you look great!" Lynn chuckles a little. "Well thank you, now. It think we have to start celebrating!" Jenna flops down next to Lynn and grabs a handful of snacks. "Yeah I think so too." Lynn grins widely. The feeling in her heart that has been there all week is stronger than ever, the warm and comforting feeling that is still a mystery to Lynn. But she doesn't care, right now it's her, Jenna and new years!
