"So I think I'll get started on dinner because it takes about an hour to prepare. And if we eat earlier we still have some appetite for snack tonight." Lynn says as she walks into the kitchen. Jenna walks in after her and sits down on one of the stools. "Sure whatever you think works best." She shrugs "You wanna help me or are you just going to watch?" Lynn turns around to gather the ingredients from the counter. "Oh I'll just watch. Especially with a view like this." Lynn can hear her smirk from behind her. She turns around to lock eyes with Jenna. "You really are a pervert." Lynn smiles a little. She goes to the cabinet she has and searches through some books. "Here we go, the Hutton family cookbook." Lynn takes out a journal looking book. "It has been passed down a few generations and everyone has written a recipe in it." "Sounds fun, my family doesn't have anything fun like that. Have you already written down a recipe?" Jenna asks. "Not yet, I still have to either think of something or find something delicious." "And you'll need to find someone to have kids with so you can pass it down to them." "I'm sure it won't be that hard." Lynn rolls her eyes. "Me neither. Mind if I read some?" Jenna smiles. "Well they are kind of Hutton family exclusive. But I guess it wouldn't hurt. Just let me peak at the recipe for the lasagna every now and then and I'll be okay." Lynn hands Jenna the book as she grabs a few tomatoes. "Okay so first the sauce."

Lynn starts cutting the vegetables and mixing some milk with tomato sauce. The process to get it as delicious as possible (said so in the journal) takes a while of stirring. While Lynn stirs Jenna reads through the recipes. "What is shawarma bread?" Jenna asks as she points to a page. Lynn looks over to the piece. "Oh my dad came with that one." Lynn smiles as she grabs the journal from Jenna while continuing to stir. She is met by a text written in her dads handwriting, just seeing it is enough to bring back her old memories. Happy ones that make Lynn smile. But then Lynn remembers the worst day of her life, her dads funeral. She didn't really realize what death and all that was but seeing her family, and especially her mom, crying and mourning. That felt so terrible. "What was he like?" Jenna asks "He was great. He would do anything for me." Lynn smiles softly "Yeah, like what?" "He once took me to the zoo and we would bounce from animal back to animal so I could decide my favorite. At the end of the day my dad had to carry me back to the car because my feet hurt too much." Lynn chuckles a little. "Sounds like a hell of a dad. So what's the recipe?" Jenna smiles. Lynn stops stirring and puts the pot of sauce on the stove. "Well he would take a large piece of Turkish bread, cut it in half. Cook some shawarma and put it on, then cheese and then some lettuce. He learned that when he was younger when he was an exchange student in Turkey." "Okay you have to promise me to make some for me one time!" Jenna laughs. Lynn loves Jenna right now. She can tell she asked about her dad to make Lynn feel better and ask for the dish just so Lynn can talk about how amazing her dad was. "Okay so next I have to make the mix for in the lasagna." "Sure, could you maybe tell me some more about your dad if you wouldn't mind?" Jenna says "Not at all." Lynn laughs

So Lynn continues cooking while telling stories about her dad, some make Jenna laugh, other cause Jenna to laugh at young Lynn and her stupid childish actions. "So now the lasagna needs to go into the oven and then it needs to rest." Lynn grabs the old rectangular bowl and puts it in the oven. Lynn has to close the door a few times to make it properly closed. "Why don't you get another one?" Jenna asks. "Well first of all not everyone makes loads of money of movies in their early twenties. And secondly you should thank this microwave-oven thing. Because this thing didn't work I went out and that's where I met you." Lynn puts in the specific time her dad mentioned in the recipe and leans on the countertop. "Well in that case you're right. Thank you crappy microwave." Jenna bows a little which makes Lynn chuckle. "So are you excited about when you come to me? I have already begun thinking about next week and what we're going to do." Jenna says. "Yes I am very excited of course, fancy house near LA with my best friend: Jenna Ortega. The most unpredictable woman on this planet. Literally nothing could go wrong." Lynn smiles. Jenna rolls her eyes in a mocking way like Lynn usually does. "So how about we eat, get dressed and then just watch some tv with some snacks and drinks." Lynn looks back at the oven. "Sounds like a plan. Let's do it." Jenna shrugs.

After a while the Oven beeps and Lynn takes the lasagna out and puts it down on the counter. She grabs her phone and sets a timer. "Can you put on the next Scream movie so we can watch it while we eat?" Lynn points at the couch. Jenna grunts because she still hates watching herself but she does it anyway. After about six minutes, Lynn grabs two plates and puts them on the table, then she grabs the bowl and puts it between the plates. "Okay, let's get eating." Lynn says. She cuts the lasagna with a cheap spatula and gives both of them a piece. "It looks great! And this smell, jeez this is some good stuff." Jenna laughs as she presses play on the movie. They continue watching the movie while they eat. Once Jenna takes her first bite she almost moans with a mix Lynn recognizes as happiness about something that is delicious, so Lynn knows she did well. Jenna greedily keeps eating while Lynn chuckles. Once Jenna is done she looks at Lynn. "Could I have some more." Jenna asks in a sweet and soft voice. "Sure!" Lynn laughs. She scoops up another piece for Jenna and they continue to eat. As the sky gets darker and the streets busier, Lynn knows what time it is. "New Years eve. Shall we get ready?" Lynn smiles as they both finish their plates and empty out the bowl. "We shall." Jenna says in a fancy tone.
