They have to wait a few minutes for their Uber to arrive but when it does, they both greet their driver and get in the backseat. They don't talk much for most of the ride. Jenna is doing something on her phone and Lynn is once again thinking about how in the world she ended up sleeping in the same bed as Jenna Ortega. While Lynn is thinking she doesn't even notice that she is dumbly staring at Jenna, Jenna soon notices and puts her phone down. "Enjoying the sight Lynn?" Jenna asks with a teasing tone. Lynn gets pulled back to reality before getting bright red. "What do you mean?" Lynn asks flustered as she rubs the back of her neck. "I caught you stating at me that's what!" Jenna says with a grin. "No I wasn't! I was just looking were you got that jacket from." Lynn tells her very unconvincingly. "Yeah im sure you weren't just checking me out!" Jenna teases Lynn again. Lynn is now bright red, and she can feel herself getting warmer. "No what! Of course I wasn't don't be ridiculous!" Lynn says defensive. Jenna looks at her for a second before she starts loudly laughing. "Jeez Lynn I was only joking calm down." Jenna says while still laughing. Lynn sighs in relief and start laughing herself, it doesn't take long for Lynn to stop blushing. They sit in silence for a little longer until the car stops at the entrance of a trail into the forest. Lynn thanks the driver and they both step out. Jenna stretches real quick and Lynn can't help but look at her for a second. "Ok! Let's get this hike started." Jenna says with a small clap. Lynn nods and follows Jenna as they walk into the calm forest. The forest is pretty empty and colorless around this time of the year, but Lynn and Jenna still enjoy the sight of the nature, they hear birds chirping in the trees as they pass underneath them. They walk over the muddy path as they breath in the cold air, they feel the slight winter breeze hit them as they walk further into the dense forest. They're both enjoying the surroundings until their eyes lock onto each other. "So how are you liking the hike?" Lynn says to break up the tension in between them, Jenna smiles and quickly glances around to the nature before turning back to Lynn. "It's great! This is very refreshing and relaxing, im glad you suggested this place because it looks so pretty." Jenna says as they walk down a small hill next to an little pond. Jenna brushes her hands against the pashing bushes as they continue down the path. Jenna closes her eyes for a second and lets the wind blow through her hair, she stops walking and Lynn stops a few steps in front of her. And then Lynn feels something, the same feeling she got when she looked at Jenna this morning. Lynn looks at how Jenna's head is tilted slightly upward, and the edges of her lips show a little smile. Before Lynn gets caught staring again she also closes her eyes and face forward into the wind, she can see why Jenna enjoys this. "This is something else." Jenna speaks up from behind Lynn "You don't get a lot of moments like this in the city." She finishes. Lynn opens her eyes and faces Jenna who has also opened her eyes. "yeah it is, I should come here more often it's so peaceful out here." Lynn responds as Jenna starts walking again. They walk for a few more minutes until they hit a big clearing, it's a big grass field that is filled with fallen trees and large overgrown plants. Jenna runs to one of the trees and climbs on top of it as if she was a child. Lynn giggles as she sees Jenna try to balance on the log while trying to walk across. Lynn just decides to have some fun for a minute and also jumps onto the fallen log after dropping her backpack next to it. They both try to balance while holding each other's shoulders. Lynn smirks before she suddenly pushes Jenna forwards to the ground. She falls onto her back with a yelp and Lynn gasps loudly as she can see Jenna hit the ground. "Oh my god Jenna im so sorry, I didn't mean to push you that hard." Lynn says as she jumps down to Jenna, Lynn gets on her knees behind Jenna and puts her head onto her knees. "it's okay Lynn, you don't have to apologize." Jenna says as she rubs her head, she then looks up at Lynn who looks seriously worried. "No this is my fault, are you hurt? Can I get you some water?" Lynn says as she opens the bag and pulls a water bottle out, she puts it against Jenna's lips while tilting her head up so she doesn't choke. Jenna takes a sip of water and then looks back up at Lynn. "Lynn- really it's no big problem, you didn't break my back or anything. Maybe it bruises but that's all." Jenna says comforting, Lynn's warm smile appears but she doesn't move away. Lynn puts her hand on Jenna's head and softly strokes away a string of hair on her face. Jenna giggles as she feels Lynn's hand resting on top of her head. "Well now that were sitting here anyway, we can rest for a little." Jenna laughs as she looks up at Lynn. Lynn realises that her hand is still on Jenna's head and quickly her hand away. "Yeah good idea, we could eat something if you're hungry?" Lynn says as she reaches over to the bag and pulls out the protein bars. "Im always hungry!" Jenna jokes as she sits up and leans against the log. Lynn only realises how much she liked the warmth of Jenna's head on her lap when it fades away. She follows Jenna's lead and also leans against the fallen over log as she hands Jenna one of the bars. Jenna happily takes it and opens the wrapper quickly before stuffing it into her pocket, She then takes a small bite as she looks around her at the forest that is surrounding them. Lynn also opens her protein bar and takes a bite- but all she can look at is Jenna, for some reason she doesn't seem to be able to look away- or doesn't want to look away. She once again feels the now more familiar feeling when looking at Jenna. It is an warm and strong feeling, but somehow it also feels empty- like it is still missing something to have its full warmth. Lynn looks away before she gets caught by Jenna again. "It's quite the place isn't it?" Lynn asks trying to strike up some conversation. "I tought I made that clear by all my comments about the area but yeah it is." Jenna giggles as Lynn realises that they have almost only been talking about the surrounding forest this hike. "it's ok Lynn I get it, we don't really have much to talk about. I mean we met yesterday!" Jenna says with a reassuring and comforting smile. Jenna looks into Lynn's eyes while turning her head slightly. "Yeah you're right, but what are we gonna talk about then?" Lynn asks while returning the look into Jenna's eyes with a slight smile. "Well I did had a question about new year's." Jenna says. Lynn nods at Jenna as if to say she can ask the question. "Well what are we going to do then? Like what is the general plan?" Jenna asks. Lynn looks away to think for a second about what they could do. "Well maybe we can have dinner and then just watch the countdown into the new year's. It's not that much but my mother and I always had simple celebrations." Lynns says then after a few seconds of thinking back to all the previous years. "Ok, yeah that sounds nice. But wait I have one more question for you if that's ok." Jenna asks looking a bit embarrassed. "Sure what's up." Lynn says as she finishes her protein bar and laying back a little more against the log. "Well you keep talking about you and your mom and how you two have spent most of your life's together, so does that mean this will be your first celebration without her?" Jenna asks as she also lays back. "Yeah I guess so, I didn't really think about that. Well im glad you are here then, you're really nice and down to earth." Lynn says with a smile. Jenna doesn't respond but Lynn doesn't think much of it, she just looks up at the grey sky with a slight smile knowing that she is not alone anymore. She of course always had her mom but she never had a lot of friends to hang out with- but now she has Jenna, who she really likes and can have a good time with. They just lay there for a while, on the cold and slightly wet grass while leaning against the old rotting tree. Even tho it's cold and not really comfortable- Lynn likes it, she likes being out here. But there's more than that- she likes being with Jenna. "so are we just gonna lay here or are we going to finish this hike!" Jenna says energetic while crawling onto her feet. Lynn looks up at Jenna who is now holding her hand out in front of Lynn. "You're right! Let's do this!" Lynn says now with matching energy as she takes Jenna's hand and uses it to pull herself of the ground. She grabs her bag and they walk back to the path. They keeping walking in the same direction they were going earlier. They again don't talk much but Lynn still enjoys walking next to Jenna. They just look around in silence at the orange leaves that are falling from the trees and piling up on the cold muddy ground. They walk for a while until they hit the edge between the forest and the city border.
