No, no no no no no. How, how did she find them. Did she follow them, how could she. Jenna was right, she saw her mom. Lynn can't believe it, she's furious. That grin on Jenna's mom her face is terrible. She hates it, she hates her. "What are you doing here mom." Jenna quietly says, looking down at the pavement. "You know, groceries. I have every right to be here." Jenna's mom says smugly. "Bullshit, you just followed us here for some reason. Why?" Lynn says angerly. "Because you two don't know what you're doing. You are tearing our family apart. All of this conflict." "How are we tearing the family apart." Jenna quietly says. Lynn wanted to say the same, but Jenna seems to be standing up for herself. Lynn is still furious, but deep down she is also proud of Jenna. After what happened this morning, standing up for herself now. It's huge. "Well, you were always priding around your popularity. And now getting headlines on those sites about your little girlfriend. Well, I can't leave you to put down the rest of the family like that." Jenna's mom says "And now moving away, leaving all of this behind for a girl. Please, that's the biggest cry for attention ever. Like how badly do you want every single pair of eyes on you. How big of a attention whore do you want to be-" "Shut up." Jenna interrupts her mom. It shocks both her mom, and Lynn. "What did you say to me!?" Her mother almost yells. "I SAID SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Jenna yells, turning a few heads in the parking lot. "How dare you-" "HOW DARE I? HOW DARE YOU!" Jenna yells again "You are my god damn mom, and all you do since I started getting famous is tell me how terrible I am, ridicule me and make my live a living hell!" Lynn is speechless, Jenna snapped. Like Lynn is sort of glad she did, she is finally telling her mom off , but wow. "How dare you keep coming back, telling me about what I do to our family, yet you are the one that keeps destroying your own daughter for living her own life. You were the ones that started my career, but the moment I do things myself. Get famous and become more successful than you, I am the terrible person? Like come on, why mom? WHY AM I SUCH A BURDEN TO YOU!?" Jenna says. "BECAUSE YOU TRY TO MAKE US REALISE HOW WORTHLESS WE ARE." Jenna's mom yells back. "No. You do that to yourself, you compare yourself to me and draw your own conclusions. Conclusions that make me the bad guy." Jenna says again, more calmly. Lynn likes this Jenna, she's a savage. Telling her mom all of this, finally, must feel like such a relief. Lynn feels it, mostly because she doesn't have to do it again, coming in between them is stressful, hopefully it will end.
"I- We- How about you just shut up." Jenna's mom responds, she is at a loss of words, Lynn loves it. "No, how about you stay the fuck out of my life as long as you keep making up bullshit and saying these god awful things about me. Go live your own life and I will live mine." Jenna says. She grabs Lynn's hand "We will live our life. Happy and together. If you're gonna be in it will depend on you, but as long as you stay this much of a bitch to me and my girlfriend. You can go to hell." And with that, Jenna pulls Lynn away. They quickly walk away, away from Jenna's mom. Lynn is still processing what is happing, she glances back at Jenna's mother to see her looking after them, mouth wide open and a stupid expression on her face. Even though Lynn enjoys the hell out of that, she is pretty sure she has a very similar expression on her own face.
They just walk, turn corner after corner and go in the general direction of home. "Jenna." Lynn says, she just keeps walking. "Jenn." Lynn gives a little resistance to Jenna. She still keeps going, walking home without looking back. She punches in the code to the gate and quickly continues. "Jenna!" Lynn stops as they walk up the driveway. "WHAT!?" Jenna yells. Looking back with tears in her eyes. "What?" she softly asks again. Lynn looks at her, then pulls her in close. Holding her tightly as Jenna breaks down. She cries, buries herself in Lynn's chest and holds her close. "Why can't my own mom love me?" she asks. "I- I-" Lynn wants to explain, or give her a reason, or comfort her, but she can't "I don't know." Jenna cries louder. Lynn hates it, that she can't help. But it's all she can do. Offer the harsh truth, she feels like that's what Jenna needs to hear instead of a lie to comfort her. Best to get everything out now, now that all of this is going down. "The truth is that I don't know Jenn, but I can tell you that I love you. And that I care for you. Your mom is terrible, but what you said was good. And you let her know, if she really does care for you, she will come for you. She will be a part of your life. But it's better to keep her out of your life is she makes it this hard, what she does to you isn't normal." Lynn says, slowly pulling Jenna to her feet. She grabs her keys and slowly moves Jenna inside. She helps with Jenna's shoes and then let's her rest on the couch as she grabs a glass of water. "Jenna I love you with all of my heart, you are the most amazing person on this planet. Your family knows that and hopefully your mom too." "Thanks Lynn, You're amazing. I love you too." Jenna says, cuddling up to Lynn as she sits down next to her on the couch. Lynn smiles. "You are the strongest, greatest woman ever. I'm proud of you."
