"Okay everyone the break is over now so please start heading back to you seats," said Mira.

"Let's see. I think we are onto the next Food Wars viewing right," said Yamagishi.

"That sounds about right," said Izuku.

"I wonder what we will be watching this time around," said Suga.

"Didn't the last viewing end with Soma in a classroom setting," asked Nezuko.

"I believe that's right because we also meet Megumi during the last viewing as well," said Erina.

"Is everyone ready to start the viewing," asked Mira.

"Yeah, we are all ready to go," said Kanako.

"Alright then let's get started on the viewing," said Mira.

"Oh, look. Here comes the train. Guess it's time I get goin' then," said Megumi.
"Megumi...you...."
"Still just a wee girl of twelve, but off to Tokyo...."
"Don't you worry, pa, ma. I'll be fine," said Megumi.
"That's right. You're the best cook in the whole village, Megumi."
"I'm sure them Tokyo folks'll think you're real good too."
"Thanks!" said Megumi.
"Here. I made you a charm. It'll help you keep calm and study right," said Megumi's mom.
' "Seein' as how you can be a little timid at times," said Megumi's mom. Thanks everyone I'm gonna go to Tokyo and come home a great chef!' thought Megumi.
'It is the spring of Megumi Tadokoro's first year in high school...and already she is hanging on by a thread!']

"Oh, dear. That's not good," said Koro-sensei.

"Don't worry. Soma helped me a lot along with my other friends too," said Megumi.

"I wonder what the dish is that you going to have to make," said Manila Mikey.

'It's that transfer student who insulted everybody at the entrance ceremony.'
"Man, the last time I cooked in class was...when? That one cooking project we did in home ec., I think. Uh...Tadokoro, was it? How come you're scribbling on your hand and smacking you mouth like there's no tomorrow?" asked Soma.
"Ah! O-oh, i-it's just a superstition. If I draw the character for "person" on my hand and then swallow it, i-it helps me calm down. Um...i-if I get even one more "E," I'm going to be expelled," said Megumi.
"An "E"?" asked Soma.
"Yes. Every student's cooking is graded on a five-ter scale from "A" to "E". It can wind up being a little different by class, though," said Megumi.
"Huh. I heard this place was supposed to be an elite school...but I guess even elite schools have duds like you around," said Soma.
'Oh, geez...right after I swore I'd try to stay under the radar too. Why did he have to be my partner?' thought Megumi.
"I'm Soma Yukihira. You can call me Soma. Nice to meetcha!" said Soma.
'I-I can feel their stabbing glares...,' thought Megumi.
"O-oh...," said Megumi.
"Attention. Bonjour...my young apprentices," said Chapelle.

"So he's one of you teachers at Totsuki," said Joeichiro.

"Yep," said Soma.

"Hm, it says that his specialty is French cuisine so it has to be some type of french dish that you'll be making," said Irina.

["From the moment you set foot in the kitchen, you have a responsibility to create deliciousness. Your rank and experience mean nothing. In my class, and dish that is unworthy of an "A"...is given an "E"! Remember that," said Chapelle.
'How bad can my luck get?! My very first class of the year...and it has to be Mr. Roland Chapelle?! In one class last year, he gave all fifty of his students an "E". Of those fifty students, eighteen were expelled because of that grade. Even in Totsuki, he's known as a particularly strict instructor. So much so, his nickname is "The chef who never smiles"!' thought Megumi.
"Today's dish will be "Boeuf Bourguignon." (Also known as Beef Burgundy.) It is considered a staple of french cuisine. I shall write the recipe on the whiteboard should you need it. You have two hours! When you finish report to me. Well, then...let us begin. Commencez A curie! (Begin cooking!)" said Chapelle.
'I have no choice now but to do it. B-but as long as I go slowly and carefully, it'll be okay. Besides, Soma seems awfully confident. He must be really good...,' thought Megumi.]
