' "I'm here!!" said Shoyo. Kageyama definitely looked like he was about to put that up for Tanaka. He only reacted to Hinata's shout at the last second and still managed to set the ball with pinpoint accuracy. Right now he's unfortunately more noticeable for his bad attitude...but there's no denying that he is an amazing talent,' thought Suga.
"You two know how to do a quick set?!" asked Tanaka.
"What's that?" asked Shoyo.
"That super-fast attack you just did!" said Tanaka.
"Huh? Nope. I've only ever spiked balls that get tossed up in big, high arcs," said Shoyo.
"But you just did it a second ago! Then there was that one you hit in that game where your setter popped it up in the wrong direction!" said Tanaka.
"Huh? Oh, that? I don't remember how I did it," said Shoyo.
"Argh!" said Tanaka.
"But from now on, I'll hit any kind of set! Any kind! Got it?!" said Shoyo.]

"I mean Suga-san wasn't wrong on what he was able to see," said Tanaka.

"But the thing you would need is for them to sync up with each other too," said Riko.

["We've never done any serious combo practice together. It'd be impossible for us to pull off a quick set now," said Kageyama.
'Impossible?! The Kageyama just said the word "impossible"?! I didn't think he knew what that meant!!' thought Shoyo.
"What's wrong with you today?! All this acting quiet and timid and stuff is creeping me out!! Quit it!" said Shoyo.
"Shut up," said Kageyama.
' "You're terrified to even attempt a quick set," said Tsukki. "Yeah. I am. The idea that no one will be there when I put the ball up...scares me down to the bottom of my soul," said Kageyama,' thought Shoyo.

"Yeah...back...middle school...and here in high school too...no matter what I do...how fast I run...how high I jump...I still get stopped by blockers every time," said Shoyo.
'Volleyball...is a sport where height is really important. No matter how high I jump, it doesn't do anything to make up for that absolute gap in height,' thought Shoyo.

"It's true they didn't have time to work on combo moves. They were mainly focused on working on Shoyo's receives," said Ukai.

"I guess we will have to see if they can pull off a quick attack on the fly here soon," said Soma.

"When I heard that...I wanted to be like that too. So yeah...being short is a disadvantage. I might not be cut out for this. But I don't care. That doesn't matter to me.
