"JEONG HAEJIN!" IT was third period. My English teacher called my name from his desk, looking up from his laptop and eyes darting straight to where I sat at the back of the class.
I gulped, looking up from my work. Was I in trouble? Had he found out that I had done practically none of the work?! Was he going to call my dad?! My palms began to perspire and my breathing hitched.
He peered back down at his computer, glasses bouncing on his nose bridge as he scrunched his nose and focused deeply.
"You're required in the biology room for a... project. Don't be late."
I nodded my head, packing up the books that I had barely touched and shoving them into my school bag. I walked down awkwardly, a thousand eyes piercing into my back as I walked out of the class, uncomfortably fidgeting with the straps of my bag as I walked down the silent hallways.
When I reached the biology room, I was greeted by Mr Baek, who smiled gently at me before shutting the door behind me as I walked in.
Jungwon was uncomfortably standing, glancing down at the sheet he had placed on a table before he shut his eyes as he tried to memorise.
I put my bag on the table, taking out the pieces of the model and assembling them carefully. We then stood behind it.
I took a deep breathe, looking at the boy next to me, who's cheeks were slightly pink as he bit down on his bottom lip. "Ready?" I asked, under my breath. He nodded.
Mr Baek stood in front of the table, leaning against his own desk. He smiled warmly at the two of us. He clasped his clipboard and clicked his pen. "You may begin."
My voice shook slightly, as I spoke.
"The circulatory system is a system of organs which provides blood supply throughout the body. This system is one of the most vital as it circulates oxygenated blood and nutrients throughout the body and takes away carbon dioxide and waste. The systems prime service is to send blood throughout the body through veins, and received blood from the arteries."
