"GOOD MORNING CLASS!" Ms Park said, walking in, placing her laptop down on the table. "Good morning!" The class chorused back.
"Now first of all," she clasped her hands together. "I want to encourage you all to bring some warm winter clothes as it begins to get cold! I know last week was a heatwave, but now it's going to get colder and colder."
"I also want to reiterate how important it is to study over Christmas break which will be approaching soon for your exams next January."
"Now," she looked back over at her computer. "I'm going to begin to interview you guys as part of our careers subject in homeroom. It's just to finalise a plan for what you want to do after high school."
Hushed whispers began to echo around the class room, and Rieun looked at Haejin eagerly. "I really don't know what to do after high school," she pouted. Haejin nodded her head. "Me neither!"
"Shush," Ms Park yelled, in an attempt to settle the chatter. But it didn't work. "SHUT UP!" she yelled, and everyone's heads snapped back to her instantaneously.
"Now," she rubbed her temples. "The first person I would like to see in my office is" she looked back at her computer screen. "Haejin!"
Haejin's eyes grew wide, interlocking with Rieun's. She cleared her throat, standing up and following her teacher out of the door and into a small office just across the corridor.
"Take a seat," Ms Park said, taking the seat behind the desk and gesturing Haejin to take the one in front of her. "Now," she said, shuffling some papers in front of her. "Do you have any idea on what you would like to study after high school?"
"Um well-" Haejin pursed her lips together, but Ms Park cut her off. "You have very good grades," Ms Park said, looking through the files in front of her. "May I suggest you take up a job in either medical science, forensics? You could also do decent in the entertainment industry, I know a company that's interested in young talent and you already have the visual aspect-"
"Actually Ms," Haejin cut her off this time. "I wanted to take up a job in law enforcement." Ms Park looked up from her papers and at the student in front of her.
